Chelsea ready to offer £50m for Premier League striker also wanted by Man United

Chelsea are exploring a deal for Brighton striker Joao Pedro who will be allowed to leave this summer. The 23-year old missed Brighton's game against Liverpool on Monday after a training ground altercation with teammate Jan Paul Van Hecke. Chelsea are among a number of teams interested but it is understood they held a meeting on Tuesday regarding the Brazilian who cost £30million from Watford in 2023. Chelsea would be willing to offer around £50million with the possibility of other players being offered in the deal, potentially even on loan. Chelsea want to add a striker this summer and have held meetings over a move for Ipswich Town's Liam Delap also. The 22-year old has a £30million relegation clause and is also wanted by Manchester United, notably, as well as Newcastle and Everton, among several others. Meanwhile, Brighton have agreed to sign PSV Eindhoven defender Olivier Boscagli. The 27-year old will join on a free once his contract ends with the Dutch champions next month. Brighton had tried to sign the Monaco-born left-footer last summer but had an £8m offer rejected. Brighton, who have also agreed to sign Tommy Watson from Sunderland, are pursuing a deal to sign highly rated 17-year old Olympiacos striker Charalampos Kostoulas which could see Abdallah Sima go the other way. They have also made offers for Botafogo left-back Cuiabano. The 22-year old has previously been a target for Fenerbahce.

Brighton agree deal for PSV defender Olivier Boscagli on a free transfer after £8m bid was rejected last summer

Brighton have agreed to sign PSV Eindhoven defender Olivier Boscagli. The 27-year old will join on a free once his contract ends with the Dutch champions next month. Brighton had tried to sign the Monaco-born left-footer last summer but had an £8m offer rejected. The Frenchman, who joined PSV from Nice in 2019, contributed with one goal and six assists. Brighton, who have also agreed to sign Tommy Watson from Sunderland, are pursuing a deal to sign highly rated 17-year old Olympiacos striker Charalampos Kostoulas which could see Abdallah Sima go the other way. The Seagulls tried to sign the Frenchman last summer but had an £8m offer rejected Kostoulas usually operates as a No 9 but can also play behind the centre-forward or on either flank. Manchester United and Arsenal are among several other clubs keen on the teenager. Brighton have also made offers for Botafogo left-back Cuiabano. Ex-Rangers fan favourite Abdallah Sima allowed to LEAVE Brighton after Brest stint – but there's a catch

The club revealed they did make an effort to buy him in the summer, and now he might be on the move again - but with a catch. The Senegal star has had a decent season, scoring 12 goals despite the team falling out of the Champions League places they secured last season. But it seems the Premier League side don't plan to use him when he comes back again in the summer. That's because transfer guru David Ornstein says the Seagulls intend to use Sima in a partial swap deal for a teenage superstar from the continent. Ornstein posted on X, formerly Twitter: "Brighton are pursuing a deal to sign Olympiacos striker Charalampos Kostoulas. "The 17-year-old Greece youth international is viewed among Europe's best talents and Brighton have proposed around £30million plus Abdallah Sima. "But it's expected to be rejected by Olympiacos." It's unclear whether Gers or any other team would have a chance of snapping him up if the swap deal doesn't work out. Nils Koppen, recruitment chief at Ibrox, explained late last year that despite public perception, an effort was made to keep Sima. Koppen said: "The impression was that we weren't going to go back for Sima, but that's not the case. Kris Boyd explains why Celtic striker Adam Idah and Rangers' Cyriel Dessers are similar players 'We made an effort to bring Sima back to Glasgow permanently with a good offer, a higher fee than the one we agreed for Oscar Cortes. "We tried to convince the player and the agent but the numbers were unrealistic so we pushed back on it." Keep up to date with ALL the latest news and transfers at the Scottish Sun football page

Brighton pursuing Olympiacos striker Charalampos Kostoulas

Brighton & Hove Albion are pursuing 17-year-old Olympiacos striker Charalampos Kostoulas. They have offered a fee of around £30million plus Abdallah Sima for the teenager regarded as one of the hottest young talents in Europe. Olympiacos, reluctant to lose Kostoulas, are expected to turn down the bid. They would also want a sell-on included in any deal. Advertisement Kostoulas helped Olympiacos to win the youth version of the Champions League last season with five goals in eight appearances. He has featured regularly for the first team in the Greek Super League and in the Europa League this season, contributing six goals and two assists in 29 appearances combined across the two competitions. Kostoulas has also represented his country in age groups from under-16 to under-21. Sima, 23, has been loaned out by Brighton to French sides Brest and Angers, as well as Glasgow Rangers and Stoke City, since joining from Slavia Prague in 2021. The Senegal forward is yet to make a senior appearance for his parent club. Brighton have already signed a teenage striker from Greece for next season. Stefanos Tzimas, 19, was bought at the end of the January window for a fee in excess of £20m and loaned straight back to Nurnberg in Germany's second tier for the rest of the season. Brighton's global recruitment strategy also saw them land in March for next season 18-year-old South Korean winger Yun Do-young from Daejeon Hana Citizen in his country's K1 League for an undisclosed fee and 19-year-old Sunderland winger Tommy Watson from Championship play-off finalists Sunderland for £10m. The Athletic reported on Thursday that Brighton are also pursuing a deal for Botafogo's Cuiabano and have had two bids rejected for the 22-year-old. Saint-Etienne rallies to draw 3-3 with Brest in Ligue 1

Saint-Etienne rallies to draw 3-3 with Brest in Ligue 1 PARIS (AP) — Struggling Saint-Etienne came from behind three times to draw 3-3 with Brest in Ligue 1 on Sunday and earn a valuable point in its relegation fight. The draw moved 17th-placed Saint-Etienne three points behind Le Havre in the relegation-playoff spot with five rounds left. Advertisement The manner of the performance may give Saint-Etienne fans hope, although the club has a difficult run-in with games against high-flying Monaco, Lyon and Strasbourg — who are all chasing a Champions League spot next season. Eighth-placed Brest led 3-2 after a thrilling first half where striker Ludovic Ajorque scored twice for the visitors and Abdallah Sima got the other goal, while lively forwards Lucas Stassin and Irvin Cardona netted for Saint-Etienne. Cardona made it 3-3 with 10 minutes to go and Saint-Etienne went close to winning when Zuriko Davitashvili's header hit the crossbar five minutes into stoppage time. Later Sunday, resurgent Lyon needed a victory at midtable Auxerre to move into fourth place in the race for a Champions League place. Advertisement Rennes routs Le Havre Rennes raced into a 3-0 lead inside 15 minutes on the way to a 5-1 win at Le Havre. Dutch midfielder Azor Matusiwa scored after 37 seconds following a huge blunder by goalkeeper Mathieu Gorgelin, who passed the ball straight to a Rennes player. Striker Arnaud Kalimuendo then set up Matusiwa for an empty-net goal. Defender Lorenz Assignon and Kalimuendo netted soon after. Le Havre pulled one back before the break but Jordan forward Mousa Tamari and substitute Andrés Gomez grabbed completed a rout as Rennes moved up to 11th. Montpellier's misery continues Striker Esteban Lepaul scored twice as Angers beat rock-bottom Montpellier 2-0 and pushed it closer to relegation. Montpellier is 12 points behind Le Havre with only 15 points available. ___ AP soccer:
