‘Ayya': Cheran announces biopic on PMK founder S. Ramadoss; Aari Arujunan to play the lead
Tamil filmmaker Cheran on Friday (July 25) announced Ayya, a biopic on Pattali Makkal Katchi founder S Ramadoss. Announced on Ramadoss' 87th birthday, the film has actor Aari Arujunan playing the politician. Cheran unveiled first-look posters on his X handle. The posters feature Aari as Ramadoss, orating to his followers. The tagline reads, 'The Lion of Tamil Nadu.' The posters hint that the film will touch upon the 1987 Vanniyar reservation agitation spearheaded by Ramadoss, which forced the DMK government led by M. Karunanidhi to create a 'most backwards' quota with 20 per cent reservation in education and employment in 1989. Ayya has music scored by Sundaramurthy KS (8 Thottakkal, Bommai Nayagi), cinematography by Ekhambram and editing by Pon Kathiresh. GKM Tamil Kumaran produces the film under his Tamil Kumaran Productions banner. Meanwhile, wishes have been pouring in for the PMK founder. Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK president M.K. Stalin and AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami, and other leaders extended their birthday greetings to S. Ramadoss on Friday. Mr. Stalin in a social media post wished the PMK founder a long life and wished that he continue his public life. In a social media post, Mr. Palaniswami said he called Mr. Ramadoss over phone to express his birthday greetings.

3BHK trailer out: Actor Siddharth aims to fulfil his father's wish of owning a house in this emotional drama
ANI 26 Jun 2025, 15:09 GMT+10 New Delhi [India], June 26 (ANI): Siddharth will be next seen in the Tamil movie '3BHK', which also stars Sarath Kumar in the lead role. The makers have released the much-anticipated trailer of the film. Directed by '8 Thottakkal' fame director Sai Ganesh, the film is slated to release in theatres on July 4. The three-minute, four-second trailer gives a glimpse of a middle-class family that aspires to buy a home in a city. The heartwarming trailer highlights the struggle of the family of four led by Sarath Kumar a they live in a rental home. Sarath Kumar, the head of the family, has a long-standing dream of buying a house for his family to achieve respect in society. When unfulfilled, he places the trust in his son, Siddharth, to buy the house in his stead. As per the trailer, Siddharth also has his share of struggles because his brain is 'allergic to books'. Failing to secure a well-paying job, Siddharth appears to be frustrated and angry at times, as shown in the trailer. Take a look at the trailer here, Siddharth was last seen in the film 'Test'. The film starred Siddharth as a season cricketer while Madhavan's Saravanan is a scientist struggling to mount his project. Nayanthara plays Madhavan's wife. It was directed by S. Sashikanth. (ANI)

Siddharth-Sri Ganesh's 3 BHK gets a release date
Sri Ganesh has previously helmed 8 Thottakkal and Kuruthi Aattam. 3 BHK also stars Yogi Babu, Meetha Raghunath and Chaithra Achar. The lattermost, known for her role in the Kannada film Sapta Sagaradaache Ello – Side B, is making her Tamil debut with this film. The technical crew of the film comprises cinematographers Dinesh Krishnan B and Jithin Stanislaus, editor Ganesh Siva, art director Vinoth Rajkumar N, and music director Amrit Ramnath.
