Participating as the chief guest at 16th Rozgar Mela held in Guntakal on Saturday, the Minister reiterated that the Central government, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, has been consistently working to provide quality employment to all sections of society. According to a release from the Minister's office in Bhimavaram, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated Rozgar Mela through video conferencing and launched the distribution of appointment letters to 51,000 selected candidates across the country. Following this, Minister Srinivasa Varma handed over appointment letters to the selected candidates from railway and postal departments in Guntakal and congratulated them.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister stated that over 10 lakh appointment letters have already been distributed across the country through Rozgar Melas in recent times. He urged the newly recruited individuals not to see themselves merely as employees, but as active participants in the nation's development. He said their dedication, discipline, and commitment would help build a stronger India. The Union Minister mentioned that the Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) supplied 16,000 tonnes of high-strength steel for the construction of the world's highest railway bridge over the Chenab River in Jammu & Kashmir — a shining example of India's industrial capabilities. He also noted that the Central government is equally focused on creating job opportunities in the private sector and has introduced key reforms in labour laws to support women's empowerment and workforce participation.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack at the Congress-led Opposition for 'giving a clean chit' to Pakistan over the Pahalgam terror attack and mocked the grand old party for not supporting India's war on terror. Brushing aside Congress's claims of India's foreign policy failure, in the aftermath of Operation Sindoor, PM Modi said that none of the countries voiced any opposition to India's military strikes against Pakistan. 'Out of 193 countries, only three countries supported Pakistan either through dialogue or by other means. All nations and organisations, including BRICS and others, supported India's military strikes and war on terror,' PM Modi told the house. Further mocking the grand old party, PM Modi said, 'We got the support of countrymen, support of countries, but it is unfortunate the armed forces didn't get the support of the Congress party.' PM Modi claimed that the grand old party gloated over the Pahalgam terror attack, hoping that it would allow them to target him and corner the government. 'They were trying to score political points at the cost of loss of innocent lives. They lowered the morale of the armed forces and undermined their valour,' PM Modi said. He further said that information and narratives play a key role in today's warfare strategy and cautioned against using technology to undermine the armed forces and misguide the public on issues of national importance. Doubling down his attack, PM Modi accused the grand old party of being hand in glove with Pakistan and said, 'Today, Congress is bereft of issues and is forced to draw agenda from outside.' He said that Congress leaders have repeatedly demanded proof and evidence of India's surgical strikes, but sensing public backlash, it changed tack and went to claim that such strikes happened in the Congress regime too. 'It's good that they didn't seek similar credit like Operation Sindoor because such air strikes never happened before,' he said, taunting the Opposition. He said that Congress wants a reason to oppose the government's decisions even at the cost of national security and also highlighted its 'disdain' for the armed forces. 'There is a negativity towards armed forces; it's an old Congress habit of finding faults in their action,' he said.

State govt. yet to submit proposal for IIMPs, says Union Minister
The Kerala government has not yet submitted the proposal for the Integrated Island Management Plans (IIMPs) as per the Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) Notification 2019, according to Union Minister of State for Environment, Forest, and Climate Change Kirti Vardhan Singh. He was replying to Ernakulam MP Hibi Eden's question in the Lok Sabha on whether the Centre proposed to implement IIMPs to meet the unique environmental and infrastructure needs of island communities in Ernakulam, thus enhancing their quality of life and safeguarding their ecosystem. Mr. Singh said that the Ministry had approved the Coastal Zone Management Plans (CZMPs) for all coastal districts, including Ernakulam, through a letter dated October 16, 2024. IIMPs are prepared as per the CRZ Notification 2019 and are approved based on the proposal received from the State government. The Government of Kerala is yet to submit the IIMP proposal, he said. The MP had asked whether the government had plans to consider reassessing 13 excluded panchayats in Ernakulam for CRZ-II classification, given their urban-like characteristics and the essential development needs of their residents. It included Alangad, Chendamangalam, Chittattukara, Ezhikkara, Kadungalloor, Karumaloor, Kottuvally, Kunnukara, Puthenvelikkara, Udayamperoor, Vadakkekkara, Kuzhuppilly, and Pallippuram. The Minister said that the CZMP of Kerala was approved by the Ministry through a letter dated October 16, 2024, based on the recommendation of the technical scrutiny committee meeting held on March 1, 2024, and the recommendations of the National Coastal Zone Management Authority at its 47th meeting held on September 23, 2024. Thereafter, the Ministry has not received any further proposal to date for the inclusion of remaining panchayats in Category-II of the CRZ classification, he said.
