Royal Mint unveil Royal Family coin worth £4,110 - it features one Princess

Princess Anne is the only daughter of the late Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh The very first official UK coin celebrating the Princess Royal has been revealed to mark Anne's 75th birthday and her 'remarkable lifetime of service'. The Royal Mint's commemorative £5 piece, dubbed its 'Anne-iversary coin', was personally approved by the Princess. It showcases a portrait of the King's sister wearing her Aquamarine Pineflower Tiara, with her hair arranged in her signature bouffant. Surrounding the image is the tribute 'The Princess Royal – Celebrating 75 Years – Duty and Devotion', honouring Anne's unwavering Royal commitment across the decades. Anne, often regarded as the hardest-working member of the Royal Family, turns 75 on August 15, but has so far insisted her milestone should only be publicly recognised through a charity forum she hosted at Buckingham Palace in June. Rebecca Morgan, director of commemorative coin at the Royal Mint, said: "For the first time in British numismatic history, we are honoured to celebrate the Princess Royal on an official UK coin. Her Royal Highness's unwavering commitment to public service, charitable work, and support of His Majesty's armed forces over seven and a half decades makes her truly deserving of this tribute." To the right of the portrait, Princess Anne's official coat of arms is depicted, while on the obverse, the King is shown, having given the final approval in honour of his sister. Thomas T Docherty, the coin's creator, said it reflected the Princess's 'strength of character' and 'understated elegance'. The portrait of Anne's head is based on a photograph of the Princess taken by John Swannell, a Royal Photographic Society fellow, and shows her staring directly at the camera. Mr Docherty said: "I wanted to capture Her Royal Highness's remarkable legacy and dedication to public service. "The portrait reflects her strength of character and unwavering commitment to was really by observing Princess Anne and looking at the role she plays within not only her family but the nation and the Commonwealth that formed inspiration for the design of the coin. "She has, I would say, a kind of understated elegance and strength." Mr Docherty then continued: "Being Scottish, I admire the Princess Royal's dedication to Scottish organisations and communities, and I hope this coin serves as a fitting tribute." The art deco diamond and aquamarine Cartier tiara Anne wears was a wedding anniversary gift from King George VI to his wife, Queen Elizabeth, later the Queen Mother. She then passed it on as a wedding gift to her granddaughter Anne in 1973. The Princess is also depicted wearing an aquamarine pendant and earrings, which are believed to have been made from the same tiara when Anne had it altered in the 1990s. Princess Anne is the only daughter of the late Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. She has survived a kidnapping attempt, competed in the Olympics and spent decades supporting her mother before becoming a vital part of the King's slimmed-down working monarchy. In 2024, the Princess undertook nearly 400 official engagements – more than any other Royal Family member – despite being hospitalised for five nights in intensive care after a suspected horse-related incident. The commemorative coin is available to purchase from the Royal Mint's website on July 18, costing £17.50 for the brilliant uncirculated edition. Other versions of the £5 coin are also available, with a silver proof priced at £110, a silver proof piedfort costing £208, and a gold proof for £4,110. The coin is also being sold in three sets, each featuring either a single George VI threepence or florin or multiple George VI coins from 1950, the year the Princess was born. The prices range from £25 to £4,500.

Steelers countdown to kickoff — No. 75: a history of the number and who wore it best

The Steelers countdown to kickoff is here — and we're at 75 days until Pittsburgh faces off against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium. In the spirit of the countdown, we're taking a look at the history of No. 75 and the players who wore it best. Current Steelers No. 75 wearer: N/A There isn't a current wearer of No. 75 on the Steelers roster — and for good reason. The jersey was officially retired in 2014 out of respect for arguably the greatest defender in Pittsburgh history. Last five Steelers to wear No. 75: Best No. 75 in Steelers history: DT Joe Greene There's no debating this jersey number — 'Mean' Joe Greene was the greatest Steeler to ever don No. 75. Greene, who played with the Steelers from 1969 to 1981, is widely regarded as the cornerstone of the Steel Curtain defense — considered one of the greatest defensive units in NFL history, which led Pittsburgh to four Super Bowl titles. While sacks didn't become an official statistic until 1982, Greene's unofficial 77.5 sacks would have ranked as the fourth-most by a Steeler all-time, behind James Harrison, Cam Heyward, and T.J. Watt. He is the only Steeler to have won the Defensive Player of the Year twice, and he has been named All-Pro eight times. Greene is not only one of the greatest Steelers of all time — his impact changed the Steel City brand of sports forever. Mazagon Dock investors should not get swayed by narrative and newsflow

Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd's shares rose 5% on Tuesday to ₹3,306. This is the first significant bounce after the stock dropped almost every day from its all-time high of ₹3,775 seen in May, just before the dismal March quarter (Q4FY25) results were declared. What might have rekindled some interest in the stock is JM Financial's note indicating a medium probability that the stock may be included in the MSCI India Index. The index rebalancing may be announced on 7 August. Investors must be cautious of the news flow and narrative surrounding the Mazagon stock, which is being viewed as a defence sector play. However, this does not necessarily mean superior profitability versus the global shipbuilding industry. Management has clarified that their sustainable profitability margin will be in line with the global shipbuilding industry at about 15% at the profit before tax (PBT) level. Also Read: Tata Motors' JLR navigates a tougher road in FY26 Management has guided for about 10% growth in revenue for FY26, which comes to about ₹12,500 crore and PBT of ₹2,000 crore based on the margin guidance. After accounting for corporate tax at 25%, net profit after tax should be about ₹1,500 crore. But it must be noted that Mazagon's PBT margins for FY25 and FY24 are in the range of 23-24%, far above the guidance of 15%. So, it is likely that the company may well report higher margins in FY26, too. Nirmal Bang Institutional Equities has estimated Mazagon's FY26 net profit at ₹2,904 crore. At the current market capitalization of ₹1.3 trillion, this translates into a price-to-earnings ratio of around 45x, which isn't cheap. Perhaps then, the Street is looking at a narrative of how the order book is going to expand multifold. No guarantees Mazagon expects the order book to grow from ₹32,000 crore at FY25 end to ₹1.3 trillion by FY26 on the back of contracts for additional submarines in the Project 75-AS and Project -75 (I) categories. The order book to annual revenue ratio translates into almost 10x FY25 sales, which means strong revenue visibility. Also Read: Juniper Hotels' ambitious growth targets fail to excite investors Mazagon has the technical capabilities to execute a large order book. But it does not guarantee healthy profitability, going by the recent history of provisioning for losses in certain contracts. The company anticipates losses in the contracts for the supply of fast patrol vessels (FPV) to the Indian Coast Guard and also to Denmark. As a result, its provisions have jumped up to ₹747 crore in FY25 from ₹169 crore in FY24. The extent of actual loss will be reviewed in the future, and the provisions will be adjusted accordingly. Amid this, Mazagon continues to focus on the profitable segment of submarines, wherein it has expanded capacity from the construction of 6 submarines to 11. Besides submarines, it will also be able to build 10 major warships as it has acquired land for ship projects. The additional facilities would require capital expenditure of ₹4,000 crore. Even though Mazagon has an agreement with the US Navy for repairing ships, it does not have the infrastructure to handle large ships. So, it will only look for contracts to repair ships that are compatible in size with its shipyard. Also Read: Office space demand gets a push from domestic firms More order announcements are likely in the future, but there could be a long gap before order wins translate into actual revenue. For e.g. the delay in the design and finalization of submarine models would mean Project 75-AS revenues would begin reflecting in revenue only in FY28. Investors would do well to ignore the noise and focus on the valuation that captures most of the near-term positives.
