Dollar prices stabilize in Baghdad, rise in Erbil
On Thursday, the exchange rates of the US Dollar against the Iraqi dinar remained stable in Baghdad and edged higher in Erbil market.
According to a survey by Shafaq News, the dollar's rates set at 139,500 dinars for every 100 dollars, at the closure of the central Al-Kifah and Al-Harithiya stock exchanges in Baghdad.
The selling and buying rates at currency exchange stores in Baghdad reached 140,500 IQD and 138,500 IQD per 100 USD, respectively.
Erbil's selling price recorded 139,250 dinars for every 100 dollars, and the buying price was 139,000.

Shafaq News – Kirkuk Iraq has signed a development deal with British energy firm BP to modernize North Gas Company (NGC) facilities in Kirkuk, Deputy Prime Minister for Energy and Oil Minister Hayan Abdul Ghani announced on Wednesday. Abdul Majid added that while dry gas and LPG serve local demand, gasoline is sold to private firms such as Al-Barham, and sulfur—now stockpiled at over 600,000 tons—is exported through the State Oil Marketing Organization. In turn, energy analyst Hassan Abdul Jabbar explained to Shafaq News that 'the BP partnership includes advanced systems designed to expand NGC's processing capacity and reduce operational waste.' He noted the project supports Iraq's long-term push for energy self-sufficiency by cutting dependence on imported gas and maximizing the country's domestic potential.

Iraq offers new transit air routes to meet airlines' growing demand
Baghdad ( – Due to increased demand from international airlines looking for routes through the country's airspace, the Iraqi Ministry of Transport started to open new air routes, a step that authorities believe might strengthen Iraq's worldwide aviation status. The spokesperson for the Ministry of Transport, Maytham al-Safi, told Iraq's official newspaper, al-Sabah, that the ministry has made considerable effort to establish aviation routes and improve the efficiency of operations to guarantee the safety and easy transit of planes across the country's airspace.
