NTR district to develop circuit tourism routes
The tourism department is preparing one-day, two-day, three-day, and four-day circuit tourism routes that connect multiple tourist destinations to attract visitors.
In NTR district, the department identified Gandhi Hill, Kondapalli Fort, Bapu Museum, Bhavani Island, Dr BR Ambedkar Smriti Vanam Park, Durga Temple, and other tourist spots, which will be included in various tourism packages. With regard to Krishna and Guntur districts, the tourism department is considering including Manginapudi and Hamsaladeevi beaches and Mopidevi Sri Subramanyeswara Swamy and Pedakallepalli Shivalayam temples, along with Mangalagiri Panakala Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple and Eco Park in Mangalagiri.
"We are working to finalise separate tourist destinations for each package, which will range from one to four days. For a one-day circuit package, the packages are being designed to cover all the major tourist destinations within NTR districts, while packages beyond two days will include destinations from neighbouring districts," NTR district tourism officer A Shilpa told TOI.
The circuit tourism packages, which are being prepared under the supervision of NTR district collector Dr G Lakshmisha, were supposed to be launched a month ago.

However, due to the Yogandhra initiative, the process to launch the circuit tourism packages has been expedited.
"Before unveiling the tourism packages, the tourism department will impart training to around 30 youths as tourist guides, wherein interested individuals will be provided training in soft skills, including training in a few regional languages like Hindi, Tamil, and others, besides etiquettes. The training programme will be organised for around two weeks," the DTO added.

In 2023, revenue collection stood at over Rs 4 crore, while in 2024, there was a slight dip with over Rs 3.61 crore. Sources in the Chandigarh administration said that besides people from the Tricity, a large number of people from other parts of the country also visit Rock Garden. "Though the number of tourists remains high on weekends, a large number of tourists visit Rock Garden on weekdays too. Moreover, since the Rock Garden is near Sukhna Lake and Bird Park, many tourists prefer to visit all destinations in one go," sources in the Chandigarh administration said. IAF Heritage Museum loses altitude as visitor inflow dips
Chandigarh: The initial burst of enthusiasm about the Indian Air Force Heritage Museum in the Tricity seems to be waning. The dedicated Air Force heritage centre launched by Union defence minister Rajnath Singh with much fanfare in May, 2023, has suffered a significant dip in footfall since its inception. Its expansion plan has also remained restricted to paper for over one year. "Initially, Indian Air Force and Chandigarh administration were in talks to expand the IAF Heritage Museum to start its second phase. Preparation of an MoU was discussed and both parties prepared points for the same. However, there has been no progress for more than one year," sources in the Chandigarh administration revealed. Despite the tourist centre boasting of modern paraphernalia like virtual and augmented reality, holograms, simulators, and electromechanical enclosures, the flow of visitors has gone down. Sources in the administration said that visitors from the Tricity thronged the IAF Heritage Museum initially but the inflow started thinning down. Now, most of the visitors are people from outside the Tricity. As per records of the Chandigarh administration, 58,273 people visited the Air Force Museum in the eight months from its inception on May 8, 2023 to December, 2023. According to records, Chandigarh administration earned significant revenue from the IAF Heritage Museum.
