KKFD Aims To Accredit Half Of Digital Forensics Labs Under Its Agencies Within Five Years

KOTA TINGGI, Aug 15 (Bernama) -- The Digital Forensics Workgroup (KKFD) has set a target to have half of the Digital Forensics laboratories under its agencies accredited by the Department of Standards Malaysia (DSM) within the next five years. Its chairman Wan Zulkifli Wan Jusoh said to date, only six out of the 16 agencies under KKFD have obtained the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation certificate from DSM. These include the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC), the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), the Royal Malaysian Customs Department (JKDM), the Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH), the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), and CyberSecurity Malaysia. Wan Zulkifli added that such recognition is vital to ensure that the operation and quality management of forensic laboratories, including their standard operating procedures (SOPs), meet international standards. 'There are other laboratories currently in the process of obtaining accreditation, and this effort is included in their respective agencies' roadmaps. "Achieving this recognition is a challenge. For instance, at MACC, it took us three years. With this in mind, we aim for half of the registered agencies under KKFD to obtain accreditation within the next five years,' he told a press conference following the 2025 KKFD Law Enforcement Agency meeting here today. Also present were KKFD PKPK II deputy chairman 1, Nik Mazdie Izham Nik Mohamed, who is also JKDM's Digital Forensics laboratory head, and KKFD deputy chairman II, ACP Muhammad Zulkifly Mohd Isa, PDRM's D10 Physical Forensics laboratory head. The two-day meeting, which began yesterday and was attended by 100 members from 16 agencies, discussed challenges and opportunities in addressing increasingly complex cybercrime, including the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in digital investigations. Wan Zulkifli emphasised that the involvement of several agencies in the meeting reflects the country's commitment to advancing technology and digital investigations, which are critical for combating the rising tide of digital crime.

MACC to develop ISO certification for crisis communication with Dept of Standards

CYBERJAYA: The role and responsibility of public relations practitioners are crucial in helping to disseminate and control a more accurate narrative to shape the public's rational and logical thinking. Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) strategic communications division (SCD) director Hisyam Mohd Yusoff said all parties, especially in the government sector, need to view this effort as a necessary change to be implemented collaboratively rather than working independently or in silos. "Communication crisis management is now seen as a critical necessity, and the SCD has taken the initiative to begin planning the development of an ISO Certification for Communication Crisis Management as part of the new MACC Strategic Plan starting in 2026. "The Department of Standards Malaysia (MSD) is regarded as an important agency to assist MACC in achieving this strategic plan, similar to the collaboration with MSD in granting ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation certification to the MACC Digital Forensic Laboratory last year," he said. Department director Wan Rukiman Wan Mamat also welcomed and committed to cooperating with MACC in developing this ISO standard. "MSD views MACC's proposal as timely and in line with current needs, which indeed require such planning to be established," he said. The SCD delegation, led by its Deputy Director Jules Rahman Ong, held discussions with MSD regarding the proposal for developing standards and accreditation in communication management at MSD's office in Cyberjaya today. Hisyam said the ISO Certification is also important to establish a communication crisis management standard that will be adopted by every government and private agency. He said MACC is also concerned about the level of rationality, thinking, and public perception, which are increasingly susceptible to misinformation and unhelpful news, prompting the idea and need to develop such a plan.

Consolidated Lithium Metals announces exposure of a new Li-bearing pegmatite at its Preissac Project and closes financing

TORONTO, July 04, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Consolidated Lithium Metals Inc. (TSXV: CLM | FRA: Z36) ('CLM' or the 'Company') is pleased to announce the commencement of its summer 2025 exploration campaign at its Preissac Project (Fig. 1). As part of the program, a trench measuring 100 meters in length, and 30 meters in width has been excavated in the area of a previously identified lithium (Li) soil anomaly. The trench successfully exposed an 18-meter-wide pegmatite body, confirming the presence of promising mineralized structures at surface. Following the excavation, a channel sampling program was completed. In total, 25 channel samples were collected, prepared, and logged in detail. All samples, including QA/QC samples, were sent to Impact Global Solutions Inc., ('IGS Canada') for analysis. Furthermore, several previous Li showings were soil/bio-sampled again along lines across the predicted strike of the pegmatites related to the anomalies. In total, 279 bio and 252 soil samples were collected, prepared, and logged in detail. All samples, including QA/QC samples, were sent to IGS Canada for analysis. Figure 6 – CLM 2025 Exploration | Channel/Soil/Bio Sampling | Preissac-Lacorne Property Exploration Program Specifics About Soil Sampling Soil samples were collected from the B-horizon of the soil profile in plastic bags shipping to the laboratory for geochemical analysis. The analyses were undertaken by IGS Canada in Delson, Quebec. Upon arrival at the laboratory, the samples were dried, weighed, crushed, and split into subsamples of which one 250g subsample was pulverized to allow 85% of the material to pass through a 75-micron sieve. The sieved subsample was digested in acid and analyzed using ICP-MS, ICP-OES, and SPF. The Company implemented QA/QC procedures to ensure the validity of the sampling by using a series of field duplicates in each batch of samples sent for analysis. A review of the field duplicates indicate that the soil sample results are likely reasonably precise and accurate. IGS Canada is an independent ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accredited facility (#889) by the Standards Council of Canada. Dr. Andreas Rompel, Vice President Exploration, commented: 'We are very excited about the newly discovered pegmatite and we intend to continue to expose it further. This is merely the first step in our exploration efforts at Preissac, which remains the least explored project area within CLM. Additional trenching is expected to follow to investigate the soil anomalies identified in previous surveys.' Financing Close CLM also announces today that it has closed its previously announced non-brokered private placement financing of units (each, a 'Unit') at a price of $0.01 per Unit for gross proceeds of up to $300,000 (the 'Offering'). The Company previously closed a tranche of the Offering on April 2, 2025, pursuant to which the Company issued 21,000,000 Units for gross proceeds of $210,000; no further tranches will be closed pursuant to the Offering. For more information about the first tranche and the Offering, please see the Company's press releases dated April 2, 2025, and February 14, 2025, April 11, 2025, May 12, 2025, and June 12, 2025, respectively, each of which is available under the Company's SEDAR+ profile at .
