Dundee's Aaron Donnelly earns summer international call up
The 21-year-old is hoping to add to his debut cap when O'Neill's side face friendlies against Iceland and Denmark.
Donnelly joined the Dark Blues on a three-year deal in January after impressing on loan last season and is expected to have a big future at Dens Park.
His aim of having a big international future has been boosted by another call-up for Northern Ireland as they prepare for World Cup qualifying in September.
A former captain of the U/21 side, Donnelly made his senior debut in a friendly against Andorra last June.
He will join up with the 26-man squad on June 3 before heading to Copenhagen to face Denmark on June 7.
They then head back to Northern Ireland for a home clash with Iceland at Windsor Park on June 10.
Also in the squad is former St Johnstone midfielder Ali McCann and ex-Dee goalie Conor Hazard.

Celtic star shares adorable throwback pic of him in his first Hoops kit that ‘he wanted to wear all the time'

It's a dream that's become a reality for one current Celtic star. The midfield ace was plucked from local football by Ayr United as a 19-year old in 2017. He was famously still working as a lifeguard at a local leisure centre in Greenock before landing his professional contract. McCowan enjoyed a breakout year at Somerset Park in the 2019/20 season and landed a big move to the Scottish Premiership with Dundee in 2021. A stellar campaign in the 2023/24 season saw him strike 10 goals from midfield and he landed his dream move to Parkhead the following year. McCowan went on to score seven goals in 41 games across all competitions as Celtic won a league and cup double. He also struck a dramatic late winner on the opening day of this season as the champions beat St Mirren 1-0. Having grown up a Hoops fan, he's very much now living his boyhood dream. And while he now pulls on the Celts kit for real every week, he's shared a throwback pic from more than TWENTY years ago when those ambitions very much were a distant dream. McCowan took part in a Q&A on Celtic's social media channels and one fan asked him what the first Hoops kit he owned was. That saw him cast his mind back all the way to 2003. Ex-Celtic star goes wild as he does the huddle at Oasis gig with 70,000 fans McCowan joked: "No doubt probably the day I left the hospital my mum and dad had us in Celtic kit!" He then explained: "But the one I can remember is the 2003/04 Carling. "I put a picture up of me standing like that (arms outstretched) and I've got the Celtic Carling 2003 top on and I've got the bandanna on my head. "That's the first one I can remember wanting to wear all the time and wanting to put on. 4 "That's probably somewhere as well in my mum and dad's loft stinking!" Celtic then shared the very same picture on their Instagram stories, exactly as McCowan remembered it! The 2003/04 campaign was a memorable one for the Hoops who romped to the SPL title. Losing just two games all league season, Martin O'Neill's men reached 98 points and finished 17 points ahead of Rangers. Have YOU got a point for Kris Boyd? Crystal Palace want £40m Liverpool star as Marc Guehi swap 'not ruled out'
Liverpool are in talks to sign Crystal Palace captain Marc Guehi and have been made aware of the possibility of sending Harvey Elliott in the opposite direction Liverpool may be able to use Harvey Elliott in a swap deal with Crystal Palace to land Marc Guehi. The Reds opened talks earlier this week to sign Palace captain Guehi in the summer transfer window and have been made aware of the possibility of a double deal. Arne Slot is desperate to bolster his defence after Liverpool leaked a lot of goals in pre-season and the club are working to sign Guehi and Parma defender Giovanni Leoni. Guehi has entered the final year of his Palace contract and looks poised to leave for the defending Premier League champions. The Reds are hopeful of signing the England international for a fee of around £30million to £35m, while Palace are holding out for £40m. Negotiations have now been complicated by Palace's interest in Elliott, who is hoping to leave Liverpool in pursuit of regular minutes. Elliott played 53 times for Slot's side last season as they won the title, but was generally used off the substitutes' bench, starting just twice in the Premier League. He made it clear early in the summer transfer window that he would explore his options after growing frustrated with his situation. The Sun reports that Palace are keen on the 22-year-old as they consider replacements for Eberechi Eze. The club's star playmaker is being eyed by Tottenham and Arsenal and Palace know they may be forced to sell after being denied entry to the Europa League. Spurs are ready to launch a bid for Eze and believe they can sign him ahead of Arsenal, who need to sell players before they can bid. The situation has created a chain of connected transfers. Liverpool value Elliott at £40m because the midfielder has two years left on his contract. They are happy to sell him as Slot understands his desire to play more regularly as he aims for a place in the England squad for the 2026 World Cup. Eze has a £68m release clause written into his contract with the Eagles but it is set to expire on Friday. Spurs, who have lost James Maddison to an ACL injury, are not expected to trigger the clause and instead hope to sign the midfielder for below £68m. Speaking after Palace's Community Shield win over Liverpool, Palace chairman Steve Parrish said: 'Players come and go in football clubs, you know, I mean, it's a life cycle isn't it? Hopefully they're still here. That's what I'd like but we'll see.' Elliott has also been linked with RB Leipzig, who could use him to replace Chelsea-bound Xavi Simons. Brighton and West Ham have also considered a bid for Elliott, but a move is yet to materialise.

Wayne Rooney: Criticism from Birmingham minority owner Tom Brady ‘very unfair'
NFL great Brady, who became a minority shareholder at Birmingham in August 2023, said he was 'a little worried about our head coach's work ethic' during a documentary after visiting Blues' training ground the following November. Tom Brady, right, became a minority shareholder at Birmingham in August 2023 (Nick Potts/PA) Former England captain Rooney said he was 'really disappointed' at the seven-time Super Bowl winner's criticism. The ex-Everton and Manchester United striker said: 'I think Tom came in once, which was the day before a game where the days are a little bit lighter anyway, and I don't think he really understood football that well. 'But what he does understand is – he's a hard worker – we know that.' Rooney added: 'Football is not NFL – NFL works for three months a year. Players do need rest as well, so I think he's very unfair, the way he's come out and portrayed that.' Wayne Rooney was sacked by Birmingham after 15 games in charge (Bradley Collyer/PA) Birmingham were bought out by American consortium Knighthead Capital Management in the summer of 2023 and Brady became a shareholder two months later. Rooney was sacked following 15 matches after Blues had slipped to 20th in the Sky Bet Championship and the club were relegated at the end of the 2023-24 season. Under current boss Chris Davies, Birmingham bounced straight back to the second tier as League One champions last season with an English Football League record points tally of 111.
