Charges laid in downtown shooting investigation

On Saturday at 2 a.m., the London Police Service received a report about a suspected shooting. When police arrived, they said they found a man near King and Richmond streets with a gunshot wound. The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries. A 30-year-old London man has been charged with: Six counts of possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to prohibition order Discharge firearm with intent to wound/endanger life or prevent arrest Aggravated assault Possess restricted or prohibited firearm knowingly not holding a licence Two counts of breach of probation The accused remains in custody and is expected to appear in London court Tuesday in relation to the charges.

Newcastle: Two charged with attempted murder after machete attack
Two men, aged 60 and 30 years old, have been charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable charges relate to a serious assault in Newcastle, County Down, where a man is believed to have been an attacked with a incident happened at approximately 12:30 BST on Saturday in the Tipperary Lane area. The victim sustained serious injuries to his face, hands and legs in the assault. Both men are due to appear at Downpatrick Magistrates' Court on Monday 23 June.

Break-in suspect facing murder charge after man's body found, police say
A woman arrested over a break-in in Adelaide's east is expected to be charged with the murder of a 65-year-old man whose body was found at a nearby unit, police say. Police were called to the unit on Walkerville Terrace at Gilberton about 7pm on Monday after receiving a report of a man collapsed inside. The victim was found dead at the scene and Major Crime investigators deemed his death suspicious. A short time earlier, police had been called to another home on the same road after intruders were seen in the backyard. Police said the 30-year-old from Gilberton was arrested at the scene, but was taken to hospital for treatment of cuts. In a statement, police said the woman had been "arrested in relation to the break-in as well as the man's death". "She is expected to be charged with murder and will face court at a later stage," police said.

Man who claimed to have been abducted at gunpoint in Ottawa Valley now charged with public mischief
Ontario Provincial Police say a man who claimed earlier this year that he was abducted at gunpoint in the Ottawa Valley is now facing a public mischief charge. Police say the investigation began March 17, when a delivery driver said he had encountered a man and a woman in Brundell-Lyndoch-Raglan Township, approximately 70 kilometres west of Renfrew. He said they had a gun and held him against his will, driving along several streets before they got out of the van and ran away. Officers could not find the two suspects. Police said Friday an in-depth investigation determined the man's claims were false. The 30-year-old is now facing a public mischief charge and is due in court in Pembroke on July 7.

Olds man charged in relation to possession of illegal hand gun
An Olds man faces multiple charges after police seized an illegal hand gun they say he had in his possession. On May 29 at around 3 p.m., Olds RCMP took a man into custody after receiving information that he had an illegal hand gun. Working with the RCMP's emergency response team and police dog services, Olds RCMP executed a search warrant, which resulted in a man inside a motor home being taken into the custody. A 30-year-old Olds resident was charged with unsafe storage of a firearm, possession of prohibited firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and possession of a firearm when knowing possession was unauthorized. Following a bail hearing, the man was released. He's scheduled to appear in court in Didsbury on June 16.
