Good Morning Britain's Adil Ray leaves his co-stars stunned as he reveals he went to dinner with a VERY unlikely Hollywood A-lister 12 years his junior
Good Morning Britain 's Adil Ray has recalled he once went to dinner with a very unlikely Hollywood A-lister whose 12 years his junior. The TV presenter, 51, was joined by Melvin Odoom, 45, and Kate Garraway, 58, on show as they discussed the upcoming movie Freakier Friday, slated for release on August 8. But as they chatted about the new flick, which stars Jamie Lee Curtis, 66, and actress Lindsay Lohan, 39, Melvin smirked when the Parent Trap star's name was mentioned. Alluding to a conversation had off-air, Melvin prompted Adil to reveal his connection to leading actress Lindsay after Adil admitted to going for dinner with her. 'Adil, you know Lindsay, right? Are you best mates?,' Melvin said. 'When I say things off air, you're not supposed to repeat them,' quipped Adil. 'I had dinner with Lindsay, me and Lindsay had dinner together. She's lovely.' To which Kate said: 'WHAT?! Stop, how did this happen, where were you?' 'Did you slide in the DM's?,' Melvin joked but Adil quickly clarified: 'It wasn't a date before, you know, it wasn't a date.' 'We had mutual friends and we all went out for dinner,' Adil explained. 'She came along, we sat next to each other and we had a lovely evening. She's absolutely adorable, she's a fantastic human. 'Really smart, really intelligent and really well lived. Just great, great to hang out with. Me and Lindz.' Melvin then changed the topic back to the highly-anticipated release Freakier Friday, though the presenters had far from let the Lindsay news go. 'Will you be watching that, Freakier Friday,' Melvin said to his co-stars. 'I loved the original so yeah, I'll definitely be watching it,' Kate responded. 'And I'll be thinking of the dinner and what might have been.' Adil ended the segment by saying: 'Lindsay, if you're watching, do get in touch.' Freakier Friday - a sequel to the 2003 film - sees Lindsay and Jamie embroiled in quadruple chaos as they swap bodies again - 22 years after they first traded places. Lindsay was just 15 years old when she first portrayed Anna Coleman in Freaky Friday alongside Jamie Lee, who played her on-screen mother Tess Coleman. It follows the bickering mother and daughter after a Chinese restaurant fortune cookie mishap causes them to switch bodies, forcing them to live the other's life. Despite barely having been able to see eye-to-eye, the magical switch eventually allows them to see things from the other's point of view. The sequel will see the iconic pairing switch places once again, though this time there is quadruple chaos in store. Anna (Lindsay) is preparing to tie the knot with to Eric Davies (Manny Jacinto), but things are proving difficult as her teenage daughter Harper (Julia Butters) despises Eric's teenager Lily (Sophia Hammons). Harper highlights her disgust as she's heard reciting mock wedding vows, in which she brands her soon-to-be step-sister 'a little demon thing with an obnoxious accent'. A flash forward to Anna's bachelorette party sees her and mother Tess Coleman sit down with a fortune teller (Vanessa Bayer), who warns them they may learn another lesson by 'walking in each other's paths'. Anna and Tess then find themselves caught up in yet another 'freaky' body swap incident - only this time, it's not just between the two of them. The next morning, Anna discovers she's swapped bodies with daughter Harper, while Tess, aka 'Grandma', is now in the body of Anna's step-daughter Lily. Quadruple chaos then ensues as the foursome try to navigate their new roles with just days to go until the wedding.

Good Morning Britain host stuns co-star revealing surprise link to Lindsay Lohan - and makes desperate plea for her to 'get in touch' live on air
Good Morning Britain presenter Adil Ray left his co-host stunned when he revealed the surprising link he has to actress Lindsay Lohan - and made a live plea for her to 'get in touch.' Adil joined Kate Garraway, 58, to present Friday's installment of the daytime news programme. The pair were accompanied by former I'm A Celebrity star Melvin Odoom, who delivered a roundup of the day's showbiz headlines. Having attended the premiere of the upcoming film Freakier Friday - a sequel of the iconic 2003 flick starring Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curits - Melvin cheekily pointed out the link. 'Adil, you know Lindsay right?' he quipped, before adding: 'Are you best mates?' Bashful Adil then cracked up laughing, and said: 'You know when I say things off air, you're not supposed to repeat them.' But Adil revealed that he 'had dinner with Lindsay Lohan,' to which a stunned Kate gasped: 'What?' 'Yes, I had dinner with Lindsay,' Adil continued. 'Me and Lindsay, we had dinner together, she's lovely!' An incredulous Kate was unable to believe it and demanded an explanation. 'Stop,' she said. 'How did this happen? Where were you?' and cheeky Melvin asked: 'Did you slide in the DMs?' But the 51-year-old was quick to clarify that that rendezvous was not romantic, and merely the result of a mutual connection. 'It wasn't a date, it wasn't a date,' he explained. 'We had mutual friends, and we all went out for dinner. 'She came along, we happened to sit next to each other, we had a lovely evening, and she's absolutely adorable.' Adil gushed of the American actress: 'She's a fantastic human, really smart, really intelligent, really well-lived. Just great, great to hang out with her - me and Linz.' He then turned to the camera and laughed: 'Lindsay, if you're watching, do get in touch!' It comes as Good Morning Britain viewers let rip at Adil and Kate - slamming the co-hosts as 'useless' and 'boring'. The pair discussed the Friday's top headlines, including the banning of ninja swords, the arrest of a pensioner on suspicion of poisoning children and potential payouts for motorists. But distracted fans were unable to focus on the news - turning their attention instead to the choice of hosts. Watchers have blasted the pair for 'annoying' habits - claiming that Adil is a 'rage baiter' who deliberately provokes guests and Kate frequently interrupts speakers. Taking to social media to express their outrage, otherwise loyal viewers said their irritation had forced them to change channels. 'I can't watch it when Adil Ray is on,' wrote a disgruntled watcher. 'It's been going downhill for years - not many decent presenters on there now.' Another agreed, writing: 'It's time Adil Ray was put out to pasture. I turn off when I see him. Everything that comes out of his mouth is so predictable. It's just so boring.' A third chimed in: 'So, you've got Adil Ray, he's pretty contentious on a good day, and Kate the cackling gob on. The day just gets better and better! 'Surely to god you can get better presenters than that or are these the only ones prepared to get out of bed early?' Elsewhere, commenters condemned Kate's perceived habit of 'interrupting.' 'The interruptus is strong in Kate this morning,' joked one, while Adil was not exempt from similar criticism. One commenter offered a scornful piece of advice to the network, saying: 'If you want to save money, get rid of Adil Ray. He is useless and an instant turn-off' Alongside a video of a man switching his television off, one wrote simply: 'Adil Ray still employed by GMB. That's shocking.' But not all watchers were as frenzied, with one praising 'the dream team' presenters. Adil in particular, has garnered a loyal following over the course his career as a comedian and media personality, with one fan writing: 'Yes! Love Fridays with Adil.' Another said of Adil's appearance: 'I'll be watching!' while another agreed: 'I only watch it when you're presenting.' Clearly a favourite for many fans, one said: 'Looking forward to seeing you.'
