Akhil Sachdeva, Ankur Tewari's acoustic sets have Gurgaon singing at the Buskr Chowk launch
The Buskr Chowk initiative celebrates and supports the spirit of street performances On the World Music Day weekend, a brand-new initiative titled Buskr Chowk that celebrates and supports the spirit of street performances, launched with pop up performances across Delhi, Gurgaon and Noida. World Music Day celebrates free expression, grassroots artistry, and music in public spaces - values that lie at the very heart of busking. Buskr, a first-of-its-kind initiative, based on the same premise is reimagining the future of street performances with powerful live busking pop-up spaces. Akhil Sachdeva performing at CyberHub on World Music Day Gurgaon sang along as singers Akhil Sachdeva and Ankur Tewari brought alive the spirit of street performances and live music at Buskr Chowk on Saturday evening. The duo kept things easy and engaging with tracks like Jeene Mein Aaye Maza, Channa Ve, Sabse Peeche Hum Khade, Tu Jaane Na, and Samjhavan. While Akhil admitted it was his first attempt at busking, he embraced the format, stepping off stage to interact with the crowd and even stopping for selfies mid-set. Ankur, too, set the tone early – walking up front with his mic to connect directly with the audience. As voices joined in and the crowd swayed, the evening turned into a celebration of music on the streets. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Buy Brass Laxmi Ji Idol For Wealth, Peace & Happiness Luxeartisanship Shop Now Undo Ankur Tewari The talented buskers performed along the booth, showcasing Buskr's potential as a vibrant, accessible stage for artists across the board and a platform that helps amplify the voices of artists including musicians, poets, dancers, and storytellers, and connect them with a wider audience. Akhil Sachdeva on singers cult fanbase: ‘Musicians ne actors ko insecure kiya'
Akhil Sachdeva is not just a singer; his soulful voice is an experience. From his top hits like Humsafar to recent releases like Tu Chand Hai, Akhil has carved a unique space in the Indian music industry. But what lies beneath the voice that makes you miss your ex, your bachpan ka pyaar, and everything in between? In an exclusive conversation with Akhil Sachdeva opened up about his journey from cricket to music, from theatre to becoming a household name in romantic melodies. The Song That Almost Didn't Happen: Tu Chand Hai On speaking about his recent song 'Tu Chand hai', he admitted that he usually composes and writes his own music, so singing someone else's composition felt off. Released under a Dubai-based music label, the song was initially rejected by Akhil. He was travelling during that time and didn't feel connected to the song. Later, his wife convinced him to give it another listen: 'You are melody, and this melody suits your voice.' He ended up singing it in just one take, and the rest is history. 'I'm glad I did it. The song went into a completely different zone once I sang it,' he says. When asked about cross-border collaborations (particularly with Pakistani artists), Akhil says: 'Music has no boundaries—that's something I've always believed. But given the current situation, we have to stand with our country. And we are doing that. I'm proud to stand with my nation.' Singing wasn't Akhil's first choice; in fact, Akhil's first passion was cricket, and he dreamt of playing for India. However, that couldn't materialize. Later, he went to Mumbai and got enrolled in a 3-month acting course with Barry John, where Barry John himself asked him life-defining questions: 'Are you sure you want to be an actor or a musician?' There, he also met his friend Niharika Singh, who was in the same acting class. She suggested that Akhil take advice from a Guruji who is currently his singing Guru. His Guruji also saw Akhil's inclination towards music and suggested he follow the path. And today, Akhil has become a top singer, and he believes he was destined to become a musician. 'I didn't choose music, music chose me' Akhil also revealed that he has been offered many web series and films, but he currently doesn't want to sail in two ships so he is just focusing on his music. Akhil Sachdeva on musicians getting their due appreciation Speaking about Indian singer getting their due appreciation and recognition, Akhil shares that he feels that the Indian music industry is currently at its peak. He even feels that a lot of actors want to become singers, and the singer's cult fan base has surpassed that of actors. He even feels that the music scene has made actors insecure. 'Music scene ne kahin an kahin ja kar actors ko insecure bhi kiya hai.' . He feels that Indian music system is undergoing a transformation and evolving. What's coming next for Akhil Sachdeva After his new release of 'Tu chand hai', Akhil is geared up for many of his major projects coming soon this year. He hinted that 3 new songs are coming by July itself, and 2 more songs with Big Star are also being released this year. Besides this, Akhil Sachdeva spoke about his personal life, dealing with depression after his losing his mother, and the interesting story of his love life. Watch the video for the full conversation.

Mawra Hocane stars in Akhil Sachdeva's 'Tu Chaand Hai'
Mawra Hocane starred in the music video for Indian singer Akhil Sachdeva's song Tu Chaand Hai on Friday. The video spotlights the artists in stunning, sunny locations, with Mawra twirling in between shots. Announcing the cross-border collaboration on Instagram on Wednesday, she wrote, "Tu Chaand Hai – a special one from us to you. So excited to share this beautiful melody with you all, sung by the most talented Akhil Sachdeva. I can't wait for you to hear it. Releasing April 4, exclusively on Novice Records. Stay tuned." Akhil also expressed his anticipation for the music video in the comments. "Gave every inch of my soul while singing this beautiful melody. Waiting for the whole world to feel it too. Give your love," he wrote. The two also spoke about the project in a statement, as per Times of India. "Music videos have always fascinated me, and I couldn't have asked for a better song coming my way. Tu Chaand Hai is pure magic, and working with the team has been an incredible experience. I can't wait for my fans to see this beautiful journey unfold," Mawra shared. Akhil, meanwhile, praised the Pakistan actor for elevating the song with her involvement. "Tu Chaand Hai is one of the most special songs I've worked on, and having Mawra bring it to life onscreen adds a whole new depth to the emotions. Her presence makes this song even more emotional," he said. As of late, Mawra has been riding high from the exceptional success of the re-release of her Bollywood debut, Sanam Teri Kasam. Despite not doing well in 2016, the film rocked the box office almost a decade later and earned high praise from Bollywood greats, such as Vidya Balan and Anil Kapoor. Mawra, who was simultaneously basking in the glow of her marriage and the newfound success of her film, got a chance to collect her thoughts in an Instagram post shared in March. Penning a heartfelt note, she appreciated the hard work of her crew and dwelled on her own thoughts. Sharing a carousel of clips from the film, she wrote, "Not me fainting at the numbers that Sanam Teri Kasam re-release is doing. Absolutely magical!" Reflecting on the unexpected love, she added, "Sanam Teri Kasam re-releasing is a testament to the fact that you can't get more than what your time and fate can offer. I'm so so grateful for the love you've all poured in during the last three weeks. It's unheard of. They're saying we've made history."
