"My Little Pony" Live-Action Movie in Works

Yara Sameh
'My Little Pony' is getting ready to gallop on to the big screen in a live action feature from Amazon MGM Studios and Hasbro Entertainment.
Based on the popular toys that date back to 1982, the ponies have cantered into numerous animated series and feature films since the 1980s.
The most recent feature-length outing was 'My Little Pony: A New Generation' in 2021, which became popular on Netflix after its theatrical release from Paramount was canceled due to Coronavirus.
This will be the first live action project for the 43-year old property, which has captivated several generations with its rainbow-hued animals with colorful neon manes and tails.
The project is still in development with no creative team in place yet.
While the toys originally appealed mostly to girls, the 2010 series 'My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic' lured a new type of fans: teenaged and adult men who dubbed themselves 'bronies' and used their fandom to challenge conventional gender stereotypes.
My Little Pony toys have been sold in more than a thousand varieties. It was recently inducted into the National Toy Hall of Fame.
Hasbro's strategy to produce film and TV series based on its familiar brands include reimagining 'Clue' on film and television with Sony's TriStar and Sony Pictures Television, the live-action Dungeons & Dragons series 'Forgotten Realms,' in development at Netflix, the animated 'Magic: The Gathering Series' in production at Netflix, the live-action film and television 'Magic: The Gathering' universe with Legendary Entertaimnent and game shows based on Trivial Pursuit and Scrabble which premiered on the CW.

Fayrouz Lays Ziad El Rahbani to Rest in Home's Garden

Rana Atef In a solemn and quiet farewell, Beirut bid goodbye this morning to renowned Lebanese musician and playwright Ziad Rahbani, who passed away on Saturday at the age of 69, leaving behind a rich artistic legacy and decades of bold, socially charged theater and music. Legendary singer Fairuz led her only son's funeral, with several Lebanese media outlets reporting that she said her final goodbye to Ziad away from the press and cameras. After the casket was placed in Our Lady of Dormition Church in Bikfaya, she joined him in a private farewell before the body was taken to the garden of her home in the town of Choueir, where she had prepared a personal burial site — not next to his father, the late artist Assi Rahbani, who is buried in Antelias. The funeral procession began earlier this morning from Khoury Hospital in Beirut's Hamra district, where thousands of fans and admirers had gathered from the early hours, holding his photos, throwing flowers, and applauding in a powerful farewell. Women ululated from both sides of the street, and the mood was deeply emotional. The body was then moved to Our Lady of Dormition Church in Bikfaya, where a mass was held, and the family will be receiving condolences today, Monday, and tomorrow, Tuesday, amidst widespread grief in Lebanon's artistic and cultural circles. Born on January 1, 1956, Ziad Rahbani came from one of the most iconic artistic families in the Arab world. As the son of Fairuz and the legendary Assi Rahbani (of the Rahbani Brothers), Ziad grew up in a rich creative environment that propelled him into the spotlight. Yet, he quickly established his own identity — one defined by avant-garde music, biting political satire, and an unmatched stage presence. His works combined elements of Eastern music with Western genres such as jazz and rock, while his bold plays dissected Lebanese and Arab social realities with wit and philosophical depth. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier News Ayat Khaddoura's Final Video Captures Bombardment of Beit Lahia Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence"

Netflix and Shahid Launch First Joint Subscription in Middle East

Netflix and Shahid will now be offered in one subscription for the first time, starting in Saudi Arabia and expanding across the Mena region. Netflix and Shahid are now available through a single subscription in Saudi Arabia, following a new partnership between the streaming platform and MBC Group. This marks Netflix's first regional bundle deal in the Middle East and North Africa and includes access to both platforms through MBCNOW, MBC's content hub launched earlier this year. The package brings together Netflix's international catalogue and Shahid's Arabic-language content. MBCNOW will also include access to MBC's linear TV channels. The joint subscription is available both online and through major retailers in Saudi Arabia, with plans to roll out to the Gulf and wider region after the summer. Netflix's inclusion adds further content variety, with shows, films, documentaries, and live events. MBC Group says the bundle offers over 21% savings compared to individual subscriptions.

Beyoncé Reunites With Destiny's Child during Final Cowboy Carter Show in Las Vegas

Yara Sameh Destiny's Child returned for one exceptional night. During the final stop of her Cowboy Carter Tour at Las Vegas' Allegiant Stadium, Beyoncé surprised fans by reuniting onstage with former group members Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, marking their first performance together in seven years. 'Destiny's Child, b—t!' Bey shouted to a roaring crowd after briefly disappearing from the stage, then returning with Rowland and Williams as their hit 'Independent Women' began to play. The surprise reunion arrived during the Renaissance segment of the show, as the trio kicked off a medley of iconic hits with their 2004 hit 'Lose My Breath,' a song they hadn't performed together since Beyoncé's Coachella headlining sets in 2018. They followed with Bey's 2022 Renaissance track 'Energy' before closing with Destiny Child's 2001 anthem 'Bootylicious,' marking the first time the three-piece had performed the hit live since their appearance at Beyoncé's Super Bowl Halftime Show in 2013. After the show, Beyoncé took to Instagram to share a photo of herself smiling onstage with Rowland and Williams by her side. Rowland and Williams also posted snapshots from the iconic moment on their respective IG accounts. Since their debut in 1997, Destiny's Child has cemented its status as one of the most successful and influential girl groups in music history. Although the trio officially disbanded in 2006, they reunited for high-profile performances at the 2013 Super Bowl and Beyoncé's Coachella headlining set in 2018. The iconic trio also reunited offstage in 2023, when former members LaTavia Roberson and LeToya Luckett shared backstage snapshots from Beyoncé's Renaissance World Tour. In addition to Destiny's Child, Beyoncé's final Cowboy Carter Tour show featured surprise appearances from Shaboozey — who joined her for a medley of 'Sweet Honey Buckiin',' 'Pure/Honey,' and 'Summer Renaissance' — and her husband, Jay-Z, who performed 'N—s in Paris' solo and teamed up with Beyoncé for 'Crazy in Love.' 'Don't ever ask permission for something that already belongs to you,' Beyoncé told the audience near the end of the show. 'God bless you, drive home safe, thank you for tonight! Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make this a reality. I'm so deeply grateful.' Attendees in the VIP section at the Las Vegas finale included Kris Jenner, Khloé Kardashian, Tyler Perry, and Oprah Winfrey, TMZ reports. Bey's tour concluded after high-profile stops in Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, London, Paris, Houston, Washington, D.C., Atlanta, and Las Vegas. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News Israeli-Linked Hadassah Clinic in Moscow Treats Wounded Iranian IRGC Fighters Arts & Culture "Jurassic World Rebirth" Gets Streaming Date News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Egyptian Pound Undervalued by 30%, Says Goldman Sachs Arts & Culture South Korean Actress Kang Seo-ha Dies at 31 after Cancer Battle Sports Get to Know 2025 WWE Evolution Results News "Tensions Escalate: Iran Probes Allegations of Indian Tech Collaboration with Israeli Intelligence" Arts & Culture Hawass Foundation Launches 1st Course to Teach Ancient Egyptian Language
