Israeli strike on Khan Younis kills 18 displaced; Gaza death toll rises to 26 since dawn

DaysofPal- The death toll in Gaza continues to climb rapidly following a night of intense Israeli airstrikes and drone attacks across the besieged territory, with reports of at least 26 Palestinians killed since dawn on Wednesday, according to medical sources. The most devastating attack occurred overnight in Khan Younis, where an Israeli airstrike targeted a school sheltering displaced families. At least 18 people were killed in the strike, many of them newly displaced from eastern Khan Younis. The bombing underscores the ongoing collapse of any sense of 'safe zones,' as areas designated for shelter continue to come under fire. Other deadly incidents were reported across northern Gaza, including Jabalia and Gaza City. In southwest Gaza City, a man and his children were killed by an Israeli drone strike as they left the house where they were taking refuge in. Another drone attack in Jabalia killed two more civilians. An Israeli airstrike on a tent housing displaced people in the port area of Gaza killed at least seven people and injured a number more. The victims were transferred to Al-Shifa Hospital, which remains overwhelmed with casualties and critically short on medical supplies. Further south, another displaced person was killed and others injured when a drone targeted a tent west of Khan Younis. Simultaneously, Israeli warplanes, supported by artillery shelling, struck the towns of Bani Suhaila and Abasan al-Kabira, both east of Khan Younis. An Israeli airstrike on a tent settlement for displaced people in Gaza City's Al-Rimal neighborhood, where thousands of people had sought refuge after fleeing violence in northern Gaza, killed eight more people and injured several more on Tuesday. Adding to the chaos, Israeli forces reportedly opened fire on civilians near the Nablus roundabout, west of Gaza City, injuring an unspecified number of Palestinians. Despite mounting international condemnation, including over attacks in the vicinity of designated 'aid areas,' the Israeli military has reportedly imposed temporary restrictions on the entry of humanitarian aid. In the past 24 hours, 40 people have been killed, including one who was recovered, and 208 injured have arrived at hospitals in the Gaza Strip, according to the Ministry of Health's daily report. Yesterday's death toll increased to 85. The death toll and number of injuries since March 18, 2025, have reached 4,240 dead and 12,860 injured. The Ministry of Health in Gaza confirmed that a large number of victims remain under the rubble and on the streets, inaccessible to ambulance crews and civil defense teams. The Israeli aggression has killed 54,510 people and injured 124,901 since October 7, 2023. Shortlink for this post:

Gaza's Major Displacement Shelters Threatened with Israeli Bombing Amid Mass Expulsion Orders

DayofPal– In the early hours of Thursday, Israeli forces issued evacuation orders for some of Gaza City's most densely populated displacement centers, sparking panic among hundreds of thousands of already displaced Palestinians. The warnings, which come amid intensified bombardment, include threats to bomb Al-Shifa Hospital, the Islamic University, and several overcrowded schools now sheltering desperate families. Among the targeted schools are Mustafa Hafeth, Al-Furqan, Al-Karmel, and Al-Shati—facilities that had transformed into makeshift sanctuaries for those fleeing earlier waves of airstrikes. These new evacuation orders, centering on the Al-Rimal neighborhood, have plunged Gaza City into chaos. Families are scattering with no clear destination, sleeping on bare ground in and around shattered buildings, trapped in a cycle of repeated displacement. The Israeli military's threat against Al-Shifa Hospital, Gaza's largest medical facility and a critical lifeline for the wounded, has triggered a rushed relocation of patients to Al-Helou Hospital. But with infrastructure collapsing and no true safe zones remaining, medical staff warn that the system is nearing total breakdown. The assault on civilian infrastructure has reached new extremes. Yesterday, a heavy airstrike on Gaza's European Hospital resulted in dozens of casualties, including injured civilians and displaced families seeking shelter. The targeting of medical centers, schools, and universities reflects a strategy that critics say is systematically dismantling Gaza's ability to care for its own people. In a region already gripped by humanitarian catastrophe, this latest wave of attacks is being called one of the most dangerous escalations since Israel resumed full-scale operations. The death toll, which has surpassed 53,000, most of them women and children, continues to rise with each passing hour. Despite international legal actions, including ICC arrest warrants and a ruling from the International Court of Justice, Israeli forces continue their campaign, seemingly undeterred by mounting global condemnation. Human rights observers describe the situation as a genocide unfolding in real time, while Palestinians in Gaza remain trapped between rubble, fear, and the cruel uncertainty of survival. Israeli airstrike destroys emergency building of Gaza's Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital

Ammon News - In the early hours of Sunday morning, Israeli warplanes bombed the reception and emergency departments of Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital in Gaza City, rendering the facility completely out of service. According to local sources, two missiles struck the hospital's main reception building, causing massive destruction and sparking fires in critical departments including emergency care, the laboratory, and the pharmacy. Eyewitnesses reported that the Israeli military had issued a direct threat to bomb the hospital shortly before the strike, giving patients, wounded individuals, and medical staff just 18 minutes to evacuate. The forced eviction left many patients with no access to urgent care, as dozens were seen lying in the streets surrounding the hospital amid freezing weather conditions. Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital was a vital healthcare center serving over one million residents in Gaza City and the North Gaza district. Its destruction marks a severe blow to Gaza's already collapsing health system, which has been under relentless pressure since the outbreak of the ongoing Israeli genocide on October 7, 2023. Since the start of the aggression, 34 hospitals across Gaza have been destroyed and forced out of service, in addition to dozens of health centers and clinics. These Israeli attacks, rights groups argue, constitute clear violations of international law, particularly the Geneva Conventions which protect medical institutions during conflict. Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital had previously been the site of a devastating massacre on October 17, 2023, when a horrific Israeli airstrike killed 471 civilians, including patients and displaced families sheltering in the hospital. Located on the northern edge of the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City, Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital is managed by the Anglican Episcopal Church in Jerusalem. It is one of the oldest medical facilities in Gaza, having been established in 1882. In recent months, following the destruction of major medical centers like Al-Shifa Hospital, the Indonesian Hospital, and Kamal Adwan Hospital, Al-Ahli had become the primary medical facility for northern Gaza. It had been receiving dozens of casualties daily from continuous Israeli air raids since the collapse of the ceasefire on March 18, 2025. WAFA
