Apple announces AppleCare One subscription that covers multiple devices — starts at $19 a month

When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. If you want to protect your Apple devices from accidents, theft and loss and get priority support, you can now get coverage for multiple Apple products in one plan for one price. And you'll save a bit of money in the process. The new service is called AppleCare One, which builds on AppleCare+ by letting you protect up to three products tied to your Apple Account for $19.99 a month. It starts rolling out on July 24. That's not a bad deal considering that AppleCare+ currently costs $11.99 a month for the iPhone 16 and $13.99 a month for the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max. So, for a few bucks more per month, you can add your Apple Watch and iPad. Or your MacBook and AirPods Max. It's up to you. And if you want to protect more than three devices at once, each additional device will cost you an extra $5.99 a month. You can add already-owned devices Another plus is that AppleCare One can cover Apple products you already own up to 4 years old. Headphones need to be less than a year old, though. But at least you don't have to buy something new to add it to your plan. Apple will walk you through the steps virtually to see if your devices are eligible by checking if they're in "good condition." So you don't need to go to an Apple Store. For the first time, Apple is also extending theft and loss coverage to the Apple Watch and iPad. This will be available to AppleCare One and AppleCare+ customers. What does AppleCare One cover? Similar to AppleCare+, AppleCare One includes: Unlimited repairs for accidents like drops and spills 24/7 priority support from Apple experts Quick Apple-certified service Battery coverage Theft and loss protection for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch Note that you cannot add devices from family members to AppleCare One — at least for now. They need to be tied to your specific Apple Account. How to get AppleCare One To get AppleCare One, you can sign up at or when purchasing a device at the Apple Store. In addition, you can enroll in AppleCare One right from the Settings app on your iPhone, iPad or Mac. If you trade in your Apple device and upgrade with Apple, you can seamlessly transfer coverage to the new device. How much can you save with AppleCare One? By signing up for AppleCare One, you can save a decent amount of money over choosing AppleCare+ for multiple devices. For example, let's say you want to protect an iPhone 16 Pro, Apple Watch 10 and MacBook Pro M4. AppleCare One AppleCare Plus iPhone 16 Pro $19.99 a month $13.99 Apple Watch 10 Inclluded $2.49 MacBook Pro M4 (14-inch) Included $9.99 Total $19.99 $26.47 In this scenario, you'd save $6.48 a month. That's a pretty good deal considering you're getting the same amount of coverage. AppleCare One outlook Overall, AppleCare One is a no-brainer for those who own multiple Apple devices. You'll save money versus buying AppleCare+ for several gadgets. I just wish a family could cover Apple devices from multiple Apple Accounts under one AppleCare One plan. Apple introduces AppleCare One for affordable and flexible coverage plans for up to three apple devices

Apple has just made it easier for people to protect multiple devices with one simple plan. Called AppleCare One, this new monthly subscription offers a single cover for up to three Apple products. For many Apple fans who own an iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch, this could mean less hassle and better savings. The plan costs $19.99 a month and covers up to three devices, no matter which type. It includes accidental damage protection, such as cracked screens or liquid spills, along with battery service and 24 by 7 expert support. If you want to add more devices, you can do that too. Each extra device costs $5.99 a month. This is more than just a repackaged AppleCare Plus. AppleCare One brings something new. For the first time, theft and loss coverage now applies not only to iPhones but also to iPads and Apple Watches. This added protection will give users more peace of mind, especially for devices they carry around every day. Another welcome change is flexibility. Users can now add devices that are up to four years old, as long as they are in good working condition. Earlier, Apple limited AppleCare Plus to just 60 days after purchase. This update means you do not need to rush to protect your devices. You can sign up for AppleCare One while buying a new Apple product, or you can add existing ones by going through a quick check. Apple may ask for basic diagnostics or photos to confirm the condition of the device. AppleCare One fits into Apple's larger plan to boost its services business. This stream, which includes platforms like Apple Music and iCloud, is becoming a major source of revenue. In short, AppleCare One offers a smarter way to stay protected. It is ideal for those who own more than one Apple device and want easy support, quick service, and less worry, all under one affordable monthly plan.

Apple unveils AppleCare One subscription plan

Apple is bundling coverage under a single monthly subscription including a new multi-device protection plan, AppleCare One. These plans align with previous efforts to drive growth in its services business. The new plan enables users to cover up to three Apple devices, including iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches and Apple TV units, for $19.99 per month. Additional devices can be added at a cost of $5.99 each per month and customers will be able to mix models and product categories without affecting the base monthly fee. The new plan, available in the US from 24 July, includes unlimited accidental damage repairs, battery replacements, round-the-clock customer support and now extends theft and loss protection beyond the iPhone to cover iPads and Apple Watches. Apple stated the service offers a cost-saving alternative to individual AppleCare+ plans, with the potential to save users up to $11 per month when covering multiple products. Users can enrol in AppleCare One through their devices or at Apple retail locations. The service can also be applied to existing products up to four years old subject to a diagnostic testing and photo checks to confirm the device's condition, expanding beyond the current 60-day purchase window tied to AppleCare+. The plan will also automatically update to cover new devices when users trade in old ones. While the company will continue to offer its standalone AppleCare+ plans, Bob Borchers, VP of worldwide product marketing at Apple, stated the new plan is built on the 'trusted foundation of AppleCare+,' and offers 'simplicity and exceptional value.' The Apple Watch Just Got an Unexpected Upgrade

It promises to give Apple Watch wearers a little bit of extra peace of mind. Today, Apple announced AppleCare One, a $20 monthly subscription service that provides AppleCare coverage for three of your Apple devices. You can add more Apple devices to the plan for an additional $6/month per device. The plan is obviously designed for those who pay for AppleCare+ for multiple devices. By bundling three devices together, Apple says you can save 'up to $11 a month over enrolling in separate AppleCare+ plans for each device.' (Note: unfortunately, there's no family plan option.) There aren't any tradeoffs with AppleCare One — a subscription provides all the same benefits that came with AppleCare+ — but there are a few extra benefits … one of which is especially pertinent for Apple Watch wearers. Theft and loss protection, now available to the Apple Watch With an AppleCare One subscription, you can choose any three Apple devices you want to be covered in the plan. This includes iPhone, Apple Watch, Mac, iPad, Apple TV, HomePod and AirPods. Or multiples of each. The price of the plan remains unchanged regardless of the device. The bundled plan gets you the benefits of AppleCare+. According to Apple, this includes 'unlimited repairs for accidents like drops and spills, 24/7 priority support from Apple experts, quick and convenient Apple-certified service, and battery coverage.' Most notable for Apple Watch and iPad owners, Apple is extending theft and loss protection to those two devices for the first time. Previously, this was only available for iPhones with an AppleCare+ subscription. Moving forward, anybody who purchases AppleCare+ for their Apple Watch, or bundles it in their AppleCare One plan, will have theft and loss protection. If you've had AppleCare+ for your Apple Watch, you'll need to upgrade to a new AppleCare+ Theft and Loss plan or start subscribing to AppleCare One. Previous AppleCare+ coverage for Apple Watch doesn't include theft and loss coverage and won't be automatically upgraded. Superior coverage for older devices The other big benefit of AppleCare One is that it significantly extends the period during which you can get your device covered by AppleCare. To date, if you wanted to add AppleCare+ coverage for a specific device, you had to do so within the 60-day window following its purchase. With AppleCare One subscription, you can add devices that are up to four years old and in good condition. It's a big time increase. For these older devices, Apple will have a process in place that proves they are still in 'good condition.' It'll involve taking photos of said device or bringing it to an Apple Store to undergo a diagnostic check. The normal AppleCare+ coverage will not provide this four-year window. It'll only be available to devices included in an AppleCare One subscription. When's it coming? You'll be able to sign up for an AppleCare One subscription starting tomorrow, July 24th. To sign up, you can on to the Settings app of you iPhone, iPad or Mac, and navigating to the AppleCare & Warranty section. Once subscribed, you can see the products — both recently purchased or ones currently covered by AppleCare+ — that you want to add to the AppleCare One plan.
