Zhao Xintong of China acknowledges the fans (Image: Getty Images ) The 2025 Snooker World Championship final has been fought about between Zhao Xintong and Mark Williams over the past two days, with the Chinese superstar looking imperious throughout. The 49th annual event, held at the Crucible in Sheffield, is the longest-running professional snooker event and there is a total prize fund of £2,395,000 available to competing players. Last year, winner Kyren Wilson pocketed a cool £500,000 after beating Welshman Jak Jones. It was his first world title, and a surprising one too, coming into the tournament as an underdog following an underwhelming campaign. For the 2025 edition, the winner also picks up £500,000. The second-paced player still collects a cool £200,000. Even those who lost at the semi-final stage - Ronnie O'Sullivan and Judd Trump - went home with £100,000. It's then down to £50,000 for the quarter-finalists and £30,000 for those who made the last 16. Article continues below Similar to darts, there is also money on the line for highest break, with three maximum 147s seen this year. The prize money for highest break is £15,000. Jackson Page broke records when he produced two 147 breaks in the same match, and he'll now have to share that prize money with Mark Allen, who produced one 147 in the second round.
