The popular show made multiple cast members into enduring household names. 4 4 4 Classic episodes of Byker Grove will be available to stream for free on STV Player and ITVX. Ant & Dec featured prominently in the series, playing best friends P.J. and Duncan. The streaming services have partnered with Ant & Dec's production company Mitre Studios - which owns the rights to Byker Grove - in order to relaunch the series. Viewers across the UK can stream it now on STV Player and on ITVX from later this year. Ant & Dec's characters, PJ & Duncan were among the most popular and enjoyed chart success with eight Top 20 singles - including Let's Get Ready to Rhumble. Having launched on BBC One in 1989, Byker Grove fast became an after-school viewing staple for teenagers. The series takes place in Byker, Newcastle - while following the lives of young people at local youth club, the Grove. During its run, Byker Grove tackled social issues such as abortion, drug addiction and homophobia. In 1994, it also featured the first gay kiss on UK children's TV - when character Noddy Fishwick kissed his friend Gary Hendrix. Past cast members also include Jill Halfpenny, who featured from 1989 to 1992. In addition, Donna Air starred in four series from 1992 until 1995. Byker Grove follows another legendary British drama, Brookside onto STV Player. The streaming service relaunched classic episodes of the iconic Merseyside soap. Richard Williams, STV's Managing Director, Audience: Video & Technology, said: 'Just when you thought the 90s revival might have been slowing down, we've only gone and brought back one of the seminal TV shows of the decade. 'Byker Grove was an integral part of so many British childhoods and we're delighted that those original viewers – now of a slightly more mature vintage – can relive all the nostalgic action on STV Player. Ant and Dec's incredible career ANT McPartlin and Declan Donnelly met on the set of Byker Grove in 1990. Panel Of 2024 Labour Voters Name The 1 Turning Point They Began To Like Farage

A panel of 2024 Labour voters said they started to like Reform UK after watching its leader Nigel Farage on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!. Back in late 2023 before he was elected to parliament, Farage caused a huge stir by appearing in the hit reality TV show. Even the programme's hosts Ant and Dec urged producers to take a break from having politicians as contestants. But, Farage still won over voters and ended up in third place. More than 18 months later, a panel of voters who backed Labour last July told pollsters that his appearance on the show marked the moment they started warming up to the MP for Clacton. In footage aired by the BBC's Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg, one voter told pollsters More in Common: 'I really like Reform. 'I didn't [like him], but it was I'm A Celeb... which turned my head for Nigel. 'I really saw a different side to him and I think he's very misunderstood.' 'He's more relatable to people, to the average person,' another woman said. 'Whereas some politicians at the present seem far removed, they're so in another world, because they are public school educated, they can't relate to the average person.' However, a different person did jump in at this point, saying: 'Nigel Farage was publicly educated, while Keir Starmer is working class but he does present that. 'So Nigel Farage puts on this image of being one of the people, but actually he went to private school.' Even so, some voters suggested they would fire Starmer for his 'disappointing' performance over the last year unless he starts to 'try harder'. Good Morning Britain host Susanna Reid also told the BBC that this conversation demonstrated how voters 'need to feel a material difference in their lives'. She noted that they are still struggling with food inflation and cost of living, so the 'government are getting this wrong'. 'Perhaps Sir Keir Starmer needs to go on I'm A Celebrity... or Strictly, in order for voters to know who he is,' Reid suggested. 'The words that kept coming out of their mouths were: I don't know who he is.' "I'm A Celebrity turned my head for Nigel [Farage]"Some focus group members think Reform UK's leader is different from "public school-educated" politicians, but another points out Nigel Farage was privately educated and Keir Starmer was not#BBCLauraKhttps:// — BBC Politics (@BBCPolitics) July 6, 2025 The focus group's findings were published to mark the anniversary of Labour's landslide victory in the general election as political pundits look at how Starmer has fallen down in the polls ever since. Sky News had its own devastating way of portraying Labour's first year in office with some brutal word clouds, again from More in Common. The pollsters asked the public: 'In a word or two, what would you say has been Labour's biggest achievement in government?' The largest word by a healthy margin was 'nothing', although – in much smaller fonts – NHS, welfare, winter, election and Ukraine were all visible too. Ant and Dec hit with triple blow at the TRIC Awards as they are snubbed in three categories - as full list of winners is revealed

Ant and Dec were hit with a triple blow at the Television and Radio Industries Club (TRIC) Awards held at Grosvenor House in London on Tuesday night. The Geordie duo, both 49, were nominated in three categories - Entertainment, Gameshow, and TV Personality - and were snubbed in all three. Ant and Dec were nominated for I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! in the Entertainment category which was won by Clarkson's Farm. They also lost to The 1% Club in the gameshow category after being nominated for their show Limitless Win. They also lost to Bradley Walsh in the TV Personality category. Meanwhile Stacey Solomon lost out on a career accolade once again after she missed out on the award for Social Media Broadcaster at awards. The TV presenter was nominated alongside Eddie Hall (The Beast), Rob Beckett and LadBaby and it was the latter who received the honour. The loss comes just months after Stacey, 35, was left disappointed when her show Sort Your Life Out lost out on the Factual Entertainment prize at the 2025 BAFTA Television Awards. At the time the star let rip at the BAFTA judges in an online rant as she said her team were 'robbed' of the accolade, prompting backlash from fans who branded her a 'bad loser'. And once again Stacey lost out on an accolade after this year's TRIC winners were decided by a million votes from the British Public from a list of pre-established nominations. Taking to the stage to accept the award Ladbaby, whose real name is Mark, was joined by his wife Roxanne as he began: 'Thank you so much. 'We started in social media 10 years ago when we were in a very difficult place in life, we were struggling to pay our mortgage we had just had a kid, we were living on about £20 a week and it really changed our lives.' Elsewhere Clarkson's Farm, which has just seen season four released, grabbed the gong in the Entertainment category over Gavin And Stacey, I'm A Celebrity.... Get Me Out Of Here! and The Traitors. While Strictly Come Dancing and Loose Women were dealt a brutal blow, with both shows among a series of high profile snubs to not even be nominated. In the Daytime category, A Place In The Sun secured the win as it triumphed over Escape To The Country, Richard Osman's House Of Games and This Morning. Best Drama went to Call The Midwife as it won over All Creatures Great And Small, Baby Reindeer and Bridgerton. 24 Hours In Police Custody beat Freddie Flintoff's Field Of Dreams On Tour, The Martin Lewis Money Show Live and The Repair Shop in the Factual category. It was a day to celebrate for Sam Thompson and Pete Wicks after their podcast Staying Relevant triumphed against Begin Again with Davina McCall, Sh**ged. Married. Annoyed, and That Peter Crouch Podcast. While in the Food category fan favourite The Great British Bake Off came out on top in a strong category with Great British Menu, James Martin Saturday Morning and MasterChef. As for the Game Show award, there's Ant & Dec's Limitless Win, Michael McIntyre's The Wheel, The 1% Club and The Chase were nominated and it was Lee Mack's The 1% Club which grabbed the gong. Six Nations Rugby won best Live Sport and GB News Breakfast took home the prize in the news category. Charlie Peters took home best News presenter as he went head to head with Dan Walker, Fiona Bruce and Susanna Reid. As for the Radio Presenter award Jordan North was named number one against Ally McCoist, Simon Mayo and Vernon Kay. The Radio Show category featured Capital Breakfast with Jordan North, Chris Stark & Sian Welby, Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden, Rylan on Sunday and White & Jordan. But it was Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden that won the award. The Soap Actor award went to EastEnders' Steve McFadden who plays Phil Mitchell while EastEnders also received the honour of Soap Of The Year. He beat other nominees Barney Walsh who stars as Cam Mickelthwaite in Casualty, Beth Cordingly who plays Ruby Fox-Milligan in Emmerdale and Jack P Shepherd who portrays David Platt in Coronation Street. TV Personality went to Bradley Walsh as he pipped Alison Hammond, Ant & Dec and Martin Lewis to the post. As the stars gathered at London's Grosvenor House, the event was hosted by TRIC President Dan Walker and welcomed close to 1,000 guests and featured a show-stopping live performance by Magic Radio's Lemar. Meanwhile Eamonn Holmes faced a chorus of boos as he accepted the accolade for GB News in the News category at the event. The presenter, 65, entered the stage via a wheelchair ramp, before accepting the gong on behalf of the GB News Breakfast team. However while Eamonn thanked the crew and viewers at home, boos could be heard in the audience when GB News' win was announced, with one even heckling the star as his speech went on. A source told MailOnline: 'After it was announced that GB News Breakfast had won, there were a few boos around the room. Due to his wheelchair, Eamonn needed a ramp to get up on the stage.' 'He gave a moving speech about the work of colleague Charli Peters, who had earlier won News Presenter for his work on exposing grooming gangs in Britain. 'It was a nice moment seeing Eamonn pay tribute to a fellow news presenter, but it seemed someone in the audience didn't agree. OK! Stephen Mulhern dropped from £1m Butlins magic show deal in latest career blow after Dancing on Ice & game show canned

TV's Stephen Mulhern has been dropped from his £1million deal with holiday camp giant Butlin's. The Saturday Night Takeway star will not return to his sell-out shows after this summer. 3 ITV host Stephen, 48, has appeared for the past three years at the chain's centres at Minehead, Bognor Regis and Skegness. But his lucrative deal for the weekend performances will not be renewed at the end of this year. A source said: 'Stephen has been a massive hit with holidaymakers. 'He began his career as a Redcoat and has kept families brilliantly entertained.' The end of the deal comes after Mulhern collapsed in a Pizza Express in Sunningdale, Berkshire, late last year. He was also left devastated by the death of his father Christopher, who taught him magician tricks as a child. In March, ITV announced that Dancing On Ice - which he hosted with close pal Holly Willoughby - would not return next year. And his game show In For A Penny, which saw Stephen head to different places around the UK to challenge members of the public, was shelved by ITV after six series. But he is due to start to start filming for his challenge show You Bet! on Tour next week — without Holly, after she quit the show in March. Stephen, a close pal of Ant and Dec, started out in children's TV in 2001 when he was the presenter of the game show Finger Tips. Watch the moment Stephen Mulhern is left red-faced as he makes HUGE blunder on Catchphrase puzzle He presented his first show with Holly in 2004 when they worked together on Children's TV show Ministry Of Mayhem. The magician launched Tricky TV on CITV in 2005, which he presented until 2010. During this time, he was handpicked by bosses to front the ITV2 spin-off for Britain's Got Talent. He presented Britain's Got More Talent until the cancellation of the spin-off in 2019. A Butlin's spokesperson said: 'Stephen has been an incredible part of the Butlin's experience and continues to be a valued member of the family. 'Stephen's much-loved live show won't return in 2026 after three fantastic years, but we're thrilled to be working together on ongoing projects this autumn.' A spokesman for Stephen said: 'Stephen has absolutely loved being part of the Butlin's family — performing his stage shows in front of thousands of holiday makers across the country and the relationship with Butlin's remains hugely positive. 'This change allows Stephen to explore new opportunities in the family holiday space – something he's incredibly passionate about.' 3
