It's an interesting pivot for the 6-foot-3 former pro, who initially upon retiring became a part-time consultant for the Golden State Warriors during their run to multiple consecutive titles. He won championships with the franchise in 2017 and '18 in that capacity. More NBA News: Former Nets Coach Steve Nash Opens Up About Failed Stint in Brooklyn Nash then pivoted to a surprise head coaching role with the Brooklyn Nets. During his first debut season, 2020-21, he guided Brooklyn to a 48-24 overall record in a COVID-19-shortened 72-game season and finished sixth in Coach of the Year voting. Now, the 51-year-old is making a full transition to broadcasting. Earlier this year, he joined fellow multi-time MVP LeBron James on the latter's pod "Mind The Game," following the departure of former co-host JJ Redick to serve as James' head coach with the Los Angeles Lakers. It appears that Nash's stint on "Mind The Game" has only increased his appetite for media opportunities. Marc Stein of The Stein Line reports that Nash is now slated to join his former Hall of Fame Dallas Mavericks teammate Dirk Nowitzki, former six-time All-Star forward Blake Griffin, and reporter Taylor Rooks to serve on Amazon's NBA coverage club for 2025-26 andd beyond. Steve Nash recently began podcasting alongside LeBron James and will now expand his basketball broadcasting profile by joining Taylor Rooks, Dirk Nowitzki and Blake Griffin on Amazon's NBA coverage team starting next season. Full story from @TheSteinLine: — Marc Stein (@TheSteinLine) April 29, 2025 It's a big move for Nash, and it will be fascinating to see him grow his personality in the media spotlight as an analyst. Draymond slyly claps back at Robertson for HOFer's passing critique

Draymond slyly claps back at Robertson for HOFer's passing critique originally appeared on NBC Sports Bay Area Draymond Green issued a stern response to Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson's critique of him in the most respectful way he could. After the former 12-time NBA All-Star grilled Green for calling the league 'boring' during All-Star Weekend, the veteran Warriors forward responded to Robertson on the latest episode of his podcast, 'The Draymond Green Show with Baron Davis.' 'I thought those comments were very interesting,' Green told co-host Baron Davis. 'The 'Big O' is 86 years old, so if you think I'm going to come on here and disrespect because there was disrespect thrown, that ain't how I roll. I'm never going to disrespect one of the pioneers of the game because he shared a bad opinion. 'When speaking of the Big O, though … We want to enjoy our last years we got with our pioneers, the time we do have left with them, we're going to enjoy that. I'm going to enjoy these last years.' "Who cares what Draymond says" 😂😂 NBA legend and HOF'er Oscar Robertson in response to Draymond Green's comments about the NBA being boring.@TermineRadio | @TheFrankIsola — SiriusXM NBA Radio (@SiriusXMNBA) February 17, 2025 In his criticism of Green, Robertson said the Warriors forward might find today's NBA 'boring' because of how frequently he passes the ball to sharpshooting teammate Steph Curry. Green doesn't understand that criticism one bit, and pointed out what he believes to be the irony in Robertson's comments. 'When we start talking about knowing the game and how you think the game, I'm not sure what idiot wouldn't want to pass Steph Curry the ball when he's the greatest shooter of all time,' Green added. 'I don't really take that personal. Certain games I'm going to look for him even more than you're accustomed to me looking for him, because why wouldn't I? '… For a guy who averaged 11 assists [per game], you were also passing the ball. You cannot quite average 11 assists and not pass the ball. In the year that Big O won a championship when he was starting to age, you were passing the ball to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar himself. Not quite sure where the dig comes from.' Green also revealed that he saw and spoke with Robertson before the Kia Skills Challenge during All-Star Saturday Night at Chase Center and received plenty of praise from his soon-to-be detractor. 'During the skills challenge that I blew, I saw him on the sidelines,' Green shared. 'I got up out of my seat, I said 'hello,' and he's like, 'Man, you're still out there doing it. Keep on going, love watching you play, man. I just love watching you play, you keep going.' So to hear him say that and then the next morning he completely flipped and go opposite, I was a little surprised by that, I must say. Because it wasn't quite that same energy when I saw him.' Maybe, as Green speculates, Robertson just doesn't tune in to many Warriors games. 'Quite honestly, at 86, I'm pretty sure Big O ain't watching many of our games. Big O [is] sound asleep by the time we play at night,' Green told a giggling Davis. 'He sound asleep. There's zero percent chance Big O is up watching the Dubs.' Fair point. Chicago basketball report: Bulls lead the NBA in lost viewers — and Angel Reese gets tough love from a legend

Have you been watching Chicago Bulls games this season? According to a Sports Business Journal report, the answer is most likely 'no.' The report found Bulls television viewership has plummeted 63% from the 2023-24 season, the largest drop-off of any NBA team. The next-closest decreases, as of Feb. 1, were for the Miami Heat (56%), Atlanta Hawks (50%), Utah Jazz (44%) and Washington Wizards (36%). And after trading away the team's most popular player, Zach LaVine, and with a tank job potentially looming, Bulls viewership likely will worsen for the final stretch of the season. The change in regional network from NBC Sports Chicago to the new Chicago Sports Network has vexed Bulls and Blackhawks fans. CHSN has yet to negotiate a carriage agreement with Comcast, meaning many area fans must purchase an antenna — or dust one off from the attic — to access games over the air. And with the Bulls sitting 11 games under .500 at the All-Star break, many have chosen not to engage with the team at all. The result? Another negative statistic to add to the pile for a team that has won only one playoff game in the last seven seasons. Lisa Leslie offers Angel Reese tough love Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese hosted WNBA legend Lisa Leslie on this week's episode of her podcast, 'Unapologetically Angel' — and drew some constructive criticism in the process. Leslie is one of the best frontcourt players in the history of the sport, and the two have worked together during the offseason as Reese focuses on fundamentals to prepare for her second WNBA season. When asked for guidance in Year 2, Leslie was blunt about Reese's greatest flaw as a player. 'The biggest advice I have for you is going to be how you shoot your layups,' Leslie said. 'We're going to fix that. That's fixable for you.' Leslie emphasized growth in other key areas of Reese's game, including her outside shot, ballhandling and defense. Reese shot only 42.4% on layups as a rookie — a glaring weakness for an elite rebounder. She is currently playing for Rose in Unrivaled, which concludes in March. NBA All-Star weekend did not go as planned for Bulls rookie Matas Buzelis. Buzelis was only the fifth Bulls player to participate in the Slam Dunk Contest on All-Star Saturday Night and hoped to become the first to win it since Michael Jordan in 1988. But Buzelis had a failure to launch from the start of the contest, missing all six attempts of his opening dunk, which involved dribbling the ball between his legs while launching from behind the basket. He managed to land his second dunk — a redirected reverse with the ball lobbed to him off the side of the backboard — but still finished with the lowest aggregate score (87.4) in the first round. G League player Mac McClung became the first to win three consecutive dunk contests, highlighted by dunking over a Kia sedan after grabbing the ball out of the sunroof. Kamilla Cardoso finishes the regular season in China This has been a busy — and crucial — offseason for Sky center Kamilla Cardoso. The former No. 3 pick took little time to rest before heading to the Women's Chinese Basketball Association, where she played for the Shanghai Sharks. Cardoso averaged 20.7 points, 10.2 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.2 steals in 31 games for the Sharks, who finished fourth in their league group with a 20-11 record at the conclusion of the regular season this week. Cardoso will remain with the Sharks through the playoffs — which typically conclude in mid-April — before returning to Chicago for preseason training. Number of the week: 27 After the All-Star break, there are only 27 games left for the Chicago Bulls in the NBA season. The Bulls entered the break on a four-game losing streak that helped propel them to eighth overall in the draft odds. Despite a 22-33 record, the Bulls are still sitting in play-in tournament position with a 10th-place ranking in the Eastern Conference. But the Philadelphia 76ers and Brooklyn Nets are only 1.5 games back in the standings, giving the Bulls some space to potentially tank even deeper — and higher into the draft lottery odds — if they choose to continue that path. Week ahead: Bulls Thursday: at Knicks, 6:30 p.m. (CHSN) Saturday: vs. Suns, 4 p.m. (CHSN) Week ahead: Unrivaled What we're reading

Reggie Miller will be lead game analyst when NBC begins its NBA coverage next season

STAMFORD, Conn. (AP) — Reggie Miller will be NBC Sports' lead game analyst when it begins its coverage of the NBA next season, the network announced Tuesday. Miller has been one of TNT Sports lead NBA analysts for 20 years. He called his 18th All-Star Game this past weekend. When Miller joins NBC in October, he is expected to call one or more games per week during the regular season and playoffs. Coincidentally, some of the top moments in Miller's 18-year playing career with the Indiana Pacers occurred on NBC, which carried NBA games from 1990 through 2002. That included Game 1 of the 1995 Eastern Conference semifinals against the New York Knicks when he scored eight points in a span of 9 seconds at Madison Square Garden to beat the New York Knicks. 'Some of my most memorable moments have been on NBC and I'm looking forward to creating more,' Miller said in a statement. Miller — elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2012 — also was selected to the NBA 75th Anniversary team. 'Having provided so many memorable moments on NBC during his playing days, it's only fitting that Reggie will join our team as the NBA returns to NBC and debuts on Peacock,' NBC Sports executive producer Sam Flood said in a statement. 'As basketball fans know, not only was Reggie one of the game's greatest shooters and clutch performers, but he was also one of its most entertaining players with a unique combination of skill and swagger. He has successfully brought those traits to his broadcasting career and consistently provides viewers with in-depth analysis while pulling no punches.' NBC will have up to 100 regular-season games, including on Sunday night once the NFL season has ended. It will also have games on Tuesday throughout the regular season, while a Monday night doubleheader will be exclusively streamed on Peacock. NBC will also have the All-Star Game and All-Star Saturday Night. During the playoffs, NBC and/or Peacock will have up to 28 games the first two rounds, with at least half on NBC. It also will carry one of the two conference finals in six of the 11 years of the deal. NBC previously announced that Mike Tirico will be the lead play-by-play announcer, Jamal Crawford will be a game analyst and Frank DiGraci will serve as coordinating producer. Noah Eagle, who does college football, college basketball and some NFL games, is also expected to be a part of NBC's coverage even though an announcement has not been made. Jalen Rose is a game analyst for college basketball on NBC/Peacock, but does have NBA studio and analyst experience from his time with ESPN/ABC. ___ AP NBA:
