Ex-North Carolina forward Ven-Allen Lubin is heading a half-hour or so southeast on Interstate 40, committing Sunday to play at Atlantic Coast Conference rival North Carolina State in the 2025-26 season. He made the announcement via a social media post. Wearing a Wolfpack uniform, Lubin simply wrote "Committed." Lubin entered the transfer portal on April 21 after spending one season with the Tar Heels. He appeared in 37 games (20 starts) and averaged 8.7 points, 5.5 rebounds in the 2024-25 campaign. Prior to North Carolina, the Florida native played single seasons at Notre Dame and Vanderbilt. Lubin has career averages of 9.0 points and 5.4 rebounds in 91 games (53 starts). He is a career 61.6 percent shooter from 2-point range. He averaged 12.3 points and 6.3 rebounds in 26 games for Vanderbilt in the 2023-24 season. Lubin, 6-foot-8 and 230 pounds, is a two-time selection to the All-ACC Tournament team. Now 21, Lubin was ranked by 247Sports as a four-star prospect in the Class of 2022. NC State has rebuilt its roster following the hiring of former Chattanooga, VCU, LSU and Mcneese State head coach Will Wade. The team has eight incoming transfers, including recent high-profile addition Darrion Williams, formerly of Texas Tech. --Field Level Media Field Level Media 2023 - All Rights Reserved

DURHAM, N.C. (Clemson SID) – No. 2 North Carolina scored eight runs in the fifth inning in its 14-4 victory over No. 12 Clemson in the championship game of the ACC Tournament at Durham Bulls Athletic Park on Sunday afternoon. The Tar Heels took advantage of a two-out error to score the game's first run in the first inning, then North Carolina plated two runs in the second inning, capped by Jackson Van De Brake's two-out, run-scoring single. Alex Madera flared a run-scoring single in the third inning. In the fifth inning, Hunter Stokely and Tyson Bass both belted two-run homers and Van De Brake added a three-run homer in the eight-run frame. Cal transfer Andrej Stojakovic commits to Illinois

Former Cal guard Andrej Stojakovic committed to Illinois on Monday. Stojakovic, the son of former Sacramento Kings All-Star Peja Stojakovic, made the announcement in a post to X. He chose the Illini over North Carolina and Stanford. 'They really believe I'm the missing piece to what they think is a national championship team,' he told ESPN. Stojakovic spent his freshman year at Stanford before transferring to Bay Area rival Cal for 2024-25. A former five-star high school recruit, Stojakovic's numbers rose sharply with the Golden Bears, as he averaged 17.9 points and 4.7 rebounds per game in 29 games (28 starts). He was named to the All-ACC Tournament team. In 61 games (38 starts) between Stanford and Cal, the 6-foot-7 guard has career averages of 12.6 points and 4.0 rebounds per contest. Illinois signs Cal transfer Andrej Stojaković, son of former NBA All-Star Peja Stojaković

The Illinois men's basketball team added high-profile transfer Andrej Stojaković to its new-look roster Monday. Stojaković, the son of three-time Sacramento Kings All-Star Peja Stojaković, signed with Illinois after a sophomore season at California in which he averaged 17.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.2 blocks. The 6-foot-7 guard from Carmichael, Calif., played his freshman season at Stanford and averaged 7.8 points and 3.4 rebounds. ESPN ranked him the 31st-best player in the transfer portal this spring after he received All-ACC honorable mention in the regular season and was selected to the All-ACC Tournament first team. Illinois coach Brad Underwood called Stojaković 'a very important addition' because of his experience, high basketball IQ and productivity. 'Andrej is a veteran, proven scorer who does it in all three facets: catch and shoot, off the dribble and post-ups,' Underwood said in a statement. 'He has great size on the perimeter, ballhandling skills, playmaking abilities, quickness on the defensive end and knack for blocking shots. 'He has had very good coaching and shows a tremendous understanding for how to play the game on both ends of the court.' Stojaković is the second transfer addition for the Illini this offseason. Zvonimir Ivišić, the 7-foot-2 twin brother of Illinois center Tomislav Ivišić, transferred from Arkansas earlier this month. The additions contribute to the Illini's international flavor one season after they had three international recruits. Stojaković was born in the United States, but his father is Serbian. The Ivišić twins are from Croatia. The Illini also secured commitments from Serbian guard Mihailo Petrović and Montenegrin forward David Mirković. Illinois, which finished last season 22-13 and lost in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, needed to replace three starters and a couple of reserves. Starting guard Kasparas Jakučionis and wing Will Riley declared for the NBA draft, and guard Tre White transferred to Kansas. Reserve center Morez Johnson Jr. transferred to Michigan. Guard Kylan Boswell returns to start for Illinois along with Tomislav Ivišić.
