US dollar exchange rate remains steady in Baghdad, rises in Erbil
Baghdad ( – The exchange rate for the US dollar compared to the Iraqi dinar remained stable on Thursday in Baghdad and rose in the capital of the Kurdistan region of Iraq, Erbil. The US dollar exchange rate remained stable in Baghdad's Al-Kifah and Al-Harithiya stock exchanges, reaching 1,398.5 Iraqi dinars throughout the day. The exchange rate in currency exchange shops in Baghdad remained stable, ranging between 1,407.5 Iraqi dinars and 1,387.5 Iraqi dinars, Shafaq News reported. In Erbil, the US dollar exchange rate rose, fluctuating between 1,398 and 1,397 Iraqi dinars. The Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) said in February 2023 that it has begun using the new US dollar exchange rate of 1,300 dinars to every US dollar. The previous official exchange rate was 1,450 dinars to one US dollar, which was being exchanged in the parallel market at a rate of 1,550 dinars. While the official exchange rate was 1,450 dinars per dollar in January 2023, the US currency was being exchanged at 1,610 dinars during the same month in the parallel market in Iraq. This variation represented more than a 10 percent difference in exchange rates.

The exchange rate in currency exchange shops in Baghdad remained stable, ranging between 1,410 Iraqi dinars and 1,390 Iraqi dinars, Shafaq News reported. In Erbil, the US dollar exchange rate slightly rose, fluctuating between 1,397.5 and 1,397 Iraqi dinars. US dollar rates continue to drop in Baghdad and Erbil
Baghdad ( – The US dollar continued its decline against the Iraqi dinar in Sunday morning trading, extending a downward trend seen in recent days across the key markets of Baghdad and Erbil. Local market sources reported that the dollar's rate at Baghdad's central Al-Kifah and Al-Harithiya exchanges dropped to 139,550 dinars per 100 US dollars. This compares to a rate of 140,000 dinars recorded on Saturday. In the capital's local exchange shops, the selling price for the dollar was recorded at 140,500 dinars, while the buying price reached 138,500 dinars per 100 US dollars. The dollar also saw a decline in Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region, with a selling price of 139,300 dinars and a buying price of 139,100 dinars. The consistent downward movement of the dollar's value indicates a sustained strengthening of the Iraqi dinar in the nation's currency markets.

The selling and buying rates at currency exchange stores in Baghdad reached 140,500 IQD and 138,500 IQD per 100 USD, respectively. Erbil's selling price recorded 139,250 dinars for every 100 dollars, and the buying price was 139,000.

According to a survey by Shafaq News, the dollar's rates set at 140,900 dinars for every 100 dollars, at the opening of the central Al-Kifah and Al-Harithiya stock exchanges in Baghdad, compared to 141,000 IQD yesterday. The selling and buying rates at currency exchange stores in Baghdad reached 142,000 IQD and 140,000 IQD per 100 USD, respectively.
