Coronation Street's Claire Sweeney shows off lucrative second job and luxury suite

CORONATION Street star Claire Sweeney has a sweet side gig performing on cruise ships. The TV icon, who plays evil Cassie on the ITV soap, is currently onboard the Ambassador Cruises' ship, Ambience, where she is getting ready to put on a concert for guests. 6 6 6 6 Claire showed off her deluxe cabin, complete with a balcony, personalised chocolates with a welcome message and huge wardrobe. "So this is my home for the next couple of days, I've got my show tomorrow night," Claire said in a video of her cabin that she posted to her Instagram stories. "It's been a crazy few days, I've got today to chill out then I go and do my show tomorrow night." As she took the camera out onto the balcony, she commented: "This is nice, I always like to have a cup of tea out here of a morning. It's lovely." Claire boarded the ship in Lisbon, Portugal and will depart when it reaches Gibraltar on Monday. She is one of a number of soap stars that will provide entertainment on the Ambassador Cruise lines this year, with the others including Dean Andrews, Beverly Callard, Sue Cleaver, and Catherine Tyldesley. They will each participate in the company's 'In Conversation With…' talks and meet and greets on board the Ambience and Ambition ship. The actress is no stranger to cruise ships as she used to work on them as an entertainer and serves as an ambassador for travel company, Just You. Claire also starred in the first two series of the Channel 5 smash-hit murder mystery The Good Ship Murder where she played the role of the ship's entertainment director Beverley Carnell. She performed at the VE Day 80 concert on May 8 in front of King Charles and other members of the Royal Family. Claire performed alongside fellow soap stars Emma Barton and Michelle Hardwick in a tribute to the Andrews Sisters. Their medley included the classic songs, In the Mood, Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, and Sing, Sing, Sing. The actress recently teased what's in store for her Corrie character, including Cassie's "evil" plan to manipulate Ken Barlow. Coronation Street's Claire Sweeney reveals she rejected an intimacy co-ordinator Claire, 53, said her character has filmed some explosive scenes with arch nemesis and Ken's daughter Tracy Barlow. She also teased that Cassie's evil plan has only just started and said it will play out for the next few months. Speaking exclusively to the Sun, Claire revealed: 'Cassie manages to talk herself out of so many situations. She doesn't want to hurt Ken, she's just keeping him sleepy so he needs her. "She just wants him to need her, Ken is the first person who sees her and gives her time and teaches her things - it's like in Pygmalion, My Fair Lady type of relationship, where within the house she's got the romance with Steve McDonald, she's got the banter with Tracy and she suddenly feels part of something.' 6 6
