Stocks to watch: ITC, Tata Investment, Tata Power, MCX among shares in focus today
Shares of DLF, Tata Investment Corp, Siemens, Marico, Aurobindo Pharma will remain in focus as the companies are all set to announces Q1 results 2025 today. The FMCG giant delivered a mixed performance in the first quarter. Revenue jumped 20.6% year-on-year to ₹ 19,749 crore, surpassing expectations, while EBITDA saw a modest increase of 2.9%, reaching ₹ 6,261 crore. Tata Power posted a 9% increase in its consolidated net profit for the first quarter, reaching ₹ 1,060 crore, up from ₹ 970 crore in the same period last year. Delhivery announced its Q1 earnings, reporting a 67% year-on-year increase in net profit to ₹ 91 crore. The company reported a 4.4% year-on-year rise in net profit for the June quarter, reaching ₹ 1,364 crore, up from ₹ 1,306 crore in the same period last year. The Kerala-based bank reported a 14.7% year-on-year decline in its net profit for Q1FY26, falling to ₹ 861.8 crore. The company has secured an advance work order from BSNL valued at ₹ 166.38 crore for service-related tasks, with the project scheduled for completion by July 31, 2028, according to the terms specified in BSNL's AWO. MCX reported a strong performance in Q1FY26, with net profit jumping 49.9% quarter-on-quarter to ₹ 203 crore, while revenue rose 28.2% to ₹ 373 crore. PNB Housing Finance revealed a major leadership reshuffle, which includes changes among senior management and the resignation of its chief executive. BharatNet Phase 3: BSNL awards ₹1,901.11 crore work order to ITI, Tera Software for northeast
NEW DELHI: State-controlled telecom carrier Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited ( BSNL ) has awarded a ₹1,901.11 crore advanced work order (AWO) to ITI Limited and its consortium partner Tera Software for the construction and maintenance of the middle-mile network under package 15 of the amended BharatNet programme. '...the Chairman and Managing Director, BSNL, hereby place upon M/s ITI Limited (consortium partner – M/s Tera Software Limited) an Advance Work Order (AWO) for design, supply, construction, installation, upgradation, operation and maintenance of middle mile network of Bharatnet, in NER II (i.e., Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland and Manipur) against package number 15 at an all-inclusive value of ₹1901,10,51,507.64,' BSNL said in the agreement document. The deal value comprises ₹1,168.06 crore as capital expenditure (capex), ₹700.84 crore as operating expenditure (opex) for the newly constructed network, and ₹32.21 crore as opex for the existing network. Based on the AWO, BSNL and ITI shall sign an agreement. Subsequently, route-wise work orders will be issued by the concerned circle within the AWO quantities allotted against the respective circles, according to the document. The agreement is valid for 10 years. ITI's shares closed 0.63% lower at ₹321.25 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Thursday. In November last year, the telecom PSU with its consortium partner emerged as L1 or lowest bidder in BharatNet Phase-3 programme in the states of Himachal Pradesh for package no. 8, and in West Bengal, and Andaman & Nicobar Islands for package no. 9 with total order value of ₹3,022 crores. BharatNet Phase-3 Project is envisaged for the development (creation, upgradation and operations and maintenance) of a middle-mile network of BharatNet on a Design Build Operate and Maintain (DBOM) model for a total of 16 packages/circles. ETTelecom reported on August 7, 2024, that the Telecommunications Consultants of India Limited (TCIL), ITI Limited, indigenous optical fiber cable (OFC) makers HFCL, STL, Polycab, and Pratap Technocrats , among others, emerged as the bidders for the third phase of the Centre's ambitious BharatNet program. Indigenous OFC makers Polycab, STL and HFCL presented solo bids while as many as 18 bidders, including G R Infraprojects, Vindhya Telelinks, Pace Digitek Infra Private Limited, Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), Bharat Electronics Limited, Megha Engineering, and others, took the consortium route. A total of 21 bidders put in their bids under the BharatNet 3 program for Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh (East), Uttar Pradesh (West), Karnataka, Uttarakhand, Bihar, Himachal Pradesh, West Bengal, Jammu & Kashmir, North East Region – I and North East Region – II, and others. In early 2024, the Centre rolled out the BharatNet III program with an outlay of ₹65,000-crore. The tender is part of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government's ₹1.39 lakh crore BharatNet program which aims to provide last-mile broadband connectivity, and upgrade the existing 164,000 gram panchayats, as well as, connect 47,000 gram panchayats under the new model.

Tera Software-ITI consortium wins Rs 1901 crore BharatNet Phase-3 project in Northeast
Tera Software Limited, in consortium with ITI Limited (a Public Sector Undertaking under the Department of Telecommunications), has received an Advance Work Order (AWO) under the BharatNet Project for the Middle Mile Network – NER-II. The scope of the project covers the northeastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, and Manipur under Package No. 15. The total value of the awarded contract is ₹1,901.10 crore (Rupees One Thousand Nine Hundred One Crore Ten Lakh Fifty-One Thousand Five Hundred Seven and Sixty-Four Paisa). The project includes the design, supply, construction, installation, upgradation, operation, and maintenance of the Middle Mile Network infrastructure. This contract falls under BharatNet Phase-3, which is aimed at the creation, upgradation, and O&M (Operation and Maintenance) of a Middle Mile Network using the Design-Build-Operate-Maintain (DBOM) model. The objective of BharatNet Phase-3 is to enable broadband connectivity to 2,50,000 Gram Panchayats across India, as part of the Digital Bharat Nidhi initiative. Egyptian FM addresses Arab Women Organization Conference opening
Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty, participated in the opening session of the 10th General Conference of the Arab Women Organization (AWO) on Monday. The conference is held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi with the theme 'Communication, Empowerment and Protection for Women and Girls from Cyber Violence and Violence Resulting from Technology and Artificial Intelligence.' The opening session was attended by Maya Morsy, Minister of Social Solidarity and President of the AWO's Supreme Council; Fadia Kiwan, Director General of the AWO; and Counsellor Amal Ammar, President of the National Council for Women (NCW). During the event, Ambassador Mervat Tallawy, former Minister of Insurance and Social Affairs and former head of the NCW, was honoured, receiving shields from the NCW and the AWO. Minister Abdelatty delivered a speech during the opening session, emphasizing the priority President El-Sisi gives to the role of women as essential partners in societal development. He noted that the AWO, whose headquarters Egypt hosts, serves as an important platform for exchanging successful ideas and experiences in supporting and empowering women in all aspects of life. The Foreign Minister highlighted the importance of protecting women from cyber violence and violence stemming from technology and artificial intelligence. He stressed the necessity of finding the best methods to protect women and girls from cyber violence and its risks to ensure their safety in the digital society. Abdelatty emphasized the importance of joint Arab action in exploring opportunities and creating pathways for exchanging best practices to end this phenomenon. He referred to the introduction of legislation and initiatives in Egypt to maintain women's safety in cyberspace, including the 'Anti-Cybercrime Law' and the 'Telecommunications Regulation Law,' as well as the launch of the 'Technology Hackathon' and awareness campaigns in cooperation with social media platforms. The Foreign Minister also reviewed Egypt's experience in promoting women's rights, empowerment, and protection from all forms of violence. He pointed out that dedicating a pillar of the National Strategy for Human Rights to enhancing women's rights demonstrates the priority the Egyptian state, across all its institutions, gives to this issue. He also mentioned the launch of the National Strategy for the Empowerment of Egyptian Women 2030, women's ascent to judicial positions, and the increased percentage of their representation in parliament. At the conclusion of his speech, Minister Abdelatty extended greetings to Egyptian and Arab women, with a special tribute to Palestinian women standing steadfast in defence of the Palestinian people's rights against Israeli actions in the Gaza Strip.
