Former Vols by the numbers in 2025 MLB Week 7 Week 7 of the 2025 MLB season has come to an end. Four former Vols began the week in MLB: Jordan Beck (Colorado), Chase Dollander (Colorado), Garrett Crochet (Boston) and Seth Halvorsen (Colorado). Former Tennessee pitcher Blade Tidwell was optioned to the Mets' Triple-A affiliate after a loss in a spot start at the Cardinals on May 4. Former Vol pitcher Ben Joyce has not returned to the Angels after being placed on the 15-day injured list April 11, retroactive to April 9, due to shoulder inflammation. Jordan Beck Beck hit a pair of singles to open the week against the Tigers on May 7, scoring one run and driving in another. He hit a single in each game of a doubleheader on May 8, scoring one run in the opening contest. The weekend began with a solo home run for Beck in the eighth inning against San Diego on May 9. He hit a single in a, 21-0, loss on May 10. Beck finished the week Sunday being hit by a pitch in his first at bat, and proceeded to single, double and score two runs. Garrett Crochet Crochet earned his fourth win of the season against the Royals on May 10. He totaled nine strikeouts and allowed seven hits, one run and one walk in seven innings. Chase Dollander In three innings during Dollander's start against the Tigers on May 7, he did not record a strikeout and allowed five hits, six runs and three walks. Dollander did not record a loss with the game going to extra innings. Seth Halvorsen Halvorsen relieved Scott Alexander in the seventh inning against the Tigers on May 7. He pitched 1.2 innings and recorded three strikeouts, while allowing one hit and one walk. Halvorsen's second appearance last week was a two-strikeout, 14-pitch seventh inning against San Diego on May 9. He closed out a win on Sunday with 10 pitches and one strikeout. Trey Lipscomb (Washington) was recalled on April 17 after starting third baseman Paul DeJong was placed on the 10-day injured list after sustaining a pitch to the face. Jordan Beck (Colorado) was also recalled on April 19 after starting center fielder Brenton Doyle was placed on the bereavement list. Five former Vols were on MLB rosters during Week 2: Jordan Beck (Colorado), Garrett Crochet (Boston), Chase Dollander (Colorado), Seth Halvorsen (Colorado) and Ben Joyce (Angels). Dollander joined Beck and Halvorsen in Colorado and made his MLB debut on April 6. Dollander was selected by Colorado in the first round of the 2023 Major League Baseball draft (No. 9 overall). He played for the Vols from 2022-23 after transferring from Georgia Southern. Crochet played for Tennessee from 2018-20 and was selected by the White Sox in the 2020 MLB draft (No. 11 overall). He was traded to the Red Sox following the 2024 season. Beck was drafted by Colorado (No. 38 overall) in 2022 and played for the Vols from 2020-22. Halvorsen was also selected by the Rockies in 2023 during the seventh-round (No. 202 overall) after playing at Tennessee from 2022-23. Dollander was taken by the Rockies in 2023 (No. 9 overall) after two season with the Vols. Jordan Beck Beck opened the Rockies' series against Philadelphia with one walk and one infield single. He started Colorado's weekend series against the A's with one walk and hit a game-tying RBI single. Beck pinch ran for Nick Martini in the series finale, scoring the Rockies' eighth run of the game. Seth Halvorsen Halvorsen surrendered one walk and one against the Phillies. He pitched the ninth and 10th innings during the series opener against the A's. He totaled two strikeouts and allowed one hit.
