Lightweight, track-focused Ferrari 296 Speciale revealed

Prancing Horse's still entry-level offering remains a limited edition, but now produces over 600 kW from its plug-in hybrid V6. Speciale name returns after last being offered on the 296's predecessor, the 488. Image: Ford Ferrari has taken the wraps off the most hardcore iteration of its hybrid V6 supercar yet, revealing the 296 Speciale and its open-top sibling, the 296 Speciale Aperta. PHEV twist Both models serve as spiritual successors to the 458 Speciale and 488 Pista, delivering better performance and sharper driver engagement while tipping the scales significantly less than the standard models. At the heart of both lies the now-familiar 3.0-litre V6 twin-turbo engine producing a 515kW/755Nm. Paired with Ferrari's hybrid system though, the combined total system out comes to 648 kW. Revised aerodynamics results in the Speciale producing 435 kg of downforce at 250 km/h. Image: Ferrari Handling shifting duties is an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission that delivers power to the rear wheels. The claimed all-electric range from the 7.4-kWh battery pack, which produces 113 kW, is 25 km. The coupe tips the scales at 1 410 kg. Unlike the standard 296, the cabriolet adopts the Aperta name rather than GTS. Image: Ferrari Ferrari's 40:60 front-to-rear weight distribution continues and performance figures claim a top speed of 330 km/h, 0-100 km/h in 2.8 seconds and 0-200 km/h in seven seconds. Braking from 200 km/h to a standstill takes 106 metres. The 296 Speciale's dimensions haven't changed significantly from its standard counterpart. Its length measures 4 625 mm, width 1 968 mm, height 1 181 mm and wheelbase 2 600 mm. Interior has undergone subtle changes. Image: Ferrari Aerodynamic changes abound, from a reprofiled front with an S-duct-style intake and larger cooling apertures to a reworked rear diffuser and active aero elements. Downforce is up by 20% compared to the standard 296 GTB, generating 435 kg at 250 km/h. The open-top Aperta shares the same mechanicals and performance but brings the retractable folding roof hard-top roof. Not yet for us Both models are due for global rollout from early 2026 and while Ferrari hasn't pegged the Speciale and Speciale Aperta as limited editions, production will be shorter than usual to ensure exclusivity. Italian pricing starts at €407 000 for the coupe and €462 000 for the Aperta, which amounts to R8 607 073 and R9 770 191 when converted directly into Rand. 1-of-210 Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta Listed for Sale with Under 1,500 Miles

⚡️ Read the full article on Motorious One of the most coveted modern Ferrari hypercars has hit the private market, as RM Sotheby's announces the availability of a 2017 Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta—one of just 210 units ever built. Offered with under 1,500 miles on the odometer, the hybrid V12 convertible is now listed through the firm's Private Sales division. Built to celebrate Ferrari's 70th anniversary, the LaFerrari Aperta is the open-top version of the groundbreaking LaFerrari, which was part of the hybrid hypercar "Holy Trinity" alongside the McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder. While all three revolutionized the supercar segment with their electrified powertrains, the Aperta stands out as the rarest of the group and one of Ferrari's most exclusive production models in recent history. This example is finished in classic Rosso Corsa over a Nero Alcantara interior and features Ferrari Classiche Certification. It retains the original 963-horsepower hybrid drivetrain, which pairs a high-revving 6.3-liter V12 with a HY-KERS electric motor system. With a 9,250-rpm redline and a 0–60 mph time of just 2.4 seconds, the LaFerrari Aperta delivers Formula 1-inspired technology in a road-going package. Significant engineering modifications were required to convert the LaFerrari coupe into the Aperta, including reinforced chassis elements and revised airflow management, ensuring the car's performance figures remained uncompromised. Unlike the standard LaFerrari, the Aperta features removable roof panels, allowing drivers to experience its performance with the wind in their hair and the V12 in full voice. Pre-sold to Ferrari's most loyal clients, the Aperta was unavailable to the general public upon launch and remains rarer than the Enzo, F50, F40, and 288 GTO. Its combination of extreme rarity, advanced hybrid performance, and collector status places it among the most desirable Ferraris ever produced. This meticulously maintained example represents a rare opportunity to acquire a piece of Ferrari history. Interested parties can inquire through RM Sotheby's Private Sales or visit duPont REGISTRY for further details.

Watch Gordon Ramsay Drive His Ferrari Daytona SP3 In London

Read the full story on Backfire News Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay owns quite the car collection, including a beautiful Ferrari Daytona SP3 he was spotted driving in London recently. One of only 599 made for the entire world, the limited-edition model sold for at least $2.2 million brand new in 2023. However, it's undoubtedly appreciated in value considerably since parked the supercar along the street for some sort of event. Later, in the evening, he came back out to the Ferrari with a young kid, letting him sit in the driver's seat and rev the engine. Imagine being that child. Later, when he was leaving, Ramsay joked before getting in the SP3 that he didn't know where the door handle was. He also said goodbye to the cameraman, demonstrating that despite his celebrity status and extreme wealth, he's still kind and down-to-earth. Curiously, Gordon Ramsay's Ferrari Daytona SP3 is a left-hand-drive model, not a right-hand-drive like one would expect to see in the UK. Is it registered on mainland Europe? We don't know but that would be our guess. Whatever event Ramsay was attending, former Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone might have been present as well. He was captured on film getting out of the back of a Range Rover right by the parked Ferrari, so he might have been in attendance as well. Built on the bones of the LaFerrari Aperta, the Ferrari Daytona SP3 is an interesting supercar out of Maranello. Instead of using the same engine as the Aperta, it's powered by the V12 out of the 812 Competizione. What's more, the infotainment system is borrowed from the SF90. While that might make it sound like a cobbled-together mess, it apparently is a rather refined ride. We've come to expect nothing less from Ferrari, so that really isn't a surprise.
