'Thank you to the supporters that always stuck with us' - Walker's parting message
Sam Walker has penned an emotional farewell message after confirming his time at King's Lynn Town has officially come to an end. Walker moved to The Walks in September 2023 as assistant manager to Adam Lakeland, who was sacked almost a fortnight ago. The 38-year-old started nine games in the 2024-25 season and joins released pair Jonny Margetts, Josh McCammon and Tommy Hughes as well as Josh Coulson, Greg Taylor and Dylan Crowe through the exit door. More departures, and incomings, are expected soon as new boss James Rowe begins building his own squad. Walker wrote on social media: 'My time at King's Lyn Town has now come to an end after being notified yesterday. 'When Adam and I came into the club we were languishing at the bottom of the league with no direction, no purpose or cohesion on and off the grass. 'During the early months that were extremely challenging, we worked day and night to find solutions that would help extract the maximum from the group we inherited. 'We found a way to do that and steered the club away from relegation and saved them from something everyone thought was inevitable given the circumstances we walked into. 'This season we outlined our plan to get the club promoted, something we addressed to the players on the first day of pre-season. We built a culture and a togetherness that would take us all the way to the play-offs only for it to end in heartbreak. 'To our players, I can't speak highly enough of you all. You trusted is, you let us guide you and you gave us absolutely everything from the first day until our last. I have loved working with you all every day. 'Thank you to the supporters that always stuck with us, especially the tough afternoons and evenings early on. We felt the passion that you all have for our club and it's something we have nothing but admiration for. 'To the chairman, our staff and all the volunteers at the club simply put, the place wouldn't run without you all. You're all so selfless and hardworking. I'll miss seeing you all. 'To the gaffer, thankyou for giving me the responsibility to be an extension of you. Watching you work as hard as you do and to make the sacrifices you've made is nothing short of remarkable. I hope the people associated with King's Lynn know how hard you worked to give them a team they could be proud of.'

'It's important that people remain balanced in their emotions'- Linnets boss
Adam Lakeland is on a mission to silence the doom and gloom around King's Lynn Town ahead of a pivotal few days for the club. Consecutive draws against teams in the lower reaches of National League North, preceded by a derby defeat at Peterborough Sports, had quelled the excitement as Lynn missed opportunities to take over at the top of the table. Despite those heady heights being within their grasp, the whiff of a dip in form was met in some quarters by dissent. But the topsy-turvy nature of this particular league was reflected perfectly a week ago when Lynn went to promotion rivals Curzon Ashton and came home with all three points. It was the sort of result which proves the manager's point – and with Hereford the visitors on Saturday, fans will no doubt raise their expectations again. There are obvious memories of a famous double in early 2018: when Toby Hilliard struck the winner in injury time it topped an almighty comeback from 2-0 down at half-time in the biggest test of that season, and in front of the biggest crowd of almost 1,200. That 3-2 win was followed less than two months later by a 2-0 win at Hereford as Lynn finished second in the Southern League. The play-off final defeat was not in the script and it won't be in Lakeland's either as Lynn bid to chase down the leaders. Hereford head to The Walks ninth in the table, three points and three places below Lynn, who will want to use the momentum from last weekend to keep in the thick of the pack. Linnets boss Adam Lakeland (Image: Ian Burt) 'They're another good side, but it was important that we won (at Curzon), because I feel like there's been a lot of doom and gloom, just people I bump into, people I speak to, supporters last week at The Walks, because we'd drawn two games, which is madness really,' said Lakeland. 'That's two defeats in 14 now and we've just come away to one of the best teams in the league and got a really big three points. 'We're going along well, we've just got to keep going. This league is incredibly demanding. You're going to have spells where you win games, you're going to have spells where you maybe don't, but it's important that people remain balanced in their emotions and just trust the work that we're doing and trust the players that we've got to keep going out there and trying to perform well and get results.' Attacking midfielder Cameron Forde-Brown was in the Lynn squad at Curzon and is likely to be involved again this weekend, having impressed Lakeland in training. 'He deserves to be in the squad because he's been out on loan all season at Felixstowe and he been doing incredibly well there,' said the Lynn boss. 'He's definitely benefited from playing week in, week out and the way that he's trained for the last few months, to be fair to him, has been superb. So he deserves it, he was close last week. Probably been the last couple of games where I've regretted probably not having him on the bench. I just felt he deserved his place in the squad and it just goes to show that hard work and training well after day, gets you a chance, so I'm pleased for him.' The Hereford visit is part one of a home double within the space of three days - Oxford City are the visitors on Tuesday for a game which has seen the club slash ticket prices with an offer that has now been extended to a deadline of midnight on Monday.
