101 young leaders at JCI convention

Kota Kinabalu: Some 101 young leaders locally and abroad attended the 2025 JCI Malaysia Area Sabah Convention, recently. The convention opened here and then moved to Keningau, where delegates immersed themselves in a variety of impactful programs designed to foster leaderships, connection and community engagement. Advertisement Participants attended key events such as the Area Team Meeting, the JCI Vice President Reception and Dialogue and the Growth & Development Roundtable, offering members unique opportunities to learn from the past leaders and shape the future direction of JCI in Sabah. In addition, the convention offered an engaging mix of activities that nurtured public speaking, critical thinking, and innovation among youth. Competitions such as Parliamentary Quiz, Public Speaking in Malay, English, and Mandarin, the Mandarin Oregon Debate, and the English Debate brought out the best of intellectual and oratory talent. Delegates also expressed their creativity and passion through the Talent Battle and the Mobile Legends E-Sports Competition, both of which the crowd favorites. JCI Malaysia Sabah Convention makes history in Keningau
Published on: Saturday, May 17, 2025 Published on: Sat, May 17, 2025 Text Size: KENINGAU: The 2025 JCI Malaysia Area Sabah Convention, themed 'Catalyst of Change,' concluded with success as it marked the first time the event was held in Keningau. Organized by JCI Tanjung Aru, the convention drew 101 young leaders from across Malaysia and beyond, with a quarter of attendees coming from outside Sabah. Advertisement The event featured leadership forums, cultural immersion in Kampung Nuntunan, and competitions in public speaking, debate, and e-sports. Delegates also toured EcoYap Farm to learn about sustainable agriculture. National JCI leaders praised the collaboration and youth leadership on display, expressing hope for stronger regional ties and more Sabahans stepping into national roles.
