Schroeder, Finney win flag championships

Class B: (2)Schroeder 41, (1)Arcadia 26 Emma Rascoe tossed four touchdown passes and added an interception for a touchdown as the Warriors cruised past previously unbeaten Arcadia for their first ever flag football title. Rascoe was responsible for the first 20 points of the game. He opened the scoring with a pair of TD passes and then nabbed a short swing pass that went for a 20-yard pick six. The Warriors were instantly in control at 20-0. Aimee Turner answered for the Titans with a TD pass that sliced the lead to 20-7. However, Rascoe found Nina Amico for a touchdown in the final minute of the first half. Addison Morgan opened the second half with a 50 yard interception return for a touchdown to make it 34-7. Samantha Mau ran in a score and Turner hit another touchdown pass to get Arcadia within 34-20. Rascoe's final TD throw of the game to McKenzie Browne ended any hope of a Titan miracle rally. Morgan had a touchdown reception to go with the pick six for Schroeder who ended their year at 13-1. Turner ended the game with three touchdown passes. The Titans also closed their season at 13-1. Class C: (3)C.G. Finney 7, (5)Batavia 0 Allie Frederickson caught a first half touchdown pass and the Finney defense did the rest as the Falcons won their first ever flag football sectional title. Frederickson also had a first half interception. The touchdown came on a deep pass where Frederickson had to go up in a crowd to make the catch and took two steps into the end zone. Finney closed their season on a seven game win streak to end the year at 12-3-1. Batavia finished up 9-4-1. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. Primetime 585 Spotlight Team: Arcadia flag football

GREECE, N.Y. (WROC) — The Primetime 585 Spotlight Team of the Week is the Greece Arcadia flag football team. The Titans beat Spencerport 41-7 on Monday behind senior quarterback Aimee Turner's four touchdown passes and one rushing touchdown. The senior has put up impressive numbers in all four games for Arcadia, totaling nine passing touchdowns so far this season. 'We just understand how winning is really important to us,' Turner said. 'We do a lot of work outside of the game, so we just get really prepared. We've got great coaches, and everyone on the team shows up and does their best.' Senior wide receiver Kaitlyn Spring had a two-touchdown day against Spencerport, including a 21-yard pass from Turner. She ended the day with three receptions for 36 yards, helping the Titans remain undefeated. 'We know who we are, we know each task. Every game's different, we take that step,' head coach Matt Lapinski said. 'We have this mentality of just win, figure out a way and we just get it done.' Sophomore running back Vivian Koffa added six carries for 75 yards, including a 59-yard touchdown run. The Titans also dominate on defense, led by Turner with seven flag pulls in Monday's victory. So far this season, the team has only allowed one offensive touchdown. 'This started three years ago, and a lot of these girls on this team are on their third year,' assistant coach Brian Shonitsky said. 'We started with sayings: 'Write the script, build an army, relentless effort.'' When asked if this year's goal is a sectional title, junior running back/wide receiver Samantha Mau had a simple answer. 'We need to get it done this year,' she said. 'There's no way around it, it needs to be done this year.' Congratulations to Arcadia for being the Primetime 585 Spotlight Team of the Week! Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
