Indian restaurant chain to open new spot on busy Glasgow square

The plans were approved in February. Founded in 2010, Dishoom was designed to match the Irani cafes that were popular in Mumbai in the 1960s. The chain's first restaurant opened in Covent Garden and the company now operates 10 sites across the UK between Edinburgh, London, Birmingham and Manchester.

Dishoom confirms it will open Glasgow restaurant this summer
The award-winning Indian Restaurant chain will open the doors to its second Scottish eatery on Nelson Mandela Place in the summer, Glasgow World reports. It will take over two units, one of which was previously occupied by Absurd Bird which closed suddenly in July 2022, and has a agreed a 20-year lease.
