AZ Martinez overwhelmed by support she got from the outside world: 'Unexpected talaga'
It was another dream come true for AZ Martinez as she appeared on 'It's Showtime' alongside her final duo partner, River Joseph, on Wednesday. During their guest appearance on the noontime show, the 'Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition' Big Four finalist shared that it had always been her dream to step onto the 'It's Showtime' stage. The Sparkle star expressed how overwhelmed she was by the outpouring of support from the outside world, which came as a complete surprise to her. 'Kasi diba sa bahay [ni Kuya], sa garden may naririnig kang mga tao. Wala akong naririnig na sumisigaw ng AZ. So sabi ko, oh my god wala sigurong nagmamahal sa akin. Pero paglabas ko, ang daming LED signs, banners, mukha ko," AZ said. "Haya sobrang overwhelmed ako. Unexpected talaga,' she added. During the Big Night at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City, several lamp posts in Araneta City were adorned with tributes to AZ, her duo partner River, and her fan ship with Ralph De Leon. An LED truck, billboard, and even a bus showing support for AZ and Ralph were also spotted around the area. AZ Martinez and Will Ashley hopped on the viral "I woke up in a new Bugatti" TikTok trend with a hilarious take! AZ shared their entry on her page, where she could be seen getting pulled off-frame with comedic speed by Will, so fast that she nearly ended up flat on the floor. In contrast, Will's version of the drag was more laid-back and gentle, adding to the playful contrast to their takes. "Bat may halong galit 'yung paghila mo sakin," AZ wrote in the caption. "HWHQAHAHAHAA SORIIIII," Will commented. On her Instagram broadcast channel, AZ shared a behind-the-scenes look at the making of their TikTok, showing the moment Will pulled her offscreen. The two burst into laughter afterward, with Will quickly helping her get back on her feet. AZ and Will were part of the Big Four of "Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition." Will and his duo Ralph De Leon (RaWi) finished as the second big placer duo during the Big Night, while AZ and her duo River Joseph (AZVer) were named the fourth big placers. AZ Martinez says she'd pick River Joseph 'again and again' as her final duo
AZ Martinez is full love and appreciation for her final duo on 'Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition,' River Joseph. On 'Unang Hirit' on Wednesday, AZVer answered burning questions while recreating their Big Jump Challenge: balancing boxes between their bodies. The hosts asked AZ: 'If ikaw ang nakakuha ng number 1 spot at ikaw ang unang pipili, sino ang pipiliin mong ka-duo?' AZ answered, 'For me, lalong lalo na na-experience ko having River as my duo, I'd still pick him again and again and again.' To recall, during the final duo formation, AZ was down to two choices: River and Esnyr. AZ picked River, describing him as a hero and a light among the housemates. River for his part happily accepted. AZVer also discussed their 'pause and pray method,' which has earned them the nickname 'the prayerful duo.' AZ said that this is one of the reasons why they won the Big Jump Challenge. 'Naniniwala ako na surrender everything to God and He has plans for us,' the Kapuso actress said. 'If it's meant for us, it's for us. So dun talaga 'ko naniniwala. Always do everything through faith and by faith only.' AZ added that when she and River pray, she says, 'Don't trust in what we know. Don't trust in our own understanding, but only through Him. Sa Kanya lang talaga and do everything by faith.' River also said, 'Also in plans where you plan to give up, you're overthinking, you're anxious, I think prayer is the best thing to do.' River said that when they felt like quitting the task, praying helped them win and reach the Big 4. 'It was a prayer, and that's all God,' he said. AZ and River were named fourth big placers of 'Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition.' The pair of Brent Manalo and Mika Salamanca (BreKa) is the Big Winner duo.
