Michael B. Jordan Shows Love To Sinners & Drops Big Creed-Verse Plans At Amazon Upfront
Source: Slaven Vlasic / Getty At Amazon's upfront presentation on Monday, Michael B. Jordan energized the crowd with a surprising and heartfelt tribute. While promoting the future of the Creed franchise, Jordan took a moment to acknowledge the current success of Sinners, a film now playing in theaters. 'Thank you to everyone who's been supporting Sinners in theaters right now,' he told the audience at the Beacon Theatre, earning one of the loudest responses of the night. What caught many off guard was that *Sinners* was not an Amazon production but a Warner Bros. release. The acknowledgment was especially notable considering Jordan had just been introduced by Courtenay Valenti, Amazon MGM Studios' Head of Film, Streaming and Theatrical, who formerly served as Warner Bros.' President of Production. The moment underscored Jordan's commitment to his collaborators, especially director Ryan Coogler, who helmed Sinners and shares a longstanding creative bond with Jordan. While on stage, Jordan also reflected on the origins and future of what he called the 'Creed-verse.' He revealed that the concept for Adonis Creed had been shared with him by Coogler even before filming their debut collaboration, Fruitvale Station. 'Before we ever rolled the cameras on Fruitvale, Ryan pitched the idea of Adonis Creed to me,' Jordan said. 'That was the start of everything.' Calling his journey as Adonis life-changing, Jordan expressed pride in how far the franchise has come and enthusiasm for where it is headed. He emphasized that the upcoming chapters will continue to honor the core values that have always defined the Rocky and Creed stories, such as grit, personal growth, and the importance of both biological and chosen family. 'We're creating something meaningful,' he said, while teasing the introduction of new fighters stepping into the ring. 'In Creed, it's always one step, one round, one punch at a time.' Jordan's appearance served as both a celebration of his current projects and a nod to the deep creative partnerships that have shaped his career, bridging past and future in a single powerful moment. Creed 4 Release Date Gets Disappointing Update From Michael B. Jordan
Ever since the release of Creed 3, fans have been waiting for an update on the next installment's arrival, but to no avail. While , who leads the franchise as Adonis Creed, has come out to share some details on the release date, they certainly don't fall on the positive end of the spectrum. According to the Black Panther actor, he is more than willing to add another part to the fan-favorite film series, but only if certain conditions stand. In a recent discussion, Michael B. Jordan opened up about the possibilities of Creed 4, teasing the project's release date. While talking with GQ, the seasoned actor admitted that there is room to extend the Creed franchise. However, he emphasized that he would not come on board just for the sake of it. 'Yeah, the fourth one, eventually, not sure when, but we left that door open to build on that franchise. My thing is like, I don't wanna make a movie just to make it, give it a little time to breathe, make people want it, miss it a little bit. And when the time is right, I'll drop in and do another one,' Jordan noted. A spin-off of the famous Rocky franchise, the first Creed film hit theatres in 2015 and instantly garnered praise from audiences and critics alike. It put Michael B. Jordan's Adonis Creed, the son of the legendary Apollo Creed, at the center of things as he attempts to follow in his father's footsteps to become a professional boxer. Creed also featured the much-awaited return of Sylvester Stallone's Rocky Balboa, who serves as Adonis' mentor. As conveyed by Michael B. Jordan, a sequel to Creed 3 could still happen in the near future. However, with no official word on the project, fans should not expect an update on Creed 4's release date anytime soon.
