Tiruchanur temple gets facelift ahead of ‘Varalakshmi Vratham'
The Sri Padmavati Ammavari temple in Tiruchanur is getting a facelift ahead of the 'Varalakshmi Vratham' festival, which will be observed from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Asthana Mandapam on August 8 (Friday). The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD), which manages the temple, is making elaborate arrangements under the 'Sowbhagyam' programme. The festivities will be live telecast through Sri Venkateswara Bhakti Channel (SVBC), and will also be displayed on LED screens installed around the temple for the benefit of the visiting devotees. A special set comprising divine materials such as 'Akshatha', 'Pasupudaram', 'Kankanam', Sri Lakshmi Ashtottara Satanamavali book, vermilion and bangles will be distributed to female devotees visiting the 51 TTD temples located across the two Telugu States on this day, under the 'Sowbhagyam' programme. The authorities are planning to provide special queue lines, enhance 'Annaprasadam', drinking water facilities and improve sanitation, while impressive electrical illumination, floral decoration and 'rangolis' are expected to be a highlight this time. In the evening, the processional idol of Goddess Padmavati Ammavaru will be taken on golden chariot on the streets around the shrine.

Sandalwood Debutant actor Raghuram is grateful to his better half Dr Akshatha for helping to realise his dream of becoming an actor by bankrolling Maayaavi.'I am from Chitradurga. Mayavi is my maiden movie in. My wife has encouraged me to act in this movie. The script narrated by Shankar G was quite interesting. The shooting of the movie is completed. The movie's teaser and a lyrical song were released by Shantaveera Swamiji and Sri Eshwarananda Swamiji. I thank Ambedkar Sene president P Murthy for gracing the function,'' said song – Aavarisu – was sung by Vijay Prakash while Agastya Santosh has scored its music. This song's lyrics are written by Anand G debuts as a director in Sandalwood with this movie. 'I have worked as associate director for a few Kannada movies. I thank Raghuram and Dr Akshata for giving me the opportunity to direct this movie. Both of them liked the script when I narrated it to is a suspense thriller,'' said the Shetty is paired opposite Raghuram. 'I am basically an engineer. This is my third movie in Sandalwood. I began my acting career with the Sri Jagannatha Dasaru that was released in 2021,'' she said.
