Alaska tells EW in an exclusive statement that her partner, Matthew Hermann, proposed in her hometown. "I love him so much and he's the best," Alaska says of the Drag Race season 5 queen Alaska won the All Stars 2 crown — and now a ring from partner Matthew Herrmann, whom the drag superstar exclusively tells Entertainment Weekly proposed to her Sunday night in her hometown of Erie, Pa. "My longtime partner Matthew Herrmann proposed to me yesterday," Alaska exclusively tells EW in an statement. "It was after my grandma's 90th birthday celebration." Alaska continues, explaining that Herrmann "is a Los Angeles-based producer and educator." "I love him so much and he's the best," the statement finishes, with several heart emojis following. TheDrag Race star stoked speculation about her engagement after sharing an Instagram photo on Monday showing a left hand sporting a silver band on the ring finger, with many fellow show alums offering their congratulations in the comments. "Congrats sis!" wrote season 9 contestant, All Stars 5 winner, and Ironheart actor Shea Couleé, with season 13 and All Stars 10 alum Denali commenting, "omg congrats lasky!!" Other well-wishing messages came from season 14 and All Stars 10 queen Bosco, season 3, All Stars 1, and All Stars 4 queen Manila Luzon, and perennial competitor Jujubee, among others. Herrmann often shares social media photos that feature Alaska, including a January snapshot highlighting one of Alaska's feature interviews in the New York Times, which centered on the entertainer's successful Drag: The Musical stage show in New York City. "Congratulations," Herrmann wrote in the post. "I am so so proud of you." Prior to her relationship with Herrmann, Alaska was famously romantically involved with Drag Race season 4 winner and fellow Pittsburgh drag queen Sharon Needles, with the pair remaining together for several years before ending their relationship in 2013. After auditioning several times (and even appearing in the audience during the season 4 finale), Alaska finally landed a spot on the season 5 cast, ultimately finishing the show as a finalist before returning to win All Stars 2 in 2016. Now, Alaska hosts the weekly Race Chaser podcast alongside another Drag Race season 4 alum, Willam, and even competed on VH1's supernatural series Scared Famous. Elon Musk's Daughter Discovered She Had A Half-Sibling Through Reddit, And The Story Is Absolutely Unhinged
This week, in another news cycle of chaos, Elon Musk's estranged daughter, Vivian Wilson, went viral on TikTok for sharing she learned the news about some of her new siblings through social media. After conservative influencer Ashley St. Clair announced last week that she gave birth to Elon's 13th child, Vivian shared a TikTok writing that this was not the first, but the second time she found out about a potential sibling via Reddit. "Wow, if I had a nickel for every time I found out I had half-siblings through Reddit, I'd have two nickels... which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice, right?" she wrote over a short clip. In another post on Threads, Vivian shared that she has actually found out about six of her half-siblings through the Internet. "'I don't know how many siblings I have' goes really hard on 2 truths and a lie though I will admit," she said. @vivllainous / Via When asked which platform was the worst to find out on, she replied, "r/rupaulsdragrace I am being so deadass right now." In a follow-up TikTok, she shared the story. "Storytime, I found out about the existence of my half-brother through she began. "This is a real thing that actually happened to me, and if it sounds insane, it is." She proceeded to share how exactly she found out about Elon Musk and Grimes' latest child — and her new sibling. "I'm going to paint you a scene. The year is 2022, and at the time, me and Grimes, or as I know her, C, are not talking. We're not on bad terms; we're just not talking, as people do." Vivian went on to explain that she was on the RuPaul Drag Race subreddit when she came across the news. "The specific day of, I didn't really have anything to do, so I was just scrolling on Reddit, and I'm a huge fan of Drag Race, so naturally, I was on the Drag Race subreddit. And what do I come across but none other than a tweet from season 2 and All Stars 2 contestant Tatianna," she said. She continued, "I found this tweet that was crossposted onto the subreddit, and I had no idea of this at the time because no one thought to let me know. So at the moment, I'm just in complete shock, and I don't believe it, so I double-check it on the news, and it turns out it's actually fucking true, and I'm just the last one to find out about it." @vivllainous / Via She said, "This is a real thing that happened to me, girl. I found out about my half-brother because of the fucking same-parts drag queen, whomst we stan." Vivian clarified, "This isn't to drag on C or anything. It kind of makes sense how this happened because, again, we were not really talking at the time, but I just think it's funny because... choices." Vivian, who transitioned and legally changed her name to drop "Musk" in 2022, is one of Musk's children with his first wife, Justine Wilson. Vivian has previously alluded to Musk being an absentee dad. After Elon Musk went on a rant on X in July 2024 claiming, while deadnaming her, that he knew Vivian was "born gay and slightly autistic" because she liked musicals, amongst other bizarre claims, Vivian wrote, "This entire thing is completely made up and there's a reason for this. He doesn't know what I was like as a child because he quite simply wasn't there, and in the little time that he was I was relentlessly harassed for my femininity and queerness." @vivllainous / Via She continued, "Obviously he can't say that, so I've been reduced to a happy little stereotype f*g-ing along to use at his discretion. I think that says alot about how he views queer people and children in general." Vivian proceeded to defend her gender identity and then gave some... choice words about Musk, criticizing him for seeking validation "from an army of degenerate red-pilled incels and pick-mes who are quick to give it to him." Anyhoo, finding out about your half-sibling, born to the richest man in the world, through the RuPaul Drag Race subreddit is truly one of the most unhinged things I've read in awhile. I'm glad Vivian can find humor in all the mess, and all I can do is wish her well.
