30 injured as Delhi-bound busoverturns on Ayodhya highway
Lucknow: As many as 30 people were injured, including two critically, after a sleeper bus from Gorakhpur to Delhi lost control and overturned near Dharauli village on the Lucknow-Ayodhya highway early on Thursday morning. The sudden commotion on the highway drew local villagers to the scene, who immediately began efforts to rescue passengers trapped inside the bus. After approximately an hour of efforts, all injured passengers were extricated from the bus and transported to the Ramsanehighat Community Health Centre. "30 injured persons were brought to the CHC. Of these, two passengers, due to the severity of their injuries, were referred to the district hospital," said Dr Amresh Verma, superintendent, CHC. According to the injured passengers, the bus driver stopped at a roadside eatery during the journey and consumed alcohol. Subsequently, he drove the bus at high speed in a reckless manner. In the Ramsanehighat area, he lost control, causing the bus to overturn on the highway. .
