New AI chatbot keeps fact-checking president Donald Trump on Truth Social
Donald Trump 's social media platform, Truth Social, has launched a new AI-powered search engine called Truth Search AI.
Despite its integration into Trump's platform and a stated aim to provide 'direct, reliable answers', the AI has contradicted his statements on several core policies.
The AI tool has indicated that evidence does not support Trump's claim about the positive impact of his tariff policy on the stock market.
Truth Search AI also described Trump's assertions regarding the 2020 election as 'baseless' and stated that crime in Washington, D.C. is 'not totally out of control'.
The AI feature is developed by Perplexity, an artificial intelligence company that recently faced criticism for allegedly scraping websites without permission.
