Nagpur Railway Station Fortified for Ajni-Pune Vande Bharat Inaugural Run
Nagpur: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP) have launched extensive anti-sabotage checks to ensure the safe inaugural run of the Ajni-Pune Vande Bharat Express on August 10. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the much-awaited train virtually from Nagpur Railway Station, joined by railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and other dignitaries. Union minister Nitin Gadkari will also grace the occasion. To transform the station into a security fortress, platform number eight will be sealed off to outside vehicles on the flag-off day. Heavy frisking and strict access control measures will be enforced to safeguard attendees and the train. Sources said GRP and RPF are diverting manpower from other posts to beef up security at Nagpur station during the Ajni-Pune Vande Bharat inaugural run. City police and other intelligence agencies are also expected to join for outer peripheral security deployments and traffic movements. Armed escorts will accompany the inaugural run, ensuring heightened security throughout the journey. Led by GRP superintendent Mangesh Shinde and Central Nagpur Divisional Security Commissioner (RPF) Manoj Kumar, security forces are conducting rigorous checks, including anti-sabotage sweeps across the station premises. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like The Secret Lives of the Romanovs — the Last Rulers of Imperial Russia! PM Modi to flag off Ajni-Pune Vande Bharat Express on Sunday
Nagpur: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the much-awaited Ajni-Pune Vande Bharat Express on Sunday, August 10, at 9am from the east side of Nagpur station via video conferencing, along with the Bengaluru-Belgavi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Amritsar Vande Bharat trains. This will be the third Vande Bharat Express from Nagpur, after the Nagpur-Bilaspur and Nagpur-Secunderabad routes. The semi-high-speed train has been long awaited by passengers on one of the busiest rail corridors between Nagpur and Pune. The train will have nine commercial stoppages, including Wardha, Badnera, Akola, Bhusawal, Jalgaon, Manmad, Kopargaon, Ahmednagar, and Daund Chord Line. After the inaugural run on Sunday, the regular service is likely to commence from August 14. According to the schedule approved by the railway board, the 26102 Ajni-Pune Vande Bharat Express will depart from Ajni at 9.50am six days a week, excluding Monday, and reach Pune the same day at 9.50pm. Similarly, the 26101 Pune-Ajni will start from Pune at 6.25am and reach Ajni at 6.25pm the same day. Two rakes of Vande Bharat Express have been assigned, while primary maintenance will be done at Nagpur. The Nagpur division has planned the inaugural run as a special service, while regular bookings are yet to start. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like This new air conditioner cools down a room in just seconds News of the Discovery Undo Initially, there were talks of the first sleeper Vande Bharat Express between Nagpur and Pune, given the high passenger volume on a daily basis. However, the railway board ultimately granted only AC CC (Chair Car) and AC EC (Executive Chair) coaches for this service. The Nagpur-Pune route has high demand, but the premium fare for a sitting journey faces uncertainty. The AC CC fare is expected to be around Rs1,500, and the AC EC fare Rs3,000. The Howrah-Pune and Ajni-Pune AC special trains are the fastest, with 12.50 hours and 13.35 hours of travel time respectively between Nagpur and Pune. The fares for sleeper AC seats are relatively cheaper. Besides, these are overnight journeys, making them quite preferred for most passengers.
