MCE Wins Outstanding Partnership Award at America International Arabic Book
Mohamed Mandour The Muslim Council of Elders' pavilion at the America International Arabic Book, Culture, and Arts Expo 2025 has been honored with the Outstanding Partnership Award in recognition of its impactful contribution to promoting civilizational dialogue and showcasing Islamic cultural heritage. The event was held at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center in Dearborn, Michigan. The organizers of the fair expressed their appreciation for the Council's active participation, highlighting its significant role in enriching the Expo's program and fostering unity among Dearborn's diverse communities. They noted that the Council's thought-provoking seminars, alongside its dynamic cultural pavilion, stood out as inspiring and memorable features of the event. In acknowledgment of these efforts, the pavilion was awarded the Outstanding Partnership Award. The Council participated in the inaugural edition of Expo 2025 with more than 250 intellectual and cultural publications, as well as a series of panel discussions addressing key topics such as Islamophobia and the importance of intra-Islamic dialogue. Metallica to Perform in UAE & Bahrain in December
Rana Atef Metal legends Metallica will come to the Middle East in December for two concerts. On December 3, the legends will perform during the after-race concerts as part of the 2025 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on Yas Island, near Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Tickets to the After-Race Concerts are exclusive to those who have Abu Dhabi Grand Prix ticket holders. The Grand Prix appearance will mark the third time METALLICA has performed in Abu Dhabi. The band made its debut on Yas Island in 2011 and returned two years later. On December 6, the heavy metal giants will make their Bahrain debut at Beyon Al Dana Amphitheatre. Cairo Hosts 2nd Edition of AUC Tahrir Culture Festival 2025
Nada Mustafa The second edition of the annual AUC Tahrir Culture Festival 2025 kicked off on Thursday, April 10, 2025, and will run through Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the historic Tahrir Campus of American University in Cairo (AUC). This year, the festival adopts the theme 'Cairo: A Global City', highlighting the Egyptian capital's unique cultural identity as a bridge between Africa, the Mediterranean, and the wider world. The festival celebrates Cairo's vibrant mix of heritage, people, and history within a modern and dynamic context. The event, which is open to the public free of charge, features a diverse lineup of activities including book discussions, art exhibitions, musical and theatrical performances, panel talks, a handmade crafts market, children's activities, and food offerings that reflect the city's multicultural essence. The opening ceremony is held with the attendance of prominent public figures, authors, media personalities, ambassadors, and representatives from cultural and community organizations, alongside members of AUC community.
