Dundee's Aaron Donnelly earns summer international call up
Dundee defender Aaron Donnelly will join the Northern Ireland squad for a summer double-header after being called up by Michael O'Neill. The 21-year-old is hoping to add to his debut cap when O'Neill's side face friendlies against Iceland and Denmark. Donnelly joined the Dark Blues on a three-year deal in January after impressing on loan last season and is expected to have a big future at Dens Park. His aim of having a big international future has been boosted by another call-up for Northern Ireland as they prepare for World Cup qualifying in September. A former captain of the U/21 side, Donnelly made his senior debut in a friendly against Andorra last June. He will join up with the 26-man squad on June 3 before heading to Copenhagen to face Denmark on June 7. They then head back to Northern Ireland for a home clash with Iceland at Windsor Park on June 10. Also in the squad is former St Johnstone midfielder Ali McCann and ex-Dee goalie Conor Hazard.

Irish League brawl condemned as officials await reports after 4 players sent off
The Northern Ireland Football League has "totally condemned" the unsightly scenes that spoiled the end of Larne's match against Glentoran on Saturday evening. A brawl involving players and officials from both teams erupted on the Inver Park pitch after the final whistle, as the home team clinched the point they needed to edge out the Glens for second place in the league and secure automatic qualification for European football next season. It took several minutes to restore order, with referee Jamie Robinson handing out four red cards to Aaron Donnelly and Conor McKendry of Larne and Fuad Sule and Christie Pattison of Glentoran. However, other players could be facing retrospective action for their involvement in the distasteful scenes, as NIFL confirmed they are waiting for reports from the match officials. A spokesperson for NIFL said on Sunday: "We are aware of and totally condemn the incidents following the Larne - Glentoran game on Saturday evening", reports Belfast Live. "NIFL staff have been in contact with the match referee and the match observer to offer support, and we will await their respective official reports. "We will work with the IFA Disciplinary Committee to make sure they have all the necessary information on this matter." In a further statement, the Irish FA said: "We are aware of the matter and, should it be formally referred to the Disciplinary Committee, normal disciplinary protocols will be followed in line with established procedures."

NIFL 'totally condemns' Larne-Glentoran brawl
The Northern Ireland Football League has condemned the mass brawl which marred Larne and Glentoran's Irish Premiership match at Inver Park on Saturday. Players and officials from both clubs became involved in unsavoury scenes across the pitch following full-time as a scoreless draw gave Larne the point they needed to secure European qualification. Larne's Aaron Donnelly and Conor McKendry, and Fuad Sule and Christie Pattison of Glentoran, were all sent off by referee Jamie Robinson. The Irish FA said: "We are aware of the matter and, should it be formally referred to the Disciplinary Committee, normal disciplinary protocols will be followed in line with established procedures." 'It was really unsavoury' - Haveron on mass brawl 'You shouldn't lift your hands on a football pitch' - Devine Speaking after the game, Glentoran boss Declan Devine said he "didn't see much" of the melee. "My players stood up for each other on and off the pitch. I'd be more frustrated if my players lay down and took punches," he told BBC Sport NI. "I'm extremely proud of the players, I want fight and commitment, maybe not to the level after the game, but it takes two to tango. "There are certain players in our changing room who are frustrated with certain members of the Larne team instigating fights." Larne manager Gary Haveron described the scenes as "really unsavoury". "It is not something you want to see at games," said Haveron. "We pride ourselves on being a family club, there are a lot of kids in the stand and that is not how you end the game of football, but when someone comes on and attacks one of your team-mates it is only natural you are going to react to it and that Glentoran would react to that." Having reviewed the footage, Haveron added: "You have to say to the boys to step back because it drags on and on but there was an antagonist. "People will get punished and rightfully so, I hope the antagonist is punished the most."
