Recently, one of the most legendary bands in the Japanese entertainment industry announced disbandment, leaving fans sad and heavily affected. The Japanese band, Arashi, recently took to their online social media platforms to keep the fans and the public updated about the matter. Arashi disbands after a 4-year-long hiatus The group had been under an indefinite hiatus since December 2024. The group, which debuted all the way back in 1999, left fans affected with the sudden announcement. According to Billboard Philippines, the group had been in talks with one another for more than a year regarding the future of the group. The possibility of a comeback had been heavily discussed among all; however, due to changes in their environment as well as their growth and changes as separate individuals could not solve the problem. The statements shared online stated that 'We could not imagine resuming our activities only to go on a hiatus yet again.' Arashi enthusiastically announced that the group is not going to disappear just like that. They announced that the group is all set and preparing to hold one final goodbye concert for fans next spring. All members – Aiba Masaki , Jun Matsumoto, Kazunari Ninomiya, Satoshi Ohno, and Sho Sakurai – will be joining hands one last time to thank fans for all the love and support that they have shown the group over the past years. As of right now, the only thing known about the final tour is that it will be held next year in spring. Any other information regarding the tour is yet to officially be revealed by the group. Arashi to Hold Final Tour in 2026 Before Disbanding

Here is the full statement. We have something we would like to share with you. It has been about four and a half years since we went on hiatus. During our final year before the hiatus, we were unable to perform in front of all of you due to the impact of COVID-19. To express our heartfelt gratitude directly to the fans who have supported us all this time, the five of us have come together once again to begin preparing for a concert tour planned for next spring as Arashi . At one point, especially after the establishment of our company, Arashi Inc, we considered moving forward with a new structure and new staff. However, after more than 20 years of being supported by the same dedicated team, we realized we wanted to create this final chapter together with them. This tour will mark the official conclusion of our activities as Arashi. About a year and a half ago, the five of us began meeting and talking whenever we had the chance, discussing the possibility of reuniting as Arashi. As the environment surrounding us, as well as our individual circumstances, have changed, it wasn't easy to find a clear answer on how to do this. After much time and many conversations, we arrived at one shared decision: to reunite one more time and perform as Arashi. By doing the things we couldn't during the pandemic, such as directly thanking our fans and performing live, we hope to bring our journey as a five-member group to a close.
