Michael Bublé Talks How Adam David Overcame the Odds To Win 'The Voice' Season 27 (Exclusive)

Adam David overcame a lot to become the winner of Season 27 of The Voice. Statistically, the odds were against him. There have only been two other one-chairs turns who have won: Jake Hoot and Chris Blue. But Chris almost doesn't count in that sense because he was the last artist added that season and only Alicia Keys had a spot on her team, so it wasn't as if anyone else could have turned for him. But Kelly Clarkson turned for Jake, and she was proven right. As was Michael Bublé tonight with Adam. Adam is also only the second person to receive the "Instant Save" to go on to win the competition. The first was Bryce Leatherwood, who, funnily enough, returned to the finale to perform his new single 'God Made.' 'I am going to tell you right now, I have nothing to do with it,' the winning coach told Parade, trying to downplay his role in Adam's win. 'Zero. We're friends. I'm not his coach; I'm not his teacher. He's a killer musician. He knows exactly what he's doing. He has all the talent and ambition in the world. I think more than anything, he needed a partner, a friend to help sometimes lift him up when he was having doubts.' 🎤 SIGN UP for our The Voice newsletter to get access to exclusive news, interviews, insider info, sneak peeks & more🎤 Those doubts earlier also led Adam to struggle with addiction, but he sought help and ultimately found recovery. Now five years clean, he credits music as a steady anchor in his life, helping him process emotions and maintain stability. And it was his years of dedication to music that attracted Michael when he heard Adam's voice. 'No joke, I remember distinctly there being about 15 or 10 seconds left on the clock as Adam's Blind Audition song ['Baby I Love Your Way'] was winding down and I was saying to the other coaches, 'Please don't turn, don't turn.' I didn't want him to get stolen. Then, when it happened, the second I got him, I ran backstage and I said, 'I just got my guy on my team.'' And it was obvious all season watching Michael's interactions with Adam that he was a huge fan of the 34-year-old musician from Fort Lauderdale, FL. But rather than take credit for Adam's success, Michael continues to share the credit, but with voters. Related: 'America has great taste,' Michael said. 'They really do. America is who gave us this music. They're the ones who culturally gave us the greatest gifts in not only music but cinema and art. And the fact that they can recognize what I heard in that turn just gives me deeper faith in them and how good they are, how smart they are, how much integrity came with every one of those votes. The thing that I am tripping out about more than anything is knowing how important those people feel about their vote. It's not thrown away. It gives you confidence in your own taste.' Michael is the only judge from Season 27 who will be returning for Season 28. He is looking forward to working with a new group of coaches, who will also include Reba McEntire, Snoop Dogg and Niall Horan. 'I'm going to show up and revel in being friends with these people and get some great artists again,' Michael said, wrapping up. The Voice Season 28 will return to NBC in Fall 2025.

The Voice's Season 27 Winner Opens Up About the ‘Savior' That Awaited Him After Rehab

If you've yet to hear Adam David's single, 'Savior,' might I recommend that you stop what you are doing and check it out? (You can listen below.) Not only is it a powerful vocal and an epic, Father John Misty-worthy production, but the lyrics are sharp enough to draw blood. 'I wrote half of it while I was still in active addiction,' The Voice's Season 27 winner tells TVLine, 'and I went through the process of going to treatment.' Every step of the way, the singer continued fighting with the number in hopes of bringing it to a conclusion. 'I did keep trying to finish it, but all I got was this first half,' he says. 'It wasn't until the day that I got out of rehab that I was able to finish that song. Uche Ojeh, Husband of Today Co-Host Sheinelle Jones, Dead at 45 - Watch On-Air Announcement 'Now I always say that I think that the song itself was like the reward for making it through, you know?' he continues. 'I wrote it as a reminder for me, but it seems to be resonating with a lot of people. And that's a gift. As songwriters, that's our role in the world. Our responsibility is to find the words that other people haven't been able to or can't.' David then asks, no doubt knowing the answer, whether a song has ever expressed something that we've wanted to but haven't been able to. 'And they said it in four words,' he marvels. 'You're like, 'Oh my God, how could… why? It was so simple.' 'That is the dogma of a songwriter, I believe,' he adds, 'and that's the gift that we potentially are able to give to the world. At least I see it that way.' The Voice's 20 Best Performances of All Time View List Check out TVLine's full . BREAKING NEWS Hockey fans fume over 'The Voice' winner as NHL faces another anthem controversy in Stanley Cup Playoffs

Hockey fans are up in arms after a controversial performance of The Star-Spangled Banner before Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals in the Stanley Cup Playoffs between the Carolina Hurricanes and the Florida Panthers. The anthem, sung by Adam David - the most recent winner of 'The Voice' - was panned for its length and its lack of clarity for the lyrics. David appeared to mumble his way through the first verse of the song - having a particularly troublesome time of getting through 'at the twilight's last gleaming'. Not only that, but David appeared to drag out the song - as he crooned his rendition to last a whopping length of two minutes and eleven seconds. According to entertainment site AudioPhix, the average length of the anthem sung at the Super Bowl is about 1 minute, 43 seconds long. David, who just won Season 27 of NBC's singing competition days ago, was lambasted on X, formerly Twitter, as fans were furious over his perceived butchery of the song. ESPN hockey writer Greg Wyshynski joked, 'The military hero of the game is 100 years old. I think he's now 102 after that anthem.' One user remarked, 'This guy should not sing the National Anthem ever again…way too slow and didn't even sing 'at the twilight's last gleaming' but instead mumbled who knows what.' '#Panthers anthem singer might be having a stroke,' remarked another user on the social media platform. One fan wondered, 'What was the name of the word-slurring inebriated dude who just "sang" the national anthem at the #CarolinavsFlorida hockey match?' 'Terrible anthem in FLA ….dragged it onnnn and onnnn. Cmon it's not about you dufus. I thought that 100 year old vet was gonna stop saluting and Hai Karate his a**. Winner of The Voice ugh,' complained another.

Who is Adam David? Florida musician and recovery advocate wins 'The Voice' season 27

Adam David has officially won Season 27 of The Voice, capping off a compelling journey that began with just one chair turn during his Blind Audition. The South Florida native joined Michael Bublé's team and steadily earned his place, round after round, thanks to consistent performances and strong audience support. Initially not voted into the Top 4 during the semi-finals, Adam had to sing for an Instant Save, which he won with the majority of viewer votes. This secured his spot in the finale, where he triumphed over fellow finalists Jadyn Cree (also Team Bublé), Jaelen Johnston (Team Kelsea Ballerini), Lucia Flores-Wiseman (Team Adam Levine), and RENZO (Team John Legend). Adam's musical journey began at age eight with a guitar. 'I started playing guitar when I was 8,' he told Deepest Dream. 'I was always making things... little, simple melody things.' He started singing and writing songs by age 11, inspired by his uncle's performances. Beyond his music, Adam is six years sober. In March 2025, he marked this milestone, having previously entered treatment through Music Cares. His single 'Savior' was written during rehab, completed on his final day. 'It's a scary thing to put yourself out there,' he admitted, acknowledging the support from fans. Today, Adam performs weekly at rehab centres, sharing his story and music with those in recovery. His artistry and resilience resonated with audiences, culminating in his well-deserved victory. Bublé, proud of his team member, told him: 'You're my kind of artist... I knew you'd get here.'
