LAHORE: In its ongoing efforts to bring the finest cinematic experiences to the people of Lahore, the Lahore Arts Council's Alhamra Film Club screened the internationally acclaimed film 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon,' a timeless martial arts masterpiece directed by the legendary Ang Lee. Chairman Alhamra, Razi Ahmed; Executive Director Alhamra, Tauqeer Haider Kazmi; and Alhamra Board Member, Sofia Baidar, attended the special screening and praised the artistic depth and philosophical strength of the film. 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon' is a cinematic jewel that combines the grace of martial arts with the emotional intricacy of love, duty, sacrifice, and self-realization. Alhamra chairman receives French cultural award

Lahore Arts Council (Alhamra) Chairman and founder of the Lahore Literary Festival Razi Ahmed has been awarded the Chevalier in the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters) by the French Ministry of Culture. The award was presented at a ceremony on June 11, 2025, at the residence of the French Ambassador in Islamabad. Ambassador of France to Pakistan, Nicolas Galey, formally conferred the distinction in the presence of Ahmed's family and several foreign diplomats and cultural representatives. The attendees included British High Commissioner Jane Marriott, EU Ambassador Riina Kionka and ambassadors of Portugal, Italy, Bulgaria, Ireland, and Argentina, along with the Head of the UN in Pakistan and other officials. The event highlighted ongoing cooperation between France and Pakistan in arts and culture.

LAHORE: The Lahore Arts Council (Alhamra) played host to a vibrant delegation of international tourists from France, Turkiye, Belarus, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Switzerland, and several other countries this week, in a celebration of cross-cultural connection through art and heritage. The visit marked a significant moment in Pakistan's cultural diplomacy efforts as Executive Director Tauqeer Haider Kazmi welcomed the guests and led them on a guided tour of Alhamra's facilities. Kazmi described the occasion as a reflection of Alhamra's mission to safeguard and promote Pakistan's artistic legacy while fostering global cultural dialogue. 'Our aim is to preserve the richness of Pakistani arts while building bridges of understanding through creative exchange,' Kazmi said during the tour. 'Art speaks a universal language - and here, it brings people together.' The delegation visited the Alhamra Art Gallery, where they viewed a contemporary exhibition centered on themes of heritage, sustainability, and innovation.
