Isuzu D-Max EV unveiled globally: Design, features, range and India launch timeline

The electric pickup truck had previously been displayed in concept form at the Bharat Mobility Global Auto Expo 2025. The new electric pickup is Isuzu's maiden attempt at EV pickups, and it is a promising option for both personal and commercial use. While the productions for the electric pickup truck have already commenced globally, it is unclear whether the EV will be launched in India. Here's how much range it gets Isuzu D-Max EV: Design At first sight, the D-Max EV closely resembles its internal combustion counterpart, maintaining the rugged and muscular posture the pickup is famous for. Yet, Isuzu has made subtle yet effective tweaks to announce its electric persona. It gets a front grille that's closed off, restyled LED headlamps, and sleek dual-tone alloy wheels that serve as a differentiator from its ICE counterpart. Customers will have the option of two body styles that they're familiar with: the double cab and the extended cab, to suit different lifestyle and business requirements. Isuzu D-Max EV: Features While Isuzu has not yet announced the complete interior design, initial reports indicate a dramatic improvement in cabin quality. Better materials, a bigger touchscreen infotainment system, and improved driver-assistance technology are expected. While exact ADAS features are not yet disclosed, the upgrades promise a more sophisticated and technology-friendly driving experience. The EV pickup is claimed to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 10.1 seconds and has a top speed of 128 kmph. On a single charge, it is estimated to cover a range of 263 km, which makes it ideal for urban driving and light-duty towing. Global market production has already commenced at Isuzu's Thai plant, though the Indian variant might be some time off since the outgoing model is left-hand drive alone. Isuzu D-Max electric pick-up revealed: 66.9 kWh, 4x4 and more
Japanese Automaker has finally revealed the Isuzu D-Max electric pick-up globally. A concept version of the D-Max EV made its debut at last year's Bangkok Motor Show and the production version of the e-pickup truck has been unveiled at the 2025 Commercial Vehicle Show, Birmingham. The production of the left-hand drive version intended for Europe is already underway, with deliveries to key European markets expected in the third quarter of 2025. The right-hand drive variant of the D-Max EV is slated to enter production toward the end of this year. In terms of dimensions, the EV pick-up EV measures 5,280 mm in length, 1,810 mm in height, and 1,870 mm in width and has a 3,125 mm wheelbase. It has a kerb weight of 2,350 kg and claimed payload capacity of up to 1,010 kg and a towing limit of 3,500 kg. The pick-up has claimed acceleration of 0-100 kmph in 10.1 seconds and has a top speed of 128 kmph. It's offered in two body styles - Extended Cab and Double Cab. Talking about the motor and battery first, the electric pickup is powered by a 66.9 kWh battery pack paired with a motor producing 188 horsepower and 325 Nm of torque. On a full charge, it offers a WLTP-rated driving range of 263 km. Charging from empty to full takes around 10 hours using an 11 kW AC charger, while a 50 kW DC fast charger can charge the battery from 20% to 80% in about one hour. It now uses newly engineered e-axles at both ends, which is claimed to deliver the smooth, responsive acceleration expected from electric vehicles while keeping noise and vibrations to a minimum. It also features a Rough Terrain Mode and replaces the conventional leaf spring setup at the rear and the EV version adopts a newly developed De-Dion rear suspension , which contributes to better handling characteristics when compared to the leaf spring setup. The pick-up has 210 mm of ground clearance and a water wade capacity of up to 600 mm deep. It has approach and departure angles of 30.5 degrees and 24.2 degrees, respectively. Moving inside, the overall interior layout is same as the ICE model and features an updated touchscreen infotainment display, a digital instrument cluater, dual-zone climate control, heated seats, ADAS, front and rear parking sensors and more. Isuzu D-Max EV debuts in Europe
Isuzu has unveiled the Isuzu D-Max EV at the 2025 Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham. This is billed as Europe's first fully electric pick-up truck designed with full commercial capabilities. The Isuzu D-Max EV is built on the foundation of the conventional D-Max but gains an electric drivetrain. This fully electric version delivers a full-time 4×4 system, a payload capacity of over one tonne and a maximum braked towing limit of 3.5 tonnes. It's the first production EV pick-up in Europe to achieve such feats apparently. Underneath is a 66.9kWh lithium-ion battery powering dual electric motors, delivering a combined 140kW (43kW front, 97kW rear) and 325Nm of torque. With a WLTP range of 263km and a 0–100km/h sprint time of just over 10 seconds, Isuzu reckons the D-Max EV offers a blend of real-world performance and everyday practicality. A top speed of more than 130km/h ensures it's capable on highways. Off-road credentials include 600mm water wading depth, 210mm of ground clearance, and approach and departure angles of 30.5° and 24.2°, respectively. A new De-Dion rear suspension system replaces traditional leaf springs which should enhance ride comfort and handling while contributing to a quieter cabin experience. Isuzu claims a 10 per cent reduction in noise and vibration during full acceleration. The Isuzu D-Max EV has been engineered with professional users in mind. It maintains its ladder chassis and integrates a Rough Terrain Mode for extreme conditions, and features an updated suite of Advanced Driver Assist Systems (ADAS) for improved safety.
