Centre committed to creating jobs for youth: Union Min Varma
Bhimavaram (West Godavari District): Providing employment opportunities to youth is the primary goal of Rozgar Mela initiative, Union Minister of State for Steel and Heavy Industries Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma said. Participating as the chief guest at 16th Rozgar Mela held in Guntakal on Saturday, the Minister reiterated that the Central government, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, has been consistently working to provide quality employment to all sections of society. According to a release from the Minister's office in Bhimavaram, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated Rozgar Mela through video conferencing and launched the distribution of appointment letters to 51,000 selected candidates across the country. Following this, Minister Srinivasa Varma handed over appointment letters to the selected candidates from railway and postal departments in Guntakal and congratulated them. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister stated that over 10 lakh appointment letters have already been distributed across the country through Rozgar Melas in recent times. He urged the newly recruited individuals not to see themselves merely as employees, but as active participants in the nation's development. He said their dedication, discipline, and commitment would help build a stronger India. The Union Minister mentioned that the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) supplied 16,000 tonnes of high-strength steel for the construction of the world's highest railway bridge over the Chenab River in Jammu & Kashmir — a shining example of India's industrial capabilities. He also noted that the Central government is equally focused on creating job opportunities in the private sector and has introduced key reforms in labour laws to support women's empowerment and workforce participation.

PM exhorts new recruits to contribute to nation building
Prime Minister Narendra Modi called upon the new recruits for various Central government organisations, to consider their job as a golden opportunity to serve the citizens, irrespective of the position, department or place of posting. The Prime Minister addressed 51,000 new recruits at the 16th Rozgar Mela, organised simultaneously at 47 locations across the country, in virtual mode on Saturday. In Visakhapatnam, the programme was organised at the Sagarmala Conventions of Visakhapatnam Port Authority. 'Irrespective of your post and department, you should strive to live up to the expectations of the citizens by attending to their needs,' Mr. Modi told the recruits and congratulated them. He spoke at length on the welfare schemes launched by the Central government, which were intended to generate indirect employment in various sectors apart from safeguarding the interests of the beneficiaries for whom they were meant. Earlier in the day, Union Minister of Civil Aviation K. Ram Mohan Naidu, who participated in the Rozgar Mela from Visakhapatnam, urged the new recruits for the Railways, India Post, and other Central government organisations to work with dedication and commitment. He called upon the 52 recruits from Visakhapatnam to work with dedication in the roles assigned to them. 'Getting a government job should not be the end goal. One should aim to go higher. You should also contribute to the growth of the nation, thereby contributing to the Prime Minister's vision of Viksit Bharat,' Mr. Ram Mohan Naidu. Visakhapatnam North MLA P. Vishnu Kumar Raju and Divisional Railway Manager (Waltair) Lalit Bohra also spoke. Later, the Union Minister and other dignitaries handed over the appointment letters to the new recruits in Visakhapatnam.

Hyderabad: Union Minister for Coal and Mines, G Kishan Reddy said the Centre under Prime Minister Narendra Modi has so far issued appointment letters to 10.50 lakh youths in the last 15 Rozgar Melas. An additional 51,000 appointment letters have been issued during the 16th Rozgar Mela on Saturday. Addressing the 16th Rozgar Mela held in Rail Kakal Rang on Saturday, he said those who are receiving letters of appointment would be the main partners in the programmes of the country for the next 25 years. He said the strength of the country is in having the largest youth population in the world, and it has further increased the responsibility towards the country and opened doors to wider opportunities. The Union Minister said that it was due to the power of youth that the country has become the fourth largest economy, and is heading to become the third largest economy in the world. In the last 11 years, he said the Modi's government has not only taken steps to create jobs but also to make them partners in the development of the country in all sectors. In its bid to make youth become job creators rather than waiting for jobs, the Centre has taken several initiatives like Startups, skilling, and other schemes to empower the youth. Startup India is providing youth with industrial ideas and encouraging them. More than 1.60 lakh startups have been formed in the country through the Startup India scheme and 17.6 lakh people have been employed in 11 years. Most of these 1.6 lakh-plus startups are in secondary and tertiary cities scripting an inspiration for others, he added. As a result, 'Since 2017, 8.5 crore people have been given new jobs. EPFO calculations reveal th ese details. Since 2020, more than 3.5 crore youth, aged between 18 and 28 years, have registered with EPFO. In the 2025 financial year alone, 1.13 crore people joined EPFO.' he added/ Besides, the world's largest social security program is running in India. About 64 per cent of the Indian population receives benefits as part of social security. He listed out the schemes unveiled to support women through Mudra Yojana and the Lakh Pati Didi program. As a result of such schemes.. Women's Labor Force Participation Rate (LFPR) has increased from 23 per cent in 2017-18 to 41.7 per cent in 2023-24.

Union min flags off Rozgar Mela, 204 youths hired
Bhubaneswar: In a push to boost youth participation in national development, Union education minister inaugurated the 16th Rozgar Mela in Bhubaneswar on Saturday. The event, aimed at expanding employment opportunities for young people, saw 204 appointment letters distributed to newly appointed candidates across various central govt departments. The Rozgar Mela, held simultaneously at 47 locations across the country, is part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's initiative to prioritise employment generation, he added. In a nationwide address via video conferencing, Modi distributed appointment letters to over 51,000 young men and women. Pradhan said that more than one million appointment letters have been distributed through such fairs. At the Bhubaneswar event, appointments were made in various sectors, including 143 in railways, 36 in the postal department, and others in finance, revenue, CRPF, CISF, AIIMS Bhubaneswar, and IISER Berhampur.

More new members in EPFO now, says Joshi
Union Minister for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Pralhad Joshi has said that following initiatives taken by the Union government in providing and facilitating employment, the number of new members in the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) had increased. Inaugurating the 16th Rozgar Mela organised in association with South Western Railway in Hubballi on Saturday, Mr. Joshi said that during 2014 there were 23.73 crore EPFO members and it had increased significantly owing to more youths getting employment. 'After Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to power, several initiatives had been taken to provide employment through government departments, public sector undertakings, banks and other organisations. At the same time, employment generation in the private sector was also encouraged leading to more number of new members in EPFO,' he said, adding that the increased number of EPFO members was the answer to the Opposition parties which were raising the issue of unemployment repeatedly. Mr. Joshi said that in Indian Railways alone, 8,400 candidates had been recruited of late and SWR had recruited 1,135. Shortly the recruitment for 3,500 posts in Railways would be held, he said. Mr. Joshi also said that under the Modi regime, the employment for women had increased from 20% in 2014 to 40% now. The Union Minister said that following the steps taken by the Centre, the nation's economy was growing at a faster pace and already India had become the fourth largest economy in the world. 'Very soon it will be the third biggest economy,' he said. He said that in the last decade, 40,000 km of railway lines had been electrified and the government was providing free foodgrains through the public distribution system to 80 crore people. 'Self sufficiency has been achieved in power generation and country's infrastructure has improved a lot. Under Mr. Modi's leadership the country was progressing rapidly,' he said. On the occasion, selected candidates were given appointment orders. Earlier, Mr. Modi inaugurated the mela via virtual mode. General Manager of SWR Mukul Saran Mathur, Divisional Railway Manager Bela Meena and other officials were present.
