Winnipeg office staff meets John Travolta during movie shoot
Staff at the Island Lakes Child and Family Services office in Winnipeg are still in awe following their run-in with a Hollywood star last week. Staff members were able to meet John Travolta outside of their Wellington Avenue office last week. Travolta was filming a scene from the upcoming movie 'November 1963' next door to their office. Amelia Robertson, a supervisor at the office, said staff members gathered in the parking lot after work to try and catch a glimpse of the star. 'He didn't hesitate to come towards us,' she said. 'It was an opportunity to meet a superstar that makes films that are well-known, and we were happy to meet him, and it was very exciting for all of us at the CFS staff.' Staff gave Travolta a gift of tobacco and an eagle painting during the meeting. Travolta also posed for selfies and shook hands with the staff before leaving. The film, which tells the story of the JFK Assasination from the perspective of the Mafia, also stars Mandy Patakin and Dermot Mulroney and was filmed throughout Winnipeg during the summer. The film is now wrapped and a release date has not been made public.
