Amar, Qobin Complete Cycling Mission, Arrive At Prophet's Mosque In Madinah

KUALA LUMPUR, May 29 (Bernama) -- After an epic 33-day journey across four countries, the 'Journey to Tanah Haram' adventure mission by actor Amar Baharin and National Grand Slam explorer Datuk Muhamad Muqharabbin Mokhtarrudin 'Qobin' reached an emotional finale with their safe arrival at the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah, at 10.45 am (Saudi Arabia time), today. The duo completed their final leg this morning, cycling 115 kilometres from Al Henakiyah to the Prophet's Mosque. Muhamad Muqharabbin expressed gratitude for the successful completion of their journey. "Alhamdulillah, all praise to Allah for allowing us to set foot in the blessed land of Madinah, mostly by bicycle, travelling over land and by air. 'We weren't aiming to set any records; we simply wanted to fulfil a shared dream of cycling and journeying from our homeland to Madinah,' he said in a statement to the media, today. Meanwhile, Amar described the journey as an 'epic' experience, one that was both mentally and physically demanding, especially having to endure extreme heat, with temperatures reaching up to 50 degrees Celsius. 'I felt deeply moved, amazed, and never imagined I would be able to reach Madinah by travelling overland, with a bicycle as our main mode of transport. We're both eagerly looking forward to visiting the Prophet's Mosque and the Tomb of the Prophet,' he said. The 'Journey to Tanah Haram' adventure mission, which began in Padang Besar, Perlis, on April 27, was flagged off by the Raja Muda of Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, and concluded today in Madinah. --BERNAMA

Amar Baharin, Qobin Near End Of Epic Cycling Journey To Madinah

KUALA LUMPUR, May 28 (Bernama) -- After weeks on the road, actor Amar Baharin and national Grand Slam explorer Datuk Muhammad Muqharabbin Mokhtarrudin, better known as Qobin, are just days away from completing their incredible 'Journey to Tanah Haram' cycling mission. Currently in Qassim, Saudi Arabia, the duo have been riding from Riyadh to Al-Ghat and are now preparing for the final push — a gruelling 120 to 150 kilometres from Al Henakiyah to Madinah. They expect to arrive in the holy city within the next three to four days. Despite their determination, the journey has not been without challenges. Muhammad Muqharabbin in a statement said he suffered muscle cramps due to the scorching heat and was forced to rest for two nights in Qassim. 'We ask for everyone's prayers as we approach our final days before reaching Madinah,' he said. Amar, meanwhile, shared some of the unexpected blessings they've experienced along the way — including flat tyres that happened to occur right in front of workshops or shaded spots, and generous locals who offered them food and drinks. 'We were often given free accommodation by Malaysians in the UAE and Saudi Arabia. We never expected this kind of help. We tried not to burden anyone, but Allah arranged everything for us,' he said. Thanks to the kindness they received, their total expenses for the mission did not even reach RM12,000.

Amar Bahrin and Datuk Qobin are close to arriving in Madinah

28 May - It was revealed that Amar Baharin and Datuk Muhamad Muqharabbin Mokhtarrudin (aka Qobin) are now 400 kilometres away from Saudi Arabia's Madinah. Sharing this piece of information with the media recently, Amar's wife and actress Amyra Rosli stated that the two of them, who embarked on their cycling journey back in late April, have already entered the Al Qasim Province earlier this week and will be on their way to Masjidil Nabawi. She also revealed that Amar and Qobin do not travel every day seeing that the temperature is currently too high for them to make continuous journey. "They would rest around one to two days after cycling for a certain distance, and then continue. They are not in a rush because there are a lot of people in Makkah and Madinah right now," she said. It is noted that the Holy City of Mekah is currently filled with people preparing to do their Hajj. At the same time, Amyra said that the mission might actually end in Madinah instead of Mekah due to the aforementioned reason, adding that any change of plans will be announced later. On the other hand, Amyra said that she is relieved to hear that both men are being treated well by the locals, with some even giving them free accommodations and food. "It really makes me happy to hear that people have been very kind in giving them help in terms of food and drinks," she added. (Photo Source: Amar IG)
