NTR district to develop circuit tourism routes
Vijayawada: The district tourism department of NTR district is working to finalise circuit tourism plans aimed at promoting tourism on a large scale by connecting various tourist destinations across NTR district, along with the neighbouring Guntur, Krishna, and Palnadu districts. The tourism department is preparing one-day, two-day, three-day, and four-day circuit tourism routes that connect multiple tourist destinations to attract visitors. In NTR district, the department identified Gandhi Hill, Kondapalli Fort, Bapu Museum, Bhavani Island, Dr BR Ambedkar Smriti Vanam Park, Durga Temple, and other tourist spots, which will be included in various tourism packages. With regard to Krishna and Guntur districts, the tourism department is considering including Manginapudi and Hamsaladeevi beaches and Mopidevi Sri Subramanyeswara Swamy and Pedakallepalli Shivalayam temples, along with Mangalagiri Panakala Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple and Eco Park in Mangalagiri. "We are working to finalise separate tourist destinations for each package, which will range from one to four days. For a one-day circuit package, the packages are being designed to cover all the major tourist destinations within NTR districts, while packages beyond two days will include destinations from neighbouring districts," NTR district tourism officer A Shilpa told TOI. "Before unveiling the tourism packages, the tourism department will impart training to around 30 youths as tourist guides, wherein interested individuals will be provided training in soft skills, including training in a few regional languages like Hindi, Tamil, and others, besides etiquettes. The training programme will be organised for around two weeks," the DTO added.

50 youths to be trained as tourist guides in NTR dist
Vijayawada: With a focus on transforming NTR district, particularly Vijayawada, into a tourism hub and providing appropriate tour guide support to tourists keen on exploring various spots in and around the city, the district administration will train about 50 youths who will be exclusively designated as tourist guides to offer better services to to TOI, NTR district tourism officer A Shilpa said, "Fifty youths who are locals of Vijayawada and are aware of the rich history, culture, heritage, and legacy of the city and its various tourist sites will be trained for a period of seven days on soft skills and capacity building. This will enable them to explain the history and significance of tourist spots in various languages for the convenience of tourists visiting Vijayawada from different states. "The tourism officer said individuals with basic English and Hindi communication skills will be trained by the tourism department. Their skills will be further fine-tuned to enhance the tourist experience and provide enriching information about the sites."We are yet to fix any pay for the tourist guides. This will be finalized after the completion of the training programme and once the tourism packages are officially rolled out, which will happen in the coming days," Shilpa told TOI.
