Anushka Sharma once shared how she tricks daughter Vamika into eating healthy: ‘You are fooling them…'

and are one of India's most loved celebrity couples. Fans admire their romance and how they stand by each other, but many also look up to the way they balance their busy careers with raising their two children, daughter and baby son Akaay. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now Back in September 2024, during an event in Mumbai, Anushka gave a fun and honest look into her parenting style. She shared how she sometimes has to use her acting skills to convince her daughter to eat healthy, but her little one is already clever enough to see through the tricks. Fooling a toddler is not so easy When asked how she keeps her children from getting tempted by junk food, the 'PK' actress said, 'This was a hard one. Your kid is two, and if it is your firstborn, then it's kind of easier because they haven't been to that many birthday parties. They don't know that cake exists and there is pizza in the world. You create this nice little bubble for them. You are fooling them well (chuckles). And then they start seeing things; 'Oh! Wait a minute, what is that woman not been showing me?' So, I am going through that with my daughter. ' Turning healthy eating into a fun story The 'Sultan' actress explained that she tries to make the idea of eating healthy sound interesting for her daughter. She said, 'I think the only way I have managed to, and I am still trying, is that I do explain it to her. I tell her that there are some foods that give us energy so you can play and do different things. Some food gives that to us very quickly and then we have no energy left to do other things. Other foods give us energy in a way that we can keep playing… I make it sound more interesting than I am making it to you guys right now. But I feel like she doesn't buy most of the times, she is like, 'Whatever, just give it!' I also pick days and give a very lengthy explanations, which I try to make fun. I bring out the actress in me…' A sweet lesson at an ice-cream museum The 'Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi' actress recalled taking Vamika to an ice-cream museum in Singapore, expecting her to go all out. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now But her daughter surprised her. 'I took her to an ice cream museum because she loves ice cream. She is obsessed. There, I told her, 'Eat as much as you want'. She didn't eat that much. So, I think when you inculcate the right kind of habits in the beginning, they don't stuff themselves with 10 ice creams. She must have had two, and then she was like, 'I am done.' So if you inculcate the right habits in the beginning, they'll make the right choice,' concluded Anushka. On the work front, Anushka was last seen in the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer 'Zero' in 2018 before taking a break from films. She made a brief but delightful appearance in the 2022 OTT film 'Qala' in the song 'Ghodey Pe Sawaar'. Since then, there have been no official updates on her next project.

When Anushka Sharma felt she and Virat Kohli were not ‘perfect parents' to Vamika and Akaay: ‘There is so much pressure'

and are not only one of the most loved celebrity couples in India, but they also set major family goals. While fans admire their romance and support for each other, many also look up to how they balance busy careers with raising their two children, daughter and baby son Akaay. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now But as Anushka revealed in a candid chat during an event in Mumbai back in September 2024, being parents isn't always picture perfect. In fact, she made it clear that she and Virat are just like any other mum and dad — doing their best, learning on the go, and admitting that yes, it's hard sometimes. 'We are not perfect parents' The 'PK' actress didn't hold back when talking about the kind of pressure parents feel these days to get everything right. She said, "There is so much pressure to be like this perfect parent. We are not perfect parents, we will complain about things, and it is okay to admit it to them also. So, they know that you are flawed. Imagine kids having to live up to, 'Oh my parents are like this'. So owning your mistakes makes it easier. " No time for fancy dinners Being hands-on parents to two small children has meant big changes in their lifestyle, especially their social life. Anushka admitted, "I can only hang out with people who do the same and that's very few people. So social life, you can forget about it. People invite us to dinner and I am like (makes a confusing expression)... You are probably eating a snack at the time we eat our dinner. Some day, occasionally you have to let it go, otherwise people will hate you. " Leading with love and gratitude One of the most touching parts of her talk was when Anushka spoke about what really matters when it comes to raising kids. Tired of too many ads? go ad free now She said, "In my case, I have realised that my daughter is very young. And I don't think I can teach her anything. It is how we lead our lives. Are we showing gratitude to others in our daily life? Are we grateful for the things we have in life? Are we showing that as an example? Do we think this is enough? I think she has picked up on that, I don't think I can teach her anything. For them to learn gratitude, they have to see you being grateful." Don't stress the small stuff Anushka also had some wise words for parents who get upset over children's behaviour. Her advice? "You just have to enjoy their childhood. If you ever see them showing disrespect, they are not showing disrespect, they are just being kids and you can gently guide them. Living by example is the only way to make sure they soak the good things from the environment," she said. Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma visit Hanuman Garhi temple in Ayodhya
