NTR district to develop circuit tourism routes
Vijayawada: The district tourism department of NTR district is working to finalise circuit tourism plans aimed at promoting tourism on a large scale by connecting various tourist destinations across NTR district, along with the neighbouring Guntur, Krishna, and Palnadu districts. The tourism department is preparing one-day, two-day, three-day, and four-day circuit tourism routes that connect multiple tourist destinations to attract visitors. In NTR district, the department identified Gandhi Hill, Kondapalli Fort, Bapu Museum, Bhavani Island, Dr BR Ambedkar Smriti Vanam Park, Durga Temple, and other tourist spots, which will be included in various tourism packages. With regard to Krishna and Guntur districts, the tourism department is considering including Manginapudi and Hamsaladeevi beaches and Mopidevi Sri Subramanyeswara Swamy and Pedakallepalli Shivalayam temples, along with Mangalagiri Panakala Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple and Eco Park in Mangalagiri. "We are working to finalise separate tourist destinations for each package, which will range from one to four days. For a one-day circuit package, the packages are being designed to cover all the major tourist destinations within NTR districts, while packages beyond two days will include destinations from neighbouring districts," NTR district tourism officer A Shilpa told TOI. "Before unveiling the tourism packages, the tourism department will impart training to around 30 youths as tourist guides, wherein interested individuals will be provided training in soft skills, including training in a few regional languages like Hindi, Tamil, and others, besides etiquettes. The training programme will be organised for around two weeks," the DTO added.

Massive campaign on Yoga from today
Vijayawada: NTR district collector G Lakshmisha conducted a teleconference on Tuesday and informed the officials that the state government decided to launch a massive campaign for one month. Speaking on the occasion, he announced that the district administration would launch a massive campaign on Yoga on May 21 and will continue till June 21 to mark the International Yoga Day to be celebrated on June 21. He said the district administration will conduct Yogandhra programmes at Kondapalli Fort, Bapu Museum, Gandhi Hill and other places and explain to the people the importance and benefits of Yoga. He urged the officials of medical and health, education, panchayat raj, revenue, municipal and other departments to organise programmes in the government offices and participate in the Yoga practice. He asked the schools and colleges to conduct essay-writing, debating and other competitions on Yoga. Vijayawada Municipal Corporation commissioner Dhyana Chandra HM, Revenue Divisional Officers Kavuri Chaitanya, K Balakrishna, K Madhuri and other officials participated in the teleconference.
