How the Canada Games will affect traffic and travel in St. John's

As the 2025 Canada Games begin, so too do the traffic advisories for St. John's and the surrounding area. The city is advising members of the public to plan ahead, and encourages drivers to use alternate modes of transport due to limited parking at many venues. Changes have been made to Metrobus operations to accommodate the twp-week event. From Aug. 10 to Aug. 16 and Aug. 18 to Aug. 24, Route 34 will run every 30 minutes from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. NT. Additional detours will impact Routes 2, 3, 10 and 11. For the duration of the Canada Games, anyone with a games accreditation or ticket may ride the Metrobus for free. Metrobus is also warning passengers to expect delays due to increased traffic volumes and detours. Many of the venues can be accessed directly by bus, but not all. An interactive map shows routes to the venues accessible by bus.
