UN envoy, 5+5 JMC review commitment to ceasefire agreement across Libya
The UN envoy to Libya Hanna Tetteh has met with the Joint Military Commission 5+5 (JMC) in Tunis to discuss progress of the implementation of the Ceasefire Agreement and means of sustaining it, UNSMIL said in a statement on Thursday. UNSMIL added that the 5+5 JMC had reiterated its commitment and subcommittees to sustain the ceasefire agreement including withdrawal of the "foreign forces,foreign fighters and mercenaries in support of security and stability in Libya." "The 5+5 JMC stressed the importance of making progress in the political process in order to facilitate the security track in the country." UNSMIL added.

5+5 Joint Military Commission: Reopening coastal road very soon
The 5+5 Joint Military Commission (JMC), concluded meetings in Sirte in the presence of a UNSMIL delegation, and announced that reopening the coastal road would be very soon after all requirements had been done. The 5+5 JMC hailed the swearing in of the Government of National Unity in Tobruk, welcoming the visit of the Prime Minister, Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah, to its meetings in Sirte hours after being sworn in. The 5+5 JMC hailed the commitment of the field commanders to the ceasefire agreement since October 23, 2020, and the role of the subcommittees that had done a lot of work such as removing mines and war remnants since February 10 to pave the way for reopening the coastal road. It also said the members would meet soon (in two weeks maximum) to assess the readiness for reopening the coastal road, reiterating the call on the Security Council and stakeholders to abide by Berlin Conference conclusions to oblige the countries that brought mercenaries to Libya to withdraw them immediately. "We have also talked with the UNSMIL teams about the work limitations and process of the UN monitors on Libyan soil." The 5+5 JMC explained. Tags: 5+5 Military Committee coastal road
