'Ticket, Please?': What This Woman In 2AC Coach Showed TTE Stunned Everyone
A viral video shows a heated argument between a female passenger and a TTE over the validity of her MST pass in a 2AC coach. The video has sparked debate on social media
Indian Railways remains a vital mode of transport across the nation, but a recent incident has brought attention to ticketing rules and passenger conduct. A viral video has captured a heated argument between a female passenger and a travelling ticket examiner (TTE) over the validity of her ticket. The woman, travelling in a 2AC coach, produced an MST (monthly seasonal ticket) pass instead of a valid 2AC ticket when the TTE asked to check. This led to confusion and a back-and-forth discussion about the ticket's legitimacy.
Ticketing Rules
MSTs are only valid for ordinary coaches, passenger trains, and Mainline Electric Multiple Unit (electric train) services, not for 1AC, 2AC, or 3AC coaches on long-distance superfast trains. This detail was the crux of the argument, as the TTE explained that the MST pass did not apply in the 2AC coach.
For about three-and-a-half minutes, the woman argued that she had been assured by railway staff that she could travel in any coach. She showed the ticket on her phone and attempted to downplay the situation, but the TTE remained firm, eventually calling his senior for clarification.
The video, shared by @gharkekalesh on X (formerly Twitter), has garnered over 22,000 views and sparked a heated discussion. Many users praised the TTE for his professionalism, while others debated the passenger's claims. The incident has highlighted the importance of understanding and following ticketing rules for efficient train travel.
