Travis Hunter claps backs at Cam Ward in viral NFLPA moment
If the NFLPA Rookie Premiere was meant to showcase the league's next generation of stars, Travis Hunter and Cam Ward stole the show with a viral exchange that blended swagger, humor, and competitive fire. On the surface, it was all laughs. But underneath the jokes? Pure alpha energy. Advertisement During a lighthearted but edgy back-and-forth at the 31st annual NFLPA Rookie Premiere, No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward (Tennessee Titans) and No. 2 pick Travis Hunter (Jacksonville Jaguars) went toe-to-toe in a moment that quickly became a fan-favorite clip across social media, courtesy of Well Off Media. 'I would hate to be a Jacksonville Jaguar,' Ward said, smirking. Hunter, who just capped off an unprecedented final season at Colorado with a Heisman Trophy and 4 interceptions alongside 1,258 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns, didn't flinch. 'We didn't want you,' Hunter fired back. Ward, fresh off a standout year at Miami where he threw for 4,313 yards and 39 touchdowns, didn't let up. Advertisement 'They say they're trying to get rid of you already.' Hunter's response? Ice cold. 'You know they don't like quarterbacks that much. They only got you cause they had to.' The interaction, caught on camera during Panini America's media content session, offered fans an unfiltered glimpse into the personalities of two of this year's most dynamic rookies. For Buffaloes fans, it was another reminder that Hunter brings not just elite playmaking, but an edge that plays at any level. Jacksonville Jaguars' Travis Hunter Travis Register-Imagn Images While the NFLPA event is typically about endorsements, branding, and business orientation, this clip reminded everyone why the football part still matters. And why Hunter's competitive edge—sharpened in Boulder—might be his biggest brand asset of all. Advertisement As the Jaguars gear up for camp, Colorado fans will be watching closely—not just to see how Hunter plays, but how he leads. If Hunter brought this kind of fire to a media shoot, imagine what he's bringing to Sundays. Malaysia calls for WTO reforms, Apec nations to take leadership role
KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia has reaffirmed its strong commitment to a resilient, inclusive and future-ready trade environment, calling for a revitalised rules-based trading order and urgent reforms to the World Trade Organisation (WTO). Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz emphasised the importance of maintaining an open, transparent and fair multilateral trading system, with the WTO at its core. Tengku Zafrul urged Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (Apec) economies to take a leadership role in restoring the rules-based order, particularly by reinstating the WTO's dispute settlement mechanism and advancing key trade negotiations, including those on digital trade and fisheries subsidies. Speaking at an Apec meeting in South Korea, he highlighted Malaysia's domestic efforts to advance digitalisation and trade facilitation through initiatives such as the National AI Roadmap and the establishment of a National AI Office. The efforts aim to harness artificial intelligence to reduce trade friction, increase productivit and strengthen supply chain transparency across borders. Tengku Zafrul pointed out the importance of aligning digital and trade facilitation frameworks across the region. He proposed closer convergence between Apec's digital initiatives and Asean's Digital Economy Framework Agreement (DEFA), including mutual recognition of digital credentials and trusted trader schemes, to enhance regulatory coherence and promote seamless digital trade. "APEC must not merely respond to global trends, but must shape them. This means embedding trust, interoperability and inclusivity into every initiative, particularly in our approach to AI, cross-border trade facilitation and just climate transition," he said at the the 31st Apec Ministers Responsible for Trade (MRT) meeting in Jeju. On inclusivity, Tengku Zafrul pointed out one of Malaysia's suggestions was also on the scaling up of capacity-building efforts, particularly for small and medium enterprises, in areas such as circular economy, carbon accounting and smart agriculture. "Real progress is when businesses of every size have sufficient capacity to benefit from advances in technology and AI to achieve sustainable growth," he added. Meanwhile, in a joint statement, the Apec trade ministers collectively recognised the importance of the WTO to advance trade issues and reaffirmed Apec's role in creating a more resilient and prosperous Asia Pacific region. As part of Malaysia's broader leadership in advancing regional cooperation and in its capacity as Asean chair, Tengku Zafrul hosted the inaugural Apec-Asean Ministerial Caucus on the sidelines of the meeting. He also held bilateral discussions with key counterparts, including US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer to discuss issues relating to the reciprocal tariffs imposed by the US.

In Alabama, NASA's annual rover vehicle challenge drives inspiration for the moon and beyond
April 8 (UPI) -- NASA will kick off its 31st annual Rover Competition this week in Alabama, giving students from around the world a chance to show their engineering prowess in the space agency's "" obstacle course games. On Friday, student teams will gather for NASA's annual Human Exploration Rover Challenge near the Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville to compete at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center's Aviation Challenge course for events through Saturday. Expected to participate at the free event open to the public: Some 35 colleges and universities, along with 38 high schools and two middle schools from 20 states, including Puerto Rico and 16 other nations. The event is free and open to the public. According to NASA, hundreds of students from around the globe will -- with their teams -- attempt to navigate NASA's self-described "complex" obstacle course by piloting a vehicle of their own design and production in the traditional human-powered rover division. This year's competitive event expanded to include a remote-control division. Rover excursions will be seen from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. CDT each day, or until the last rover completes NASA's obstacle course. On Saturday, NASA officials will host an in-person awards ceremony at 5:30 p.m. local time inside its Space Camp Operations Center at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, where multiple awards will be be given out to winners in the project's eight-month-long engineering design and construction. NASA says the annual challenge, launched in 1994 and managed by its Marshall's Southeast Regional Office of STEM Engagement, "reflects the goals" of the Artemis campaign and is one of eight Artemis Student Challenges. The goal is to "put competitors in the mindset of NASA's Artemis campaign," which aims to establish the first long-term presence on the moon and pave the way for eventual missions to Mars. Last year, NASA's first mobile robotic lunar rover deployed with the help of commercial partners had a goal to locate lunar ice that might be similarly used to support long-term missions on the moon. Teams pitch an engineering design for a lunar rover that would simulate an astronaut exploring the lunar surface while overcoming its various obstacles on a different planet in space. The competition expanded in 1996 to include high school teams -- only to evolve again in 2014 as the NASA Human Exploration Rover Challenge. It now has seen more than 15,000 student participants.

Festivities continue at PCB Scottish Festival
PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. (WMBB) – The kilts and bagpipes were in full display Saturday at the 31st annual Scottish Festival. The celebration kicked off Friday night, marking the first time in festival history that the event spanned two days. Gates opened at 9 a.m. Saturday morning at Frank Brown Park in Panama City Beach. The event featured pipe bands, highland games, kids' activities, axe throwing, a petting zoo, and dozens of vendors to explore. The main event kicked off at noon with the opening ceremonies, followed by Irish dancing and live music throughout the day. PCB Scottish Festival hosts first ever 2-day event Officials say the reason it's the largest and longest-running Scottish festival in the Panhandle is because of the local representation. 'Most people don't know it, but there is a very large Scottish community in Panama City, and there's very large ones everywhere, just not everybody knows it. We have many, many clan tents of families, the Scottish families, representing their families. You can come in and find out if you don't know, just go to any one of them and they'll get your name and they'll look it up and they'll tell you which clan you belong to,' PCB Scottish Festival Committee Member Bill McCurdy said. The festivities wrapped up at about 5:30 Saturday evening. If you want to learn more about the clans or the festival, click here. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Wolfgang Puck Reveals His New Dishes for the 97th Oscars Governors Ball
Chef Wolfgang Puck and his culinary team are back for the 31st annual Oscars Governors Ball — where they'll be serving his beloved staples alongside some inventive new dishes. (Read Puck's history of catering the Governors Ball here.) "We always have some new things but people really like the tradition a lot," the legendary chef told Los Angeles at the Oscars Governors Ball preview on Tuesday, Feb. 25. "We have to make our chicken pot pie, for Prince Albert and Barbra Streisand in case she shows up, but many other people too. And then we have new dishes, like this year, we have the [Pad] Thai noodles, and we make them with ginger, garlic and a little Champagne," he said as poured the alcohol into a sizzling stir-fry. "I love Asian influence," said Puck regarding the cultural twist this year. "We have Chinois, our Asian restaurant, and then we have Merois at the Pendry hotel. I've always loved Asian food — I love spices." Asian food is highlighted across this year's menu with small plate stations featuring sushi and sashimi alongside izakaya favorites like chicken karaage. This will complement tray-passed items like Duck Bao Buns and Miso Cod Lettuce Wraps. Among the standby favorites are his signature Smoked Salmon Oscar Matzohs, Aged White Cheddar Mac & Cheese and Pea Agnolotti Pasta. Another returning dish, which Eric Klein, Senior Vice President of Culinary-Partner of Wolfgang Puck Catering, presided over at the preview, is the Miyazaki Wagyu — "which is one our favorite beefs [we've had] for the last five-six years already, people love it, so we have to do it all the time," Puck said. Chef Elliot Grover (who oversees Cut at 45 Park Lane) will join forces with Puck for the third time in a row to bring "a taste of London" to Hollywood. 'Elliot is doing the Beef Wellington," Puck said, "and one of his famous [dishes] in England — fish and chips: it's nice and crispy fish with some good potatoes." In addition to the usual comfort food options, the chef and his catering team have added special "Late-Night Classics" to the menu, with bites like sliders, chicken tenders and french fries. "We're going to make some bar food," Klein chimed in. The culinary experience is topped off with an extensive dessert menu: pastries, ice cream, cookies, bonbons and the iconic golden chocolate Oscar. "We have many desserts," Puck says. "Even from Austria we have the apple strudel — this is really delicious with marzipan ice cream.' To pair with Puck's curated menu are signature cocktails from Tequila Don Julio, created by famed mixologist Charles Joly and 2024's World Best Bar Handshake Speakeasy from Mexico City. The "Standing Ovation" cocktail is a take on the espresso martini — made with Tequila Alma Miel, and rimmed with gold, smoked sea-salt and vanilla, and another favorite is "The Clear Winner" (with Tequila Don Julio Reposado, hibiscus tea, tamarind syrup, lime juice, and grapefruit juice), alongside a Gimlet. "I wanted to create something that was people-pleasing," said Handshake's mixologist Eric Van Beek. "Even if you like boozy drinks, the drinks we created are easy-going." Wines for the evening are from returning French partner Clarendelle & Domaine Clarence Dillon: Clarendelle Bordeaux Blanc 2023 (white), Le Clarence de Haut-Brion 2015 (a red) and a new Clarendelle Bordeaux Rose 2022 — alongside a Clarendelle Amberwine 2021 to pair with desserts. And for the first year, Champagne Lallier will be the exclusive Champagne featured at all Oscars events and the Oscars are adding a sake partner for the Governors Ball as well (to complement Puck's Asian additions). The 97th Oscars premieres live this Sunday, March 2, 2025, at 4 p.m. PST/7 p.m. EST on ABC.
